Well I do not know if that would be a good or bad thing. I mean it might be exciting to see WOT as a movie but then again I think I would end up being sorely disappointed. Movies are never as good as the book. Plus with a book series that is so long it would be hard to make a movie that followed the plots and refraining from cutting too much. If the movie was good then Yay! but I think making a WOT movie with out cutting half of it would be very hard. Plus there is a ton of One power scenes and I think with special effects it may make some of the scenes cheezy.

Let us hope is is a series of movies (theater or mini series) look at what they did to the great stories of Patrick O'Brian. A great series of books made into one no so good movie. It takes a long series to develop the characters. Let them grow from the innocent Two Rivers village people into the fighting force required to fight the DO. 8)

A series will not have the budget to impress all of the Jordan fans, and a movie will cut out sections of the story. Plus a series could be cancelled... not a good thing. I agree with the movie, since it would be cool to see it on the big screen, even if they only do EoTW like they siad they would. Another detail is they want to do real life, not animation. I for one think it'd be really cool to see an animation movie done (FF, Advent Children) especially since you could make things see more plausible (Siuan and Leane losing 20 years after a stilling? that'll take alot of makeup)

There are many ways to "hide" the nudity that appears in the white tower, via tricky camera work, while still maintaining an R rating. And what would be so bad about an r rating?

Not like children can't handel watching saw 2 at age 8 :P *though dumanies well would be a rather, bloody awesome seen to see.*

When it comes to filming, all you would need to do is film it from the rear, thus not exposing anything, while maintaining a non "porno" ranked film. And hey, who wants to see 90 year old breasts? Well.. more like 300 year old but you know what I mean!

Except Red Eagle Entertainment is making it into a movie and Robert Jordan is very excited about it. So.......... yeah.

Read the March Locus

And if they don't, then I'll just have to do it for them.

MUHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!

Realistically, they could probably fit it into a series of 7 movies. A lot of the plot and storyline after Fires of Heaven is merely padding. You could possible condense 4 or 5 books into 2-3 films and not lose anything. A Harry Potter type series would be plausable.

If they should decide to do it in animation, they should give the project to Blizzard. They make the best movie clips. Don't know how long it would take though?

I agree. Final Fantasy do have great graphics eventhough the characters look too ANIME. But everything else is just too corny for me. I mean the storylines and choreography.

 I LOVE Final Fantasy! Especially 7, that one's the best. The plot line in that one is great, and the characters are fantastic.

But I don't think they should do these movies in animation. Live action would be so much cooler.

Well, the thing about anime, or 3d, Is they can do many many things that they just can't do in realtime movies. Forinstance, Channeling.. On the bigscrean real time movie, that would look corny as hell.. But in anime and there style! that would look sweeeet!

I dk, i think they could easily do saidir and saidin with special effects in real time. Either way its a long way into the series before any ture weaving is done, i.e. for the first book even when channeling is done they don't describe they weaves.

Personally, I think the movies would be great. I mean look at Lord of the Rings movies. Now they do not have all that the books have but they are still damn good. Now, i do not think it should be animated because that would just ruin it compleatly. As far as buget goes. Movies, like these would be, would get tons of sponsers to help out with that, i think that if the WOT is going to be movies then they better make them with the same love and devotion that the people making LOTR did, because it deserves no less.

If you're talking about making the series into a live action film, you are talking about an incredible commitment from the actors. You can try to break the books down so you don't have to make 12 films, but even then...

TEotW - 1 movie

TGH & TDR - 1 movie

TSR - 1 movie

TFoH - 1 movie

TLoC - 1 movie

ACoS & APoD - 1 movie

WH & COT - 1 movie

KoD - 1 movie

AMoL - 1 movie

That's 9 films and I was being pretty generous. even to do this a good deal of story will have to be sacrificed. That's not to say it isn't possible, but to shoot 9 Live Action films of this scale would take at least nine years. Then you have to consider the level of Special Effects that would be required. Post Production would be a mammoth undertaking.

I know they have done this with Harry Potter. I know all of those actors have committed to 7 years of work, but take a look at the Harry Potter films. They're ordinary at best - especially when compared with the books. The characters are all there, but the pacing is off and some of the acting is woeful. Would anyone really want to take the risk of seeing WOT transformed into a series of live action films if there is any chance they will be sub-standard? I'd just as soon keep rereading.

I do, however, see a great deal of potential in the idea of creating a series of animated films based on the WOT novels. There would be no overloaded work load for the actors. Their work would be one week out of the year for each film. Consistency would be easily achieved and the film making process would probably be less expensive. I just think it is a more viable possibility if it is to happen at all.

I do not agree that making animated films would ruin the series. Animation is a brilliant medium for storytelling, sometimes much more effective in transporting the audience to a fantasy world than live action can be. When I watch Star Wars, I can see the blue screen and the CGI. When I watch LotR I can see the prosthetics and recognise the locations. I can see (and not help but look for) evidence of how they accomplished thier movie-making tricks. With animation that is all taken away. No movie is real, so I fail to see how an animated version of a story can be considered to be ruining the story material.
