Game of Thrones Season 4 [Spoilers]

this scene was nothing more than build up, it was ttill good though.  the bit between Bernie and Pod was great *smiles*

i loved the exchanges with Tyrion, and was surprised HBO included the bit about Cersie from the Viper.  i figured with how much their tryign to show her as a sympatheitc character .. that they'd leave that bit out.

the bit with Arya was brilliant ^_^  i'm gonna be sad when the Hound dies, likely they'll use this bite wound to be the reason he gets sick an Ayra puts him out of his misery  (iirc though, it was a sword wound in the books right?? )

danny's story is starting to bore me ... which is right along with the books.

jons story needs to hurry up ...  i feel like HBO is dragging it out needlessly for some reason.

the red lady added scene was meh.

Sansa's scene, was about par with the book, i'm glad they sped up this arc, tho i thought Robin went flying with his mummy ....    i still dont see how Sansa lasted 5 books without being raped   niave little twit that she is.

Little Finger is just one of those people that wnts to watch the world burn imo.  sadistic phedophile that he is.  i can't wait until Sansa guts him; it will be a redeeming move for her character imo

Huh, they didn't really go into how she was basically the catalyst for the entire chain of events that went down. They eluded it, but didn't explicitly say she did it.

(Referring to her poisoning her husband.. and others that led to ned-stark's death)

That or I missed some low audio-dialogue that I tuned out...

She explicitly stated she poisoned Jon Arryn and sent the letter to her sister when Littlefinger first arrived and they met in the Great Hall a few episodes ago.

^ this ... though the show twisted her motives.  making it out that she poisoned Jon so that her and Little finger could be together and not because Jon was plannign to send Robin to be fostered by the Lannisters.

Yep, great acting again. You just got to feel for Tyrion. Even though he hates his sister, you can tell how bad it hurt him to know that even when he was a baby, she already wanted him dead. And Jaime was already protecting him too. Then his reaction when Oberyn said he'd fight for him... beautiful.

She never does kill him actually. She refuses to do so because she says he doesn't deserve an easy death. Incidentally, it's never been confirmed that he died.

Agreed, get Ygritte to the wall already. I want Jon to suffer some more  :baalzamon: .

This. Same as the Theon rescue scene. Pointless waste of time.

huh, i thought i recalled Ayra taking pity on him after seeing he wasn't as bad a guy as she thought.

as for the latter, we may not have seen it on screen, but its pretty much told to us in 3rd person.  iirc after the hound dies theres a guy running around pretending to be the Hound who has his helemt and claims to have gotten it off a dead body.

the only tickling i have that might suggest the Hound isn't dead in the books is the one guy we come across in DwD, that the monk dude on that island said he came across (i think he was talking to Sam)

Well unless we want them to catch up to the books way early, they'l need to add in things. I didn't mind the red lady scene, just strengthens the build up of the relationship between her and the "queen".

If someone didn't die on screen. They didn't die. That's rule #1 for martin.

Oh, and even when they do die they don't always stay dead.

The Hound is most likely the gravedigger on the Quiet Isle. His horse is there, and his horse won't let anyone else handle him. Plus the gravedigger is huge, larger than Brienne, and he keeps his hood up. The monk there says he's making penance for all the evils he's done in the past. When he talks to Brienne, he's very careful in saying that the Hound is dead, he specifically doesn't use the name "Sandor Clegane." When they took Sandor for healing, they left the helmet, and that was picked up by Rorge or Biter or whoever it was.

I haven't read the books, and the one time I did pick up a book, it was identical to the show (I'm told that has changed significantly).

However, I found the most recent episode and the purple wedding predictable.  That is one thing this series claims not to be.

They have to change the series slightly from the books for a variety of reasons (keeping actors in contract, story arcs for characters, budget, cutting chaff etc...) but all the major points are still there.

You may have predicted Joffreys death, but did you predict Tyrion being thrown into prison for it or Baelish running off with Sansa and her part in the poisoning? Or the Tyrells? Did you predict the it was actually Cats sister who killed Jon Arryn to start this whole thing off? What about everything else that happened in the episode? If you did you're a better man than me.

the fight was epic, just as good as it was in the book ^_^

sansa ...  hmmm ...  they're twisting her character ...  not sure if i like it or not.  she seems more like shes seducing little finger now , or atleast knows what he's after and is more than open to the idea, if you get my drift.   i dunno if i like them making her more competent in the shoe than she is in the books.  i still find her character irritating though XD

Arya was perfect though.  her cracking up at the hound was epic.  i laughed right with her.

i'll say this once again though.   we get ominous music when the imp is sentenced to death ...  but we get flamming carnival music when Jamie has his hand cut off.

