fwiw the one thing i had a real problem with was that modtroll post on d1 where Yates said "and i'll be giving the seer their n0 peek when d1 starts"

which probably had no effect on the game but had the potential to do serious damage to villager seer cover

darthe defused it pretty well, but a savvy wolf (of which we had 3 of in this game) would have known kaylee and tress couldn't be seer by default because they believed yates was telling the truth and "modified" their cover to fit his

i know this can be "worked around" but it's still the mod influencing the game in a way that's ultimately pro-wolf for his own amusement / amusement of DT

just a reminder that players playing this silly internet mafia game put a lot of time and investment and don't have perfect information and sometimes do not get a "joke" that might seem obvious to the moderator, so it's probably for the best to try not to spew anything as a moderator JIC

It was a fun curve ball to try and maintain my cover around though.  TBH I thought Kaylee was the cop.

Lol I actually did rand Russo.  That's pretty great.

I actually didn't modify my seer cover at all.  Darthe was never intended to be my peek, lol...  I was just irritated that he was coming across as obvtown to me right out of the gate (although arguing for leaving fake peeks earlier in the day really did have me questioning that read) because #OperationTownWin demanded Darthe be dead no later than D2.  THANKS MAFIA!

I was always going to wait until closer to end of day to leave it, and do what I did with AJ, which is what he did with Verbal - pick someone who wasn't my top town read and obvious to everyone in the thread, but I thought more likely to be town and YOLO it.

doofus

sorry i got frustrated at you d1, you really got your head on straight d2+ after and were super valuable so you made it up to me in spades :)

Honestly I'm glad Leelou was the seer and not Tress like I was starting to think. Wombat flipping wolf helped a lot, obviously, but the blue peek on you finally allowed me to let go

I guess I'm still dealing with emotional trauma from that VS game lol

Ditto on Tress and emotional trauma... coughPoniesandShinycough...

  And that's why I ended up blowing my seer cover anyway - because I knew if I was actually seer, there is no possible world in which I didn't view Cass N1, and I wanted her to be town so bad that I guessed wrong

I wasn't expecting people to start dropping seer cover and voting before game start. That was supposed to be a reminder that the game hadn't started yet...

I guess it's pretty unique since the vanilla 13er set-up is not common here, so no harm no foul

If we run one of these again (and I hope we do I lurve them very much) I would make sure to specify when the n0 peek is delivered so the wolves can't modgame based on peek timing

Thanks for modding!

Pretty sure I'm going to do this format for the White Tower's annual Harry Potter Mafia game, coming up late July, since I'm responsible for it.  Eva'one keep an eye out for signups!

gonna lunch you all up

I had thought those were typos before, and now I realize you're purposely saying it like that.

Oh wait WT has those "best behavior don't cause problems" type rules

A cory-free zone, one might say

They are probably the most strict of groups on DM, yeah.  But you'll be fine there, no worries.

Cass would have prolly have gotten lynched early on if it wasn't for Tress, me and Darthe defending her.

Yup,  (and I knew it too. So frustrating).

I wouldn't feel bad about it she's a sneaky wolf and not easy to lunch

She had tremendous heart this game tbh

Just got boxed out by a strong village

For Cory's eyes only:

I totally believed you'd pick AJ first!

good good game.

I like the way you did deadline, Yates. I think it was a lot fairer to people who can't be online all the time and easier to keep track of.

how do you think the no night talk no day QT affected play?

Posted

i didn't like deadline for the record. I think that when majority hits, the day should end. I think there were a lot of dead moments where we were just waiting around.

Day chat for wolves is a powerful tool imo. I haven't read their QT yet but generically I think it certainly affects the team dynamic.

Not being able to post at Night wasn't a big deal to me. Can be a little worrisome I suppose if you think you're a NK target and can't get out your final thoughts post lynch. I liked it because it gave me the chance to catch up at different points

No night chat is super vital in vanilla games in order to give the wolves time to seer hunt

If villagers could ALL leave cover near end of night and the wolves had to shoot blind before that despite the seer getting his peek out anyway, the game would be broken over the back for the village

I had over 300 posts. That's pretty rad. Also I can't remember when I last won as town AND was still alive lol
