Follow up with Boiling Lance to finish the burning cultist and pin the flank. Use a Firegem to boost your next spell and press your advantage. Strike with your small blade from the adventurer’s kit while they’re stunned. Attempt to speak, calling out the cultists to see if one hesitates.

The last mists of the Temple of Still Waters have faded behind you. Now, the path leads forward—toward Skyreach Monastery, hidden in the mountains and guarded by storm and spirit alike. With your glyphs etched, your Codex stronger, and your strength grown, the air itself seems to acknowledge your steps. Birds return to song, and the breeze carries the scent of highland pine and cold stone. You follow a narrow trail climbing steadily toward the hills. After nearly an hour of hiking through rocky switchbacks and mossy ledges, your Codex flashes. Secret Route Detected – Whispering Pass Only visible to those who have fused the elements of water, fire, and spirit. A section of stone flickers, revealing a faint, arched doorway hidden beneath twisted vines. Carved into the arch: a spiral of waves, flames, and light. You step through into a quiet glen with wind whispering between stone pillars. The air is thin but calm—this is Skyreach’s lower sanctuary, a place even the storms do not reach. Random Encounter Triggered: Ambush at the Threshold Before you can move deeper, a shadow blinks across the path—then another. Four figures step from the rocks. These are not corrupted husks, but cloaked watchers—sentinels bearing the emblem of a broken eye. Their blades shimmer unnaturally. The dark force has sent agents. Human ones. Eye of the Hollow (4 enemies) Elite cult assassins Immune to emotional spells Weak to area attacks and light-based cleansing Extremely fast, strike first unless preemptively surprised Battle Options – Choose One: Use Emberlash to strike first, igniting the closest assassin and disrupting their stance. Cast Soul Veil to reveal their intentions and try to intercept their strike. Use a Firegem to empower your next attack and force them back. Throw the Prayer Stone to confuse or distract them before combat. Summon Veilbrand Ascendant, accepting its fatigue cost to cleanse the battlefield.
