We rummage about a bit Story: You approach the remains of the Corrupted Hunters, cautious, hand resting on your belt in case the dark essence lingers. Two of the bodies are reduced to little more than burnt robes and cracked bone, but the third—the one that resisted—left behind something solid. You kneel beside its twisted form. Amid the charred cloth and seared flesh, you find a blackened talisman made of twisted iron, pulsing faintly with a sickly violet glow. The Codex pulses with warning but does not reject it outright. You retrieve the talisman using a cloth from your pack and examine it carefully. Item Found: Witherbrand Talisman Cursed Object – Contains trace dark essence While carried: Slightly attracts darkspawn (higher chance of random encounters) Grants +1 insight into dark-aligned enemies during battle (exposes weaknesses, resistances) Codex suggests: “May be purified, destroyed, or reforged with Spirit magic.” You also uncover a scrap of parchment, half-burned and scrawled in erratic script: “The weaver walks. The tide trembles. The Eye is watching.” Updated Stats: HP: 25 / 27 EP: 17 / 17 Elemental Strengths: Water: 19 | Fire: 12 | Spirit: 13 | Air: 2 | Earth: 2 Inventory Additions: Witherbrand Talisman (Cursed – attracts darkspawn, grants dark insight) Scrap of Prophecy (Codex registered – possible cult involvement) Veilbrand Ascendant: Cooldown still active (1 encounter) Outcome of the Choice: You found a cursed talisman left behind by the Corrupted Hunters, offering potential strategic value—but at the cost of greater danger. You've also uncovered a prophetic warning that suggests your path is now being watched. Next Choices: Continue toward the Skyreach route, talisman in hand, prepared for further ambushes. Attempt to purify the Witherbrand Talisman using Spirit magic. Rest and meditate, allowing your Codex and glyphs to recover before continuing. Contact the Guardian via the Codex about the talisman and the prophecy. Destroy the talisman immediately, refusing to carry its corruption any farther. -

Unleash! Battle Update: You plant your feet on the mossy bridge and extend your hand. The Riverstone Amulet pulses against your chest. The Codex flares open—light spiraling from your Water and Spirit glyphs as the fused magic ignites. You cast Veilbrand Ascendant. A wave of cleansing water and burning light surges from you in a wide spiral, striking all three Corrupted Hunters as they charge. The first hunter is instantly vaporized, reduced to ash and steam. The second howls, its corrupted skin sloughing away under the surge of cleansing force—it collapses, stunned. The third resists briefly, but the spell’s burn-over-time ignites its limbs. It stumbles backward into the stream, where the water itself rejects its dark essence and finishes it. As the steam clears, only silence remains. Your glyphs dim slightly, and the Codex cools in your hand. The road is safe again—for now. Battle Outcome: Victory: Corrupted Hunters defeated +2 Fire EXP, +2 Water EXP, +1 Spirit EXP Veilbrand Ascendant now on cooldown for 1 encounter Minor fatigue from intense magic use: -1 HP Updated Stats: HP: 25 / 27 EP: 17 / 17 Veilbrand Ascendant: Cooldown active (1 encounter) Elemental Strengths: Water: 19 Fire: 12 Spirit: 13 Air: 2 Earth: 2 Inventory: (unchanged) Codex Note Added: “Darkspawn along eastern path defeated. Essence suggests larger corruption ahead.” Outcome of the Choice: You obliterated the enemy with the full power of Veilbrand Ascendant, but its use has signaled your strength—and possibly drawn more attention from the dark force awakening in the land. Next Choices: Continue toward the Skyreach route, staying alert for further ambushes. Stop to rest and recover Veilbrand Ascendant before pushing on. Search the fallen hunters for clues or corrupted relics. Contact the Guardian via the Codex, reporting the ambush. Mark this place on your map, in case it holds lingering corruption. -
Oh. Well that would be acceptable lol

I imagine it would be an absolute nightmare to keep it clear of sand. Is that Alcair Dal? Cos I thought that was supposed to be a natural amphitheatre of stone. If Alcair Dal is a Stone slab surround by sand dunes then I'm gonna be puzzled, cos shifting loose sand is a sound muffler and not an acoustic wonder. Plus all the sweeping off of the sand that I mentioned before.

