Well played you guys. I won't spoil it for Darthe, but this setup was actually pretty cool.

 

 

I'll be interested to find out what happened in a few cases. What was the scum wincon? I did indeed have an ability like I described, but the mods wouldn't tell me whether I can capture the busdrive. Can we get a breakdown of night actions and resolution?

Out of curiosity, would town have lost if Nolder hadn't been mod killed?

Personally, I think so. It threw a pretty big wrench into some plans.

Right.  Nolder was just a number to you guys.  And in case you forgot, we modkilled Razen at the same time as Nolder.  And we'd previously modkilled Ree.  I actually wanted to modkill more people, including some scum.

 

It's impossible to say what would have happened to the game if we hadn't modkilled who we modkilled but to imply that the balance was severely affected is just sour grapes.

While it is abit of sour grapes, 1 mafia member does not equal one town member so yes mod killing a mafia ((which you were completely in the right to do and I'm not saying it was a bad or unfair move at all.)) did actually do a good amount of damage. They knew who holder has defended and attacked before helping make more logical decisions.

 

Again I'm not contesting you decision. It was a good one, you were sticking to your guns as a mod and that's good. Im glad you did. But number or not he was an important number. Sorry if that came off as rude but I didn't have much time to type this.

Scum wincon was that they had to insure that town could not win.  It wasn't a numbers thing by and large and this was important to help reduce a bit of swinginess in the game.  Basically it was necessary because we couldn't avoid swinginess due to.. you :tongue: and not knowing how the town would react to multiple threads (we accounted for a lot but it still went worse than expected so our bad guys!).  All the info coming soon.

 

In unrelated news, I would especially like to thank Prelaya, Serra, and Mr. Ree for bringing new blood to DM mafia.  Having you guys here has been grand and each of you (while able) were wonderful to have around!  Hope to see you in the next game.

I would have preferred not to kill, but the town couldn't afford the inactivity and thus it would have created a mafia bias (so swingy, seriously)... Likewise, if the mafia didn't have a clean game then things were destined to fall all to hell quick.

The town was a series of people who were semi confirm-able to one another based on names, design, and what we expected to be cross thread setup gaming (Note the similarities of PR's).  Their only objective was to destroy all opposition.  They are represented by a T above.

 

The mafia was a group of three people together on a QT in each thread, communicating with one another and vastly in the minority for this game.  They didn't know much past this because if you check the theme they were actually just the pawns of the true threat in the game.. The Outsiders.  Before we get to them though, note that each mafia team had one traitor (a symp who has no way to be recruited in this instance).  This was put in for two reasons.  The first, we did not want to give the mafia much more power than they had but needed a seventh member for them and the second being that it provided a cover for the aforementioned Outsiders.

 

The Outsiders were the main anti-town faction of this game.  If you read the beginning of their QT posted above you can see the thematic reasoning behind this and underlying theme of the entire game.  Outsiders shared a QT (and alignment) and worked together across all three threads.  Outsiders could only gain 0 or 3 points in this game, their only goal was to assure that no other player won in all three threads.  THE ONLY POSSIBLE WAY FOR THEM TO DO THIS WAS TO ASSURE THAT THE MAFIA WON IN ALL THREADS.  Thus, they were indirectly affiliated with the mafia.  They would flip as traitors to protect them (who wouldn't speed lynch someone who flipped "Death - third party outsider" in all three threads?) and were given the identities of the mafia (including traitor) in each thread to aid them.  Beyond this Outsiders had some pretty unique abilities that I will share soon.  Mafia could kill them because essentially mafia had four traitors and three members, a fact that could have caused mafia disaster if played improperly.  Please note that while the Outsiders were separate from the mafia, we were willing to call a game when the two teams together were unbeatable without direct and constant crossfire because of how unfair that would be.

Serra, you are an outsider.  Your goal in the game is to insure that no individuals' team wins in all three threads.  The only way for this to possibly happen is for the mafia to win in all three threads.  Thus, while you are not mafia you know the names of the mafia in each thread. [/size]
 
Outsiders are beings of great power.  Your abilities are factional in nature[/size]
 
Firstly, each night, your team may decide to kill one player in one thread.  This kill cannot be used on the same thread or the same player on consecutive nights. [/size]
 
Secondly, each night, in each thread in which an Outsider is alive, your team may target one player.  If that individual has an ability used on them then that ability will not go through.  Instead, you will capture it.  Your team may hold up to three abilities at once and may use them as soon as you get them or until they are replaced.  The abilities can be used in any thread regardless of which thread they came from, however, they must be used on the same player for which they were intended.[/size]

Finally, should your faction lose significant numbers, you may find that you cannot hold as many abilities simultaneously as you could before.  [/size]
