Dutch is like halfway between English and German. I kinda like it.

 

Although iirc Thorum is Flemish and that makes a difference somehow.

 

Dutch is WAY closer to German than to English.

 

"Flemish" is a complicated word. Right now, Flanders is the part of Belgium where only Dutch is an official language. With my now living in Brussels (bilingual), it basically means that I speak Dutch, but am still Belgian.

 

The "language" Flemish is difficult, since it doesn't actually exist. It's more like an accent in (at least) four dialects, at least three of which are also spoken in parts of the Netherlands (without that same accent).  One of the four is spoken by about half the Flemish population, two others are called West and East Flemish (and there's also a French Flemish, spoken in France  ). So, "Flemish" as a language doesn't exist.

And we of course also speak the standard Dutch language, with a few special words.

 

For example, I consider myself as speaking four languages: West-Flemish, Dutch, English and French. West-Flemish is definitely the worst of the four (since it's very influenced by Dutch), the other three are about equal (no, my Dutch ain't better than my English or French, since it's too influenced by my West-Flemish ).

Okay so first off I gotta say I'm a little disappointed not only in the activity drop off, but also that with a deadline now a day and a half away, there's more discussion about Dutch/Flemish/German language and dialects than there is about who is actually scum. Time to get back on track, town.

 

 

Why haven't your reads changed at all this game?  Is it because you can't be bothered to actually scumhunt?

 

I've been scumhunting. I think I've found our best bets at who to lynch.

 

 

You found those two reads literally after the first few pages. Have you not been paying attention to all the other stuff that has gone on in the game since then? And why do you continue to refuse to give reads on other players?

Upon reread, I'm getting a townvibe from Des and Ithi, and a scummy vibe from Thorum. That was my reread that I did this morning. I have notes here on my notepad, so I'm going to get some quotes to go with them.

Scum reads on Thorum this early are next to useless imo.

 

 

Why are you defending Thorum. This is the second time. I often mistake Thorum (just like I do with GF) because of the language but he has done several weird things so far. The way he questions our confirmed townie. He brings out the jester. His vote on you are weird too. Your meta is wrong because you are not as smart and that you protected Pralaya. He started by accusing you for that , then took it back but then used it as a reason to vote you.

 

 

Four things:

 

- I hate these quotes;

 

- The jester-option is relevant when someone basically asks to be lynched;

 

- We should stop talking about the disagreement of whether a mod is allowed to lie because all arguments have been discussed. Profoundly. We'll have to agree to disagree;

 

- Wombat's meta is wrong because in other games, he acts smarter. There were new developments in the Pralaya-defence-post, which made it less likely. Still the best lead we have, imo, so the vote stays exactly where it is. What's wrong with my language?

 

 

Jesters should pretty much never be discussed seriously imo.

 

As for Wombat, I haven't noticed his meta being "dumb" this game, so I'm not sure where you're getting that. And also, you distance from your vote on Wombat but at the same time say it's the best lead we have... I'm pretty sure there are a lot better leads than that.

 

@Tina: Of course me voting for Berf and pushing for a speedlynch wasn't meant to be taken seriously. I have been playing mafia longer than that, lol. I just noticed that the game was starting to slow down to a crawl and I wanted to get a couple of reactions from people, but it didn't really work out as planned. I disagree with Berf's cases, but so far I haven't seen any pingy play from him that could warrant a serious vote.

I unvoted from Basel because he finally came back in the game with a defense of his own. He is still sticking to his earlier reads from the start of the game, but I can't blame him for not having any new scum reads because I don't have them myself either, and there hasn't happened that much since then anyway.

 

I also found Thorum's play weird, but he was kinda acting the same way in the Harry Potter game in the WT and Wombat also mentioned that he is on his meta so I'm guessing it's nothing new for him to question a mod confirmed townie in a normal game :P

 

Right so I know I'll prob get called out for being a hypocrite, but w/e. Cloud, that didn't seem like a "trap" move to me, voting and talking about speedlynches. Furthermore, you in particular have seen some of your "trap" moves as town blow up in your face lately, so I don't really think you'd be pulling another one here. Still watching you.

Interesting that you focus on my use of ping when I tell you why you ping in the same post. They way you change your votes back and forth between Des and Berf is strange. Some of your reasons for voting Berf are also strange. He used the word scum and he said mafia instead of the mafia. Week reasons. You are hiding behind being bored. Like you can do whatever just because of that. The only reason that I doubt that you are mafia is the way you came out and claimed god.

 

You seem to have given a really nice long list of why you are suspicious of me. I seem to have done an awful lot that should make you think I am Mafia - but I claim God and thus you doubt that I am Mafia.

But you still felt the need to make that nice big list of reasons.

Damn, someone noticed that discrepancy in Cloud's defense of mine 

I virtually always play the same, whether town or mafia. In the HP game, I did not at one point in time, and it nearly got me lynched. I'm not doing that again. My meta is always the same, and always gets me lynched in the first few days.

