I first wanted to cover the replacements: I'm always very wary of replacements as I find that inactive mafia usually get replaced more often than inactive town. In Wombat's case, he's been inactive everywhere; it's not just a case of him being too busy with other games or that kind of thing, so I'm willing to give a pass on JLM for now. WoT13 has in general been inactive in most mafia games I've seen (him/her?) in, and Turin usually gives enough thoughts that people can read on him when town, so hopefully he'll ease my mind soon. Tiinker, replaced by Nol, I'm more worried about between the three, mostly cause Nol seems to jump in very active, and has reraised all kinds of setup talk.

2. New to the game so giving my thoughts as I catch up. Reraising setup talk kind of comes with the job of rereading a game.

3. Tiinker wasn't really inactive. He got caught up being busy and requested to be replaced. It's a subtle difference to actually being replaced without being requested IMO.

 

No, activity is great. But no offense, I've noticed you haven't been quite as active in recent games. I thought it might be possible that you had some kind of juicy role, so the excitement was causing you to post a lot more.

 

As for Tink, my point about replacements is that inactive mafia tend to ask for replacements, since they feel guilty that their inactivity is hurting their team's chances. Inactive townies don't usually feel that guilty for hurting the rest of town, although they should.

 

Either way, I HIGHLY doubt that all of the replacements are mafia or antitown, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if at least one of them was. You seemed to stand out the most, mostly because of your situation compared to the others

 

On to important things, Despo I have to agree with you that I probably read too much into the scene. I still consider all information viable unless proven otherwise but that one probably isn't valid. Also, I don't use big words .

 

Didn't say you used big words, said you were using fancy vocab. In the post where you talked about being a psychologist. You may talk like that irl, after all I use a somewhat fancier vocab than most irl, but I don't normally see you post like that.

 

I think despo should be shot for the quote walls.

I figure it's better to have my thoughts referenced to what I'm talking about. Being on a dif schedule than most tends to hinder my ability to comment on things right when they happen.

 

I have not mentioned third party this game that was other people speculating, not me I was talking third party possibilities in DPR's game you have your games mixed up which is precisely why I told you to get the posts because they don't exist.

No he doesn't. The fourth best candidate (after the three who revealed which were not getting lynched) was peace. It would have saved us a day.

 

We prob wouldn't have gotten a Peace lynch secured, so we wouldn't have saved a day. Not only that, but have you noticed how often someone almost gets lynched day 1, yet hangs around for a long time after that yet ends up being scum? I coulda seen that happening with Peace. Once people "move on" from a person it's hard to get them to go back and review the case on em, and in the meantime the person that was being cased usually is more careful after that.

 

Etiquette question: I think it is now past the deadline for day to start. Would it be wrong to speak in the event I was actually killed during the night?

Another moderating question:

Vote thief. Do you work that like a regular vote controller where they PM the mod and then mod messages the VC'ed party or does it work another wayy?

 

Also, I was of the opinion that an absorber was unaffected by actions taken on them. Is there much leeway there?

 

GF, so you viewed shinori in the day and got a result of town but you are not a cop? Very odd when you had earlier said "lynch someone not the cop"

Honestly getting kind of annoying seeing you insinuate that you're gonna die so much Turin. If GF lives through the night, I would be greatly surprised, and would prob vote him cause I'd guess that he's def scum at that point. Either way, I doubt you'd be one of the priority targets for mafia right now. And in the meantime, all you're doing by trying to josh me and imply I would kill you is set me up for a frame job.

 

Also, the absorber was NK'ed in the Smash Bros game, so I'm pretty sure you knew how it worked... and Shinori already said he was Neighborized N2. Which is tonight.

First of all anything said in the game thread is gameplay so it's kind of low to use that as justification to suggest modkilling someone who isn't CLEARLY out of line which I don't think he was

When mods use actions as they come weird things happen and personally I am not a fan of that style of mafia

 

Example: Cop investigates mafia and is given the result before daybreak and outs his result

Mafia were going to kill the cop anyway but hadn't sent in their official action yet

They send it in and the cop dies but it's too late for one of them because the cop had the opportunity to out his results

 

That's why in my games I try to make a point of stating in my role PM to investigation roles that they get their results in the morning

The monopoly game was one, the Smash Bros game I think?, the Star Wars one on MJ (which everyone kinda deserted, so meh).

 

Plus, I was really hoping you would join DPR's game. Spiders aren't ALL that bad... they're kinda cute n fuzzy!

I thought it came off as disrespectful. As in "Well, Alanna should have thought about that before she sent me the QT link" or something.