WTF HBO?!

next weeks episode looks great ...  but RIP Yiggitte.  You knew nothing afterall. *sigh*  and i'm guesing the season finale we'll finally see if Tywin shits gold  XD

I like that Sansa is changing. It´s possible that we got to see what happens to her in next book. In ADWD she was still pretending to be LF´s daughter. (It was daughter in the book, right?)

Oberyn screaming as the Mountain is defacing him is going to give me nightmares....

Good episode though. But Littlefinger totally masterminded his weaseling out of murdering Lysa in the books. There was no Sansa helping him.

Loved, loved, loved this episode.

Seeing Dany chew out Jorad was awesome. Although I think that she's unfairly harsh, it's awesome to see Emilia Clarke do Danerys so perfectly. And, I've never liked Jorah. He's the worst kind of "nice guy" and it's grated on me that he never straight-out told Dany about the spying after the decided to quit. If he had the moment he decided to be on her side fully, she progably would have forgiven him. But to go so long and keep it secret... Yeah that's asking for trouble.

I'm intrigued about where Sansa will go. I rolled my eyes heavily at her get-up at the end there though.

Arya and the hound... Yeah, the hound is shit out of luck isn't he. I don't blame Arya laughing. Her last living relative suddenly isn't living anymore at all.

Doesn't suprise me the Hound didn't ask who was in charge though. The logical thing to think was that some lord of the Vale had taken over responsibility for Robin. Why would they think Littlefinger was actually there? And even if they figured it out; why would he want to sell Arya to the Lannisters? He's seen Littlefinger be the Lannisters' man. The hound wants to keep Arya away from the Lannisters, so logically he'd want to keep her away from Littlefinger. The common soldiers don't know a thing about Sansa.

I really love Missandei and Grey Worm. I feel like they are used to remind us that the small/common people are still living their lives behind all this.

Oberyn... Man, that was grisly. Yikes. I shouted at the screen just like I shouted at the book... "Kill first, gloat later!!!!!"

Only two episodes to go now right? :(

Didn't see it as her laughing at the Hound, more the universe in general. Everytime she gets closer to safety something comes along and ruins it. Last season the Hound even commented on her fear when she gets close to salvation. I think now she has just given up on ever getting back to any of her family and will be the deciding factor of going to Bravos.

lmao irk.  his face just screamed "mothers milk in a cup" to a perfect tee.

i recalled Peter claiming her as his daughter as well *nods*

see i disagree.  the look she gives Peter when the woman is hugging her, then the huaghty "i know everything" attitude in the bedroom when Peter confronted her, and her little comment of "i know what you want".  then the last scene where she walks down the stairs and what looked liek a fade out from Cat to her.

it all speaks to sansa realizing the situation and manipulating it of her own accord because she trusts him and, dare i say, even is starting to love him (in a stalkholme syndrome sort of sick way)

like i said, i can easily see them trying to turn Sansa into some powerful woman who manipualtes and seduces Littlefinger.  which is the total opposite of how she is in the books at this point (though at the end of DWD, she's starting to get her head out of her arse)

see, i saw it differently.  i can get the "laughing at karma taking a big dump on my life" aspect of her laughing, and agree to it.

but i think that she's also taking a lot of fun and glee in the Hounds situation.  here he is, carting her around half the world trying to ransom her up and everywhere he takes her the people end up not being alive.  and he hates carting her around and just wants a pay day off her to go crawl under a rock with a nice phat sack of cash; and instead he's having to continue escort her around the world.

she sees it as the Hound gettign a bit of justice that she herslef woudl like to give him, and is taking pleasure in his discomfort and being bitch slapped by karma as well.

knowing the type of character Arya is in the books, and seeing how true to form they've kept her in the show personality wise ...  i really think her laugh was more aimed at the Hound being shat on, rather than life shitting on her.  liek she said, she didn't even know her aunt, so therefor wouldn't feel a lose at her being dead (especially after the Red Wedding).  the Hound is the one who lost more on this one, and Ayra found it hilarious.

I felt that her laughter was both about the Hound and about her life. She has nowhere to go, except for Jon at the wall. I loved the Hound´s face too. lol

I felt sorry for Jorah (he is one of my favourites) but it´s his own fault for not telling her earlier.

I really look forward to the last two episodes, especially the last one since I´m not very fond of battles.

Exactly. But that's not how it went in the books. Here Sansa saved his ass, whereas in the books she has no importance whatsoever, and Littlefinger is still 3 steps ahead of everyone.

He should have told her earlier. But she's still stupid for sending him away. It's clear he sided with her quite a while ago. Obviously betrayal hurts and all, but she's got to put that to the side. I imagine he'll end up saving her in the books anyway, along with Tyrion. Maybe a little duel with Victarion.
