We have a little rest Story: With the descent into Windrest Hollow just ahead, you decide to rest. The path opens into a small stone ledge, shielded on three sides by rock and framed by low pines. A thin waterfall trickles nearby, feeding into a shallow pool—clean, drinkable water glinting under the fading afternoon light. You unroll your bedroll, place your pack within reach, and settle in beside the pool. Kerin sits quietly, hands still bound, eyes watching the horizon but saying nothing. As you rest, the Prayer Stone tucked in your pouch glows faintly—not enough to call attention, just a gentle pulse, as if reassuring you that this is sacred ground. Short Rest Completed: You spend enough time meditating and breathing in the calm of the ledge to restore your strength, but not enough for full recovery. HP Restored: +1 EP Restored: +7 (includes +1 bonus from Water Glyph) Veilbrand Ascendant: Cooldown fully lifted Status: Slightly fatigued, but spell-ready Updated Stats: HP: 26 / 27 EP: 10 / 17 Elemental Strengths: (unchanged) Water: 19 | Fire: 12 | Spirit: 15 | Air: 2 | Earth: 2 Spell Book: Veilbrand Ascendant: Ready Emberlash, Soul Veil, Boiling Lance Inventory: (unchanged) Codex Note Added: Sacred Rest Point – Whispering Ledge Prayer Stone harmonized: future blessings may be stronger here Outcome of the Choice: You completed a short rest, recovering EP and lifting Veilbrand Ascendant’s cooldown. The calm energy of the ledge also bonded faintly with your spiritual tools, hinting at future use. Next Choices: Continue into Windrest Hollow now that you're recovered. Use the Prayer Stone while the sacred energy lingers. Speak with Kerin, while the peaceful moment may loosen his thoughts. Search the ledge for rare herbs or spiritual artifacts. Sleep for a full long rest, risking nightfall but gaining full recovery. -

I see these posts every year and go, oh yeah, Turin. Did you do your taxes? But apparently expats have till June. Still weird that all of you have to do it. It's only self employed people that have to do it over here.

We consult the book of all things Story: You reach for your Codex and whisper, “Show me the nearest settlement. Somewhere safe… with people.” The glyphs swirl for a moment, responding to both your Spirit Glyph and the tracking seal on Kerin. A map forms in mid-air, etched in silver light. Just a few miles off the path to Skyreach lies a village nestled in the cliffs: Windrest Hollow. “Windrest Hollow: a fortified cliffside village known for its small shrine, herbalists, and traveling mystics. Friendly to glyphbearers. Caution: isolated but safe.” The Codex highlights a winding descent path toward the hollow, veiled from above by natural rock formations—hard to see, harder to attack. Kerin lifts his head. “Windrest… we used to watch it from the ridges. They never gave in.” You begin the descent, guided by glyphlight and cautious steps. Updated Stats: HP: 25 / 27 EP: 3 / 17 Veilbrand Ascendant: Cooldown active Inventory: (unchanged) Coin: 47 Copper, 6 Silver Crowns Companion: Kerin (Bound Cultist) – cooperative Codex Update: New Location Added: Windrest Hollow Shrine access Safe rest location Possible merchant & information hub Travel Route Locked: Path to Windrest Hollow Detected Outcome of the Choice: You’ve located Windrest Hollow, a hidden but friendly village just off your current path. It offers a chance to rest, trade, purify items, and speak with NPCs—and a place to safely deliver Kerin for help or judgment. Next Choices: Continue toward Windrest Hollow now, aiming to arrive by nightfall. Ask Kerin questions on the way, using Spirit Glyph to guide the talk. Rest at the edge of the pass before descending—recover EP and stabilize. Use the Prayer Stone to seek divine favor before entering the village. Detour to search for herbs or items along the mountain trail. -

Ok, back to being cautious Story: You step toward the surviving cultist—still kneeling, breathing heavy but no longer trembling. “I’m not letting you go,” you say quietly, “but I won’t leave you for dead either.” You retrieve a length of cord from your adventurer’s kit and bind their wrists, leaving enough slack for movement but not escape. They don’t resist. “I… I’ll come quietly,” the cultist mutters. “If you truly walk the path of balance… maybe you’ll show me where mine broke.” With a few whispered words to your Codex, you register the prisoner under a passive tracking ward. A faint glyph pulses on their bindings—enough to slow or mark them if they try to flee. Captured NPC: Former Cultist – "Kerin" Former initiate of the Eye of the Hollow Knows minor rituals and cult structure May be turned into an informant or redeemed under proper guidance Spirit Glyph can detect falsehood if questioned directly Can be delivered to a temple, shrine, or village guard for judgment or assistance Codex Alert – Prisoner Status Active A nearby village or spiritual sanctuary will be needed to safely house the prisoner Until then, travel speed slightly reduced Chance of random ambush increased until he is delivered Updated Stats: HP: 25 / 27 EP: 3 / 17 Veilbrand Ascendant: Cooldown active Inventory Update: (unchanged) Coin Total: 47 Copper, 6 Silver Crowns Companion Added: Kerin (Bound Cultist) – currently passive Codex Update: “Cult Captive – In Transit” status enabled Town or sanctuary recommended for delivery Outcome of the Choice: You spared and bound the final cultist, now named Kerin, placing a spiritual mark of truth and registering him in your Codex. He may become a valuable source of information—or a symbol of redemption. Next Choices: Ask the Codex for the nearest town or sanctuary to deliver Kerin. Interrogate Kerin now, using Spirit Glyph to detect lies. Rest and restore EP before moving forward toward Skyreach Monastery. Use the Prayer Stone to attempt purifying the Cursed Thread Ring. Press on to Skyreach with Kerin, risking more ambushes but staying on path. -

👀 Oh. My bad lol
-
I mean, if you're not in the game, then someone else will naturally be more villagery ... You would be Villagery Villager Emeritus, like the Pope.
-
Oh I think we should all be the most villagery villager ever to village.
-
Today I found @mottlee and @Red2111 Actually I found Mottlee by accident but she came and said hi on DM anyways! So maybe they will come visit here. If Red can ever find her email she used originally lol
-
We all thought you'd love the legendary aspect of it all, because you were the only villager in the village.
-
Maybe Gladiator would have been better.
-
It was not intentional. Indeed it was unprecedented. I doubt it will ever ever happen again. But I was checking you were OK in the game.

Hey me and Dice are continuing our networking efforts to get more people back. All everyone needs to do is reach out to old friends and promise them a most excellent fun time 🙂
