Really? Well that went completely over my head.

57 minutes ago, Skipp said: 'Or a hidden weave known only by the Aes Sedai who knew of the 13th Depository existence.' ... maybe it's another one of those magic doors we all thought 'What the heck?' about when we first saw Moiraine create a secret passage into Siuan's room
-
Moiraine was able to front it out, even when she'd been shielded. What they lack in actual power, these days, they've more than made up for in attitude lol

I'm having a great time! It's fun to talk about all this stuff again 🙂

Maybe a deal was struck with the Seanchan. We know Liandrin is in contact with them. She agrees to soften them up.

Quality of Life Updates & Suggestions
Ithillian Turambar replied to SinisterDeath's topic in Forum Rules & Guides
Does anyone know how to flip to the mobile version of the site? I'm on a chromebook and I think it would load faster if it was on mobile version, rather than the full version. -
I'm thinking it's probably a segway into letting the audience know that these women are flawed and not all powerful magic machines. Sure they are still seen as this seat of absolute power but even Logain says they are nothing compared to their predecessors. To get Logain they had to sneak in at night. So this shows their weaknesses and probs sets up when they fail again when the full Tower attack happens.

Hello…..again….and for a first time
Ithillian Turambar replied to Millon's topic in Introduce Yourself
Hi Mills, your braver than I am, posting a whole new intro. I prefer to just sneak back in and pretend like I've been here the whole time. But, I'm Ithi. Also been away for about 10 years. Mostly White Tower and Black Tower. And Mafia sometimes. That's seems to have dropped right off. I used to make siggys but I don't have a personal laptop anymore. If anyone feels creative and would like to have a go a siggy making, I have a link to a really old lesson I did, back in the day. -
Yup and it's so nice to be able to join in and just chat and try and figure out what's going on and why. I never felt comfortable enough to join in when it was the book discussion as there are far far more in depth readers than I have ever been. But the TV show. Absolutely! Was this the same? Why is it different? What's going on here then? Ooh nice dress! Fun times!

Well the Grays could try and whip up a quick mediation and ceasefire/armistice agreement 😃
-
Pretty much yeah. The prophecies are vague. The bad guys are all locked away. Any guy who channels is gentled cos they are a false dragon. It's been 3000 years, so they probably were on high alert in the beginning but now, not really.

What Do You Most Want to See in S3?
Ithillian Turambar replied to DreadLord31's topic in Wheel of Time TV Show
I am not a fan of finding a reason to have Couladin live. Even if he becomes some teacher role. The Shaido would still have allegiance to him and that would cause succession issues. Like, having split allegiances in the future causes a major poop show -
"The Dark One and all of the Forsaken are bound in Shayol Ghul, beyond the Great Blight, bound by the Creator at the moment of Creation, bound until the end of time. The hand of the Creator shelters the world, and the Light shines on us all." So, if they don't know the Dragon has actually been reborn then they don't know that the Dark is about and causing trouble. And they've got no reason to be worrying about it. Only the Greens have been actively preparing for this. Oh... I've been totally sniped by Turin lol.

The children of the light? Not sure how they've got involved in this discussion but at least 7 sisters were killed by the children just because they had their hands cut off. They believed so strongly that they had to use the gestures they'd been taught, to channel the power, that when they lost their hands and were bound they believed they couldn't channel. Egwene sees this and makes it her mission to never rely on those gestures. Hence all the chest thrusting lol. So yeah, old school Aes Seda knew the stories and the legends, but even Alanna said she never expected the Last Battle would happen in her lifetime.
-
Agree. But she has the ring so reached Accepted and would know how to initiate a Link. The others would not know how to do that.
-
But they didn't know. Only Moiraine and Siuan knew the Dragon had been reborn at first. And then Alanna and Leanne would have been warned. So makes sense they were the only ones who didn't go into shock at the Black Ajah reveal. 'The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.' 3000 years since the last time they battled the dark. 1000 years since the Trolloc wars. And, apart from those who were in the know, the rest of them had no idea they'd suddenly be attacked and betrayed by their own friends and sisters. The shock of suddenly realising the end of the world was coming wouldn't have helped either.

Alannah is a Green they are the Battle Ajah. They train in attacks to be able to fight the last battle. She'd be well practised at shielding and attacks. Shielding is a defence not an attack. Regular Ajah members would have no reason to learn attack weaves. Saying they are quick at defense has no bearing on whether they have learned and practised attack weaves. Black Ajahs can use the One Power to attack so they learn and practise how to do it. I'm just saying, using the TV show only, regular Ajah people take AGES to attack. Apart from the Greens (battle ajah), the Reds (who were excluded but were well used to taking down male channelers) and the Amyrlin who has that instant 'gonna spike you if you get too close' weave But a weave has to be learned and practised. None of them ever expected to be attacked. Most of them are just doing admin. I mean. Even cleaning water took ages!
-
They didn't have their Warders in there, to protect while they were working up their weaves. Can you remember how long it took Moiraine to do anything with the One Power. Just as well Lan was such an awesome fighter cos she'd have been cut down before she got a fireball off. The Black Ajah has been used to using the One Power in violation of the Three Oaths. If I had had someone coming towards me and had the choice of spending a good few seconds weaving something up, and being vulnerable while I did it, or just battering them with a big stick then I'd choose the big stick too. I think it all just went to show how unprepared and over confident they were. They had NO idea what they were up against. #hubris

Also that dance around the subject she had with Liandrin and the White asparagus still makes me laugh 😃
-
Verin is a sneaky sneak who just seems to know that Liandrin is a bad, and that compulsion was used in the book of novices (allegedly) and wouldn't swear an oath of goodness to Moiraine and also made sure that Rand was set free. ... You gotta be subtle when you're planning a shock reveal.

There are many paths to the Shadow. If the Forsaken don't know what each other are up to, then having factions in the Black Ajah also holds true.