Yeah enough testing let's do something So we exit the water temple and head towards the air temple Story: With the final visions of the Sealed Sanctum etched into your memory, you fasten your pack, secure your Codex, and step away from the glowing platform. The Temple of Still Waters hums behind you—a completed chapter in your journey. As you cross back through the threshold, the gentle mists recede. The door closes silently behind you, leaving no visible seam. The sanctum will sleep again… but its mark remains with you. You follow the forested path eastward, your pace swift, your glyphs glowing faintly beneath your robes. But something is different now. The wind carries a tension—a subtle wrongness curling around the edge of the trees. Birds are silent. The sky darkens unnaturally. The dark force has felt your presence. Random Encounter Triggered: Ambush on the River Trail As you cross a stone path over a running stream, shadowy figures burst from the underbrush—humanoid, but with eyes like dying embers and movements like marionettes. Their skin is laced with black veins pulsing with dark essence. They bear no words. Only the intent to destroy. Corrupted Hunters (3 enemies) Fast and aggressive melee fighters Immune to emotional spells, weak to cleansing and elemental burst damage Battle Options – Choose One: Use Veilbrand Ascendant to cleanse and burn them in one wide strike. Cast Emberlash to sear the closest foe and trigger your flame augments. Activate Soul Veil to locate their leader or hidden weaknesses. Use a Firegem to boost your next spell and turn the tide. Retreat across the stream and lure them into narrow terrain for better defense. Current Stats Before Battle: HP: 26 / 27 EP: 17 / 17 Spell Book Highlights: Veilbrand Ascendant (Level 3) – ready Emberlash, Soul Veil, Boiling Lance, and more Elemental Strengths: Water: 17 | Fire: 10 | Spirit: 12 | Air: 2 | Earth: 2 Inventory: Firegems (3) Wavefruit Ration (1) Waterskin of Endless Refreshment (3 uses) Riverstone Amulet (equipped) What will you do? -

Still not feeling any better? Have you taken anything to help? Like we have Lemsip and paracetamol to help with sleep and fever etc. You probably should just go to sleep for a bit and set an alarm for later. -

Good morning game 🙂 -
Very well. Here are my thoughts but I still think that this would be best served by discussing it in a thread that shows the new points you wish to make. Surely that's a more organic way to discuss than coming back to a 7 or 8 week old thread and saying, 'and another thing!' like Columbo I do believe that Rand is right and that the Aes Sedai do not know all the ways of the One Power or how it may be used. The show showed his discussion with Moiraine to emphasise this. The White Tower has become a faded system, where girls are taken in young, before they may have even begun to Channel, and then taught that to do a specific thing you must move your hand this way and mix the elements that way and you must practise this specific thing lots and lots.before you will ever get it right. You can see how decades, or even centuries, of this belief has weakened the skills and knowledge of the Aes Sedai when having their hands chopped off prevents them from using the One Power. And so it can be shown that belief does over ride will, if that belief is strong enough. They do not like Wilders who figure stuff out by themselves because they just really really want to do a thing and then do it. So if a young girl has spent her life in the Tower, being indoctrinated with all the things that it is impossible to do, and no-one ever felt the need to teach her attack weaves or even defence weaves because she becomes Grey or Brown or a non exploring/battle Aes Sedai then her own ingrained belief system makes it impossible to create anything she has not been shown, learned, practised and perfected. Then move on to those that have not been brought up in this system. Or even those who first touch the Power. They have not been taught what they can and can't do. They have their own strength of connection and the will to survive/help So an untrained Nyn has so much power and wants to heal and help so much that she will do anything and she connects and does whatever she can with her level of power. And she can do a lot. Two young girls see the man that killed their mother. They connect to the power in vengeance and he burns. Daise Congar (forgive me if I spell things wrong, but you know the new wise woman) sees the weaves and realises she also has a connection to this Power. No one tells her what is possible or impossible and so in a moment of need she wishes to protect and a shield forms. But she doesn't know ow how to maintain it or what she actually did and the arrows/spears break it apart piece by piece and it falls. Llandrin, in her fear and despair of seeing someone wanting to take her child and kill them screams in defiance and touches the power and takes her attackers down. In these instances where seemingly impossible things happen, they seem to me like those people who suddenly have the strength to lift a car off a trapped person. The absolute raw need is there, they've never been told it is impossible and so it is not impossible. And so I still believe that the WT rigid control and training system is their own worst weakness. They believe it is impossible to do anything new unless they are shown, learn, practise and succeed. Which at least 'some' of the people in that room may never have had to do with attack or shield weaves because why would they? It's the WT right. Safest place in the world. And that is my thoughts and my opinions and why I think what happened may have happened. I do not believe that you can use the actions of what other 'untouched and untrained' people can do when they reach out with hope and fear and strength to show that the very first section of this whole series was wrong. I see that you feel that you are unhappy because you feel people are not listening to you. Sometimes I think it may be because they do not agree with you. So, what were you hoping to achieve by bumping this Thread? What is your goal? You say an open discussion. I believe you want to win. And that's a silly thing to want on an Internet forum. Adios amigo.

Dude, give it a rest. It's like you just want to argue. It's not a discussion cos other people give their thoughts and you just say, 'no'. It's exhausting. What do you hope to achieve?
