Looking around at players and commenting on whether you think they're trying to solve the game or not is nice and all, but at the same time you're hanging back to see which way it goes? Not the best look.

Because pinning the tail on the donkey would start/add to a train that both Town and Mafia will make use of. I've seen the mess it makes for town when there are no wolves under suspicion on D1 - it makes nearly the whole day NAI. 

 

So I'm hoping that someone will ping me and my vote can be placed more usefully. Just like Turin just pinged me, though not sure if it is enough to earn my vote. Without a strong read I've got a much better chance of getting a town with a random vote than wolf. I don't see how that helps at this point. Waiting for things to heat up a bit and see if any of the wolves are going to implement a cunning plan.

DPR,  I just went through and read your posts in this game and it feels to me that you are mostly pot stirring and not so much mixing it up. There have been a lot of quips and things but only a few real time takes. Some of those strike me as odd. 

 

You called out Tigraine for her "drive by" and then later compared her to Verb. This I thought was you best contribution ( other than lols, which have been top notch).

 

The Rand entry reaction felt reaching. I took his entire entry as a big joke with Nyn. You even asked if he was joking, but it looked like you wanted to treat it as serious.  It felt manufactured. 

 

You noted Lenlo hadn't posted. (Darthe,  maybe check on him). Was that in any part a response to my joke vote on him?

 

The whole Ed 3p "confusion" episode where you claimed I was soft claiming 3p then in the same post said I wasn't. It felt like fishing.

 

You critiqued Ed for not liking someone that excluded themselves from their read list. You didn't mention that I had included myself. That seemed a bit hypocritical. Maybe you just don't really care what my reads are so didn't read carefully.  Idk

Just copying what Dice joked about?  And also a misrep.  While I haven't really contributed much yet, which I think (Ithi?) said re: weekend at Verbal's.........DPR has a handful of posts with multiple reads.  Whether or not he's faking it remains to be seen, but you can't say that's not contribution.

Allow me to explain, then.  You make votes, and see how people react.  Does somebody randomly side with your intentionally lousy case?  Maybe scum going for low hanging fruit.  Does somebody rage out and post a wall of text defense with plausible points to counter what you said?  Probably frustrated town.

 

See?  You don't need a solid case to vote.

I can see this as your PoV. I'm trying to keep you from getting too defensive because  imo you get more emotional and for me it gets harder to read you. In the game I was mafia I pretty much just cleared you and hoped to use your vote as I had much better targets. I don't know your alignment this game so I'm trying to get you right. This is the best way I know how to do it. 

 

I think at some point you need to decide who you do think is mafia, even if that's me and vote them.

 

Could you give a list of your current reads and the reasons you have?

Honestly don't know what to make of dice. Lol

 

One of the things that troubles me irt him is that he voted Rand, saying he basically agreed with all of key's points irt him. That one line of agreeing with no additional thoughts of his own. But then quotes a bunch of my posts going on about my tone and town reading me. He seemed to have put more effort into explaining his read on me than the player he's voting... which is peculiar.

 

I also raised an eyebrow at him mentioning that being lovie dubby with me would have raised my suspicion. As if it was a concern.

I get that but muddying the waters with t/'t violence is also not helpful. Also making sketchy cases against players seems an incredibly wolfy thing to do and seems like there is a high chance of backfiring. How then is anyone meant to find the wolves if town are carrying out wolf tactics? I have to stay in the comfort zone of my own abilities, I feel like I have damaged town's chances enough today with lashing out randomly at people with sketchy reasoning. Not only would I be likely eliminated by my flip would tell no one anything.

5 pages in, main focus is Heavy atm, this early spat with Ithi/Turin/Others seems really odd, very defensive, very reactive, not making very much sense. Heavy was sort of similar in our last game, might just be a defensive person in general, but this one feels over reactive. The big thing I can't figure out yet is whether or not its over reactive for a bit/joke or if its a genuine reaction to being sussed early and not knowing how to handle the attention as a first time wolf.

So not being much help, I'm afraid, even after my herculean sleep. I'd say run up Dice, but in my experience Dice reacts in exactly the same way to being voted for in both alignments. Maybe Ed to see which way he jumps? But I'm loath to vote at random, however I have little else to go at this point and DL is rapidly approaching. 

 

Regarding my "change" in style, from my pov, I still just posting the way I always do. *shrugs* not really a lot I can say to reassure anyone on that score. I still stand by that voting for someone for saying nothing when everyone else is making joke votes and posting memes seems unfair, but there we are.

As far as cheerleading, I'm guessing you are talking about the game you didn't play but followed. This was a special case where I had specific goals (that were not as successful as I had hoped for due to various reasons that aren't important right now), that required me to be vigorously pounding my town drum. This game isn't that game. It is open setup and from my take pretty standard. That means I'm back to listening and noting / pushing at things that don't make sense to me.

 

Is this list top to bottom or is it pretty much random? I'm guessing random but please lemme know.

In the brief moment of transcendence between being asleep and awake this morning I solved the whole game. Then I woke up and found myself with nought but a crackpot theory. On a related note, does this site still have spoiler tags?
