The little things that struck me with Laine haven't outweighed a general good vibe with her.  I think prior to Belichick I'd be solidly town reading her.  I mulled over Zander for a while today--posts are a few pages back--and I ultimately have to give his push on me a town nudge.  Head over gut there, I'd say, if that makes any sense.  As for you, I really don't believe a lot of what you've said to me is honest.  You're not getting lynched today so there's plenty of time to adjust.  In a game where you're mostly getting town read I'm happy being the person who doesn't give you a smooth pass.

On the good cop/bad cop note that you were speaking on, I don't think we've reached that stage nor did we in Belichick until around D2 iirc. Day One I was scum reading you pretty solidly until you started to make more keen observations. Could still be the case here, but I really dislike how you started this game and some of your later progressions. I've noted a few times that you seem to be more readily town reading players throughout the game for not so good reasons, which I don't understand. You wanted to town read Kivam early on for the character claim thing, which we discussed. You wanted to give Crusher some towncred because his focus was mostly on Nyn/Kivam. Later Zander for being 'too dumb to be scum' which is terrible reasoning considering his push on you and how you're seemingly looking for the 'wolf on your wagon'. Like you're lenient on Zander yet want to cast shade on Calder when he actually makes good observations regarding your interactions with him? 

 

Right now your bottom scum reads look to me like a pile of OMGUS.

I think Shad may just be having a rough start but I'm a little annoyed he's trying to scum read me for what I'm going to boil down as not having his back early on. His arguments sucked, plain and simple. Like I don't even feel the need to read them in depth to make that sort of statement.  The way he dove down the rabbit hole to immediately try to make Calder look as scummy as possible were bad imo and something I don't associate with the laid back, observant sort of townShad I have worked with in the past. Maybe he's still just adjusting to how to engage early on when confronted directly versus being able to sort of coast and point out things that come to him. The interactions between Shad/Calder/Nyn was all talking in circles and I really am having trouble reading anything from it one way or another. I got halfway through these pages and wanted to vig you all.

On a serious note... I don't really understand your read list. I don't remember much of anything game related from dice, Halli, Nolder, Thane or Crusher .... don't really get why they're not all in your null pile. Explain?  and since you're all pouty about it, I will ask why you have Thane as red? Enlighten me.

 

Also I would pretty much never have AJ as a green this early in the game, but if you can read him so easily, good for you?. The one thing that makes me maybe feel slightly okay about him is Laine's prod. But it's not much. And I wouldn't have Clov that low either.

 

 

I prolly only agree about the Calder placing at this point. And I would have Shad lower.

 

1 - those greens are very light greens for a reason.  AJ's approach to this game, so far, has been townsided, and he's called out the right things, so he can be provisional town (you know me, all D1 reads are HIGHLY provisional).  Nolder has essentially been townNolder for D1.  The "doing the thing" post isn't one I'd expect from scumNolder, who tends to play a bit more self-conscious.

 

2 - Hally and Dice are in the null pile because they've done nothing thus far.

 

3 - Crusher is doing his "jokey no content" dance that he does more as scum than town, which is especially odd given how eager he was for another game (he was pushing for one last one on JN, too).  But he is a light scum lean because it's D1 and that fits with townCrush as well.  It's more something to keep an eye on as the game goes on; if he stays in this mode D2, I'll be seriously concerned.  (And no, this isn't something I'd rather sit back and let develop, because few ppl here have played with Crush enough for me to want to take this to my grave if I die N1, and I'd rather have scumCrush adjust and be caught for content than risk that)

 

4 - Shad would be lower were it not for the niggling suspicion that Calder/Shad is v/v violence.  His reaction fits for scumShad (very similar to his Usual Suspects reaction) but also for a townie who is getting misread and tunneled by someone he's never played with before.  (Your jump-on, on the other hand, looks a bit opportunistic)

 

5 - Thane feels very much off.  His entry to the thread is not the entry I've seen multiple times now from townThane [even his bartending seemed obligatory], and he strikes me as a player who enjoys the game much less as scum than as town.  I don't understand that, but the change in his behavior fits with that mentality, and if that's what's happening, I like Thane enough as a human being to want to put him out of his misery.

 

Probably move Kivam up with this post. He feels a lot more honest and forthcoming than he does as scum. I'll take that as a good sign.

 

I also don't think I remember anything from Hally, Dice, or Thane thus far.

Nyn, the red is verbiage that it doesn't make any sense for any townie to use under any circumstances, ever. A townie doesn't "feel that" they've been legitimately scumhunting, they simply do it ... and say so straight out.

 

Reading back and seeing this again, this looks like the "wrongly fingered scum's" lament ["how dare townie scumread me for doing ABC; yeah, I am scum, but that's exactly what I'd do as town, so they're wrong!"]. 

 

Does Batmanning the shit out of this game count?  That is a nice little pick up that not even sure I would notice if you didn't point it out.  What I did notice was the pressure she added to the Calder/ Chad thing that did not seem like scum hunting.  Again less inquisitive that I associate with town Nyn and more antagonistic that I don't.