 

And while I see what you're saying, we don't know if there was some kind of weird mechanic that happened that made the action happen instantly. Either way I still don't think he should have mentioned it without checking with the mod to see if that was okay, and it seems apparent from his response to me that he didn't.

I died half way through that game and had 8th top posts (142)

I was very active in the first couple days and then at one point the game went into hyperdrive while I was asleep

There was something like 20-50 pages posted in a day it was insane

I tried to reread but the pages kept piling and piling so I started skimming

By the time I said screw it I need to pay attention to the NOW I was pretty obviously not town and that's why I was killed

You could say I could have been more active but I promise I was about as active as I could be without putting my foot in my mouth (which I did anyway)

Even after I died I still participated for awhile in my mafia QT

I abandoned it for less than a week because I was extremely frustrated with the alts

Like first of all it was a complicated setup so from a town POV I'm trying to figure things out

Then everything got turned upside down with alts and I had to struggle just to remember who I was let alone anyone else

And then most everyone else was being slow and inactive so that didn't really help

And on top of all of that the damn alt wouldn't stay signed in so every time I WANTED to make a post I had to open a word document, copy the username, go back to my browser and paste, go back to the word document and copy the password, go back to the browser and paste, sign in, go to the thread, make my post

And then an hour or two later someone would reply and if I wanted to reply back I had to do it all again so I said screw it

 

And even then I was only inactive for a few days

I sucked it up and dealt with it until the alts were lifted and even up until we all called the game because Wombats MIA I was active

 

Plus, I was really hoping you would join DPR's game. Spiders aren't ALL that bad... they're kinda cute n fuzzy!

Putting my severe arachnophobia aside (seriously I really don't like looking at spiders), like I told DPR, I really didn't want to join a game so big

I'm trying to keep the games I join 20 people or lower because anymore and I start to get confused until the numbers thin out anyway

I only joined this game because I'm an addict and hand't been in a mafia game for weeks

Seriously, go look how I harassed blackhoof because he didn't start his game as soon as he got the required number of people

I can't not be in a mafia game for so long

Yeah I must have it mixed up with a diff game. I just mainly seem to recall you having a couple of posts in the last couple of games I've been in with you where you were very apologetic for being inactive, I think that's what mainly made it stick out in my mind.

Trust me: If anything, moar inactivity would have been a godsend in that game. When the whole mass reveal, partner identifying crap got started, catching up to the thread everyday seriously gave me chills.

 

There was NO embellishment in that sentence. I would literally scan my eyes across the page, and massive walls of text of updated reveal lists, just to see the same thing on the next page... then the next... then the next... and this happened like 3 days in a row. The only reason I kept up with it is that I am an admitted masochist.

 

Also, Blech @ one of the Cops in that game. Not Tress. The other one. Seriously the worst cop play I've seen in mafia to date. I think 5 viewings were spent trying to verify me, before they lynched my partner anyways.

 

There is no DM smiley that will roll it's eyes hard enough for that.

Despo, in smash bros the reason EP died was Lily used the absorb power that night. When it was used, the person using it was unaffected, which you knew as your mirror ability was very similar. That is the only game I have ever played it was used so I asked. Nolder seems to say it can go either way as a mod call.

 

As to you, I can see you easily as mafia this game. You know that I read you better than most. You have most calling you town. My presence could cause you difficulties. Hence... Maybe you take a chance thinking you can get the claimed cop lynched.

 

Your day one push of setup talk was distracting from the goal of looking for mafia. On day one there is no basis for said discussion so to keep bringing it up is not helping. To throw the possibility of forsaken and to claim they are worse than mafia is also anti town IMO. It is a classic mafia technique to shine the light on anything that lessens the pressure on your team. It works too (I.e. game of thrones). Or not (chrissy in spider). Add some Despo mafia comments and I can definitely see you as a Mafioso.

Niel, has he said anything original? All I remember is seeing him pile on Lenlo with nothing other than "the case is building" or words to that effect.

 

Rand, he did tag team with peace on Lenlo. Also the silence/vote theft isn't sitting right. He called it a vote control. Which isn't quite right. Rand does have issues getting claims straight so could be nothing. He say he was definitely mafia tho.

BTW Despo part of getting a good read on you is watching your teammates. It was Basel that made me sure you were Javier mafia in the spider game.

I had said I thought Despo did a good job before you said Despo was scum. Or implied, suggested, or whatever. Despo being the first to vote on the scum train. I didn't know if you joked, but I suppose you might be right. He did frame a teammate, unless they were on different scum teams.

As I said in a later post, I would think Despo, Darthe and player are most likely to be townies. That was my opinion, though, and I might have missed something.
