OK, genuinely not liking the byplay between Sili and Hally there

I don't even understand what this means tbh

Step 1: Sili says he finds looking crosseyed at someone for following through on what they said they were going to do in a signup thread is scummy

Step 2: I'm wondering if that's really his thought process or he's just looking for someone to FoS, so I ask for his view on Hally doing the same thing to me

Step 3: He says "oh, that's different because [explanation I don't follow at all]"

Step 4: Hally says "yep, that's why it's different"

Step 5: You townread Hally for it.

???

*shrug*

I haven't caught up, therefore I'm using conjecture to fill in the blanks. It seems Laine dislikes hydras. And when I said her approach was unimpressive I meant I was watching her therefore.

I think you are still voting AJ right? Well, a vendetta is fine normally, but when it interferes with game play it is bad. I get the sense Hallia feels it is bad because you stuck with your vote. PRobably she feels as though Laine is genuine.

For my own part, I have not decided, but what Mish said didn't fit what I saw.

Genuine is easy to fake, I get fooled by it all the time. Consistency is where it's at and Laine has been consistent on hydracism

Also, since joke stage is over, I'll:

[v]Unvote[/v]

I'm also not sure where the content is in the game. It looks a lot like reasoning based off of knowledge of meta, which I have no knowledge of. Anyone want to tell me what I can do?

28 players, there's going to be a lot of past knowledge based-reads going on. Take advantage of not knowing anyone to catch scummy things we're passively accepting as normal.

Like, I'm just following my gut through half of this because keeping track of what everyone says would be chaos.

How else would you do it?

Also did nol just show up?

You know I analyze things until my brain explodes.  I'm going to relax a bit in this one.

1. They are completely different. I never said I found Laine scummy. I said I disliked it. There is a difference.

2. You are putting words in my mouth. I never said Hallie was villagery for fos'ing you, but I think I get the distinction she makes.

There are different standards for you and Laine, therefore I do have a double standard and that double standard is CORRECT.

1) OK.  I read "dislike" as alignment indicative rather than philosophical disagreement

2) Which carried over to this.

As for double standards ... I'm flattered, I guess

Do you have anything more to add...?

Sili, don't make me loose my mentor already, a couple of days with him and I might actually end up as a decent player.

Darthe, I kinda love your signature since it's Cory, but I kinda hate it since moving gif times several on one page and I'm on a 4G wifi.

And I'm caught up.  Yay.

Sili is town
Rizen said things I like
Mish thing is null
Hallia thing is null
Wish-tree's opening jokes felt a little forced but whatever
Zander pinging me

@Nyna: So, are you going to answer my question seriously now?

You could technically read old games to get a grasp on meta, but considering the sheer amount of players in this game, it would take ages and I wouldn't recommend it. I think meta is used a lot more on D1. Once the games progresses, cases shift more towards content and less on meta. So it won't be such a gap going forward. As for now.... if someone mentions a player's meta and absolutely no one disputes it, you can more or less rely on it, IMO.

How is that supposed to help us if we are new here? D1 isn't all about meta though as it's a new time to force new reads on a totally different game.

I like you.

Unfortunately, mafia on DM is primarily meta driven lately.  It's silly, since half the time people get the meta wrong (for instance, I've basically been scum my last few games here and few people have played with me as town, so stuff I do all the time is likely to get meta'd as "that's what you do as scum!") and the better players can keep their meta consistent across alignments anyway.  Just make reads and judiciously factor in any meta commentary you do get, and you'll be fine

I see. I just find it odd that she was suggesting reading a whole game instead of like interact with people in thread.

I don't think that's particularly odd for Nyn to suggest considering it's something she knows people to do

I think it's just a cultural thing

Not only do I know that people do it, I sometimes do it myself when in doubt (and when motivation strikes).

Great, 15 pages already. Ollie is playing swat the phone out of my hands and I won't be around for long, catching up on what I can.

Bet you can't teach him to say [v]Kivam[/v] before I can teach mine to say [v]Shad[/v]

Are you voting here? I can't tell.

NOW THAT'S SOME GOOD MODERATION.

Nope, that was banter, not a vote.  Excellent way of clarifying an otherwise ambiguous post.

(Stopping now, I promise)

this still......