 

The fact we were both mafia in that game is, however, a big reason for now voting wombat. The way he played there, how he tried protecting his fellow mafia, is a copy-paste of what he did here to Rory. I could follow his ploys, knowing them, in that other game. It looks like he's using the same ones here.

 

Erm, but you don't know whether or not Rory is actually scum in this game or not, so you can't exactly compare the two situations, can you? Why not vote for Rory first, to determine whether or not he's scum, which can then tell you if you're right or not on Wombat? It's like you automatically assumed Rory to be scum, then used that assumption to lead yourself to voting for Wombat, without first verifying your original hunch on Rory.

Terrible filler post. You just hop in to say we shouldn't lynch you, but me or Basel instead, all without giving any reasons, and then try to use activity levels to fear-monger town into doing what you want.

So with activity dropping down like it has, I gotta say I'm not feeling too good about town pulling off a good lynch for the day. Have a feeling there will be all kinds of rush votes at the deadline, making it harder to analyze votes later on. For now tho, I'm still thinking Basel is the way to go today. Getting anything out of him has been like pulling teeth (he STILL hasn't given reads on any other players, commented on anything that's happened after the first few pages, or told us if he's human, god, or titan). I still think he's trying to be less active in the hopes that someone else will get themselves lynched instead of him.

Those of you who know me in the Band know im a Fighter not a Lover. Well in this game i AM a Lover. One who I think has been betrayed. 

 

I am also an Oracle. I am allowed to ask the Mod questions about the setup but can only get up to 2 words in answer. It also has to be info he would have known before characters were filled.

 

So far I know that there are 4 mafia team members. That team is ALL gods. I also asked if the major gods were the mafia. They are.

 

There is also no recruiting.

 

There are 4 Titans. They are all TOWN.

 

there is 1 third party

 

there is 1 vig

 

there is no SK

 

There IS a Godfather

 

the only teams in the game are Town, Mafia and the Lovers.

 

Now as for why i am coming forward When I asked was my lover town i was given PAFO. When i questioned it the response leads me to believe my Lover is 3rd party at best mafia at worst. And no the mod did not say anything definite. However he claimed in the QT to be the Town Coroner. I dont believe that as I cannot see a coroner being third party.

As per this distroys the part of the reason I remember to vote Des. Unless Des and dice are both mafia, which I have a hard time believing.

 

I think your lover should come out himself.

 

Does your PM say anything about the alignment of your lover? If not, what's the advantage of you having a lover?

Holy bazonkas that's a lot to process. I have to believe the claim cause I don't think there's any way you could have come up with that much stuff as a lie. It is incredible however, that RTE put a role so OP in the game. Whelp, this should be pretty easy.

I say you should out your partner/Lover. It's already pretty common to see mixed couple a lot as Lovers, and you getting a PAFO to that question when so many other questions were answered is pretty iffy to say the least. And even though we'll prob lose you, you've already given us so much we'll have gotten great use out of your role either way.

 

I'm also kinda surprised to find out that the Titans in this game are town. Since we know how many there are, I say they come forward and reveal themselves. We'll either get 4 confirmed townies off the bat, or else one or more of the mafia will try and cc and slip in and we will have good leads on other scum.

 

Was also nice to see myself vindicated bout the mafia=gods thing

If you are a Lover ... and you think the other Lover is a Mafia, and you tell us and we Lynch them, that generally means that you will die too.

 

That being said - you have done an amazing job of getting so much information with regards to the game set up, and your death and coroner's report will verify all of it.

 

I have this half memory of the God of the Underworld being married to a Goddess from Olympus - but I could be wrong. I am sure you know who you are and have researched who your Lover may be.

 

I would say go for it. I don't think you would offer yourself up to die unless you had good reason.

Thoughts incoming after some other odds and ends. Interesting. My initial thought is that the titans should stay SHUT UP so they don't attract mafia attention.

 

We don't need confirmed towns yet. Having them out in the open so early will only help mafia I feel.

 

As to this lover thing - more thought required. If you are town they can't NK you obviously if the other Lover is mafia... But if they is town, they NK you and get two for one. Hrmm.

 

But Oracle AND Lover? Indeed. Someone with more knowledge of the subject can probably find a 'character' that fits those two roles.

I initialy thought that - but then I figured that if Dice is fibbing then it's going to be very obvious when this Lover Person is not Mafia and Dice is still alive.

Cassandra was an Oracle. She was technically the possession of Apollo - and was gifted with the ability to see the future. But she spurned him and was doomed to never be believed.

 

I don't know if Apollo would be classed as Bad - but he certainly was not forgiving lol. I also have this weird feeling that Despo would be Apollo if I'm guessing right - as he said it would be very ironic when I called him Cassandra that time.
