@ALL, Pralaya needs a nickname.  I'm too lazy to type that but Laya is far too feminine for him and spelled wrong besides.  What do we call him?

That's what I thought too :D

Let's put it to vote! Or, Pral should be fine.

Heh, it seems everyone is sort of neglecting this thread/going for it last. I think my next run-through will be the other way around.

The other thing I don't like about that Serra post you quoted Tina is that it assumes that he would claim scum in another game to preserve himself in a diff one... but this would look worse imo since scum would be more interested in self preservation. Townies can still win even if they're mislynched, for scum its pretty pointless to giveyourself up day 1, hurts your team's chances of winning greatly.

I think Serra was ssuggesting it as a feux scumhunter post, trying to look like putting forth a reasonable-sounding idea while not really expecting Csarlami to out himself in any thread

Well, I was never very confident in it working to cause Csarmi to claim scum, but as I said elsewhere, "a guy's gotta try". I can see what you mean about me trying to gain towncred with it, but the line of reasoning for WHY someone should claim scum is actually sound, so I thought there's a chance it'd work. I didn't suggest scum should give themselves up freely, it's rather that if they'd be lynched anyway, they might as well save the other towns the mislynches. For example, the town in 2 would be better off if Csarmi had claimed where he's scum. Of course (again) that fails when people are scum in several games, but that should really only be a small proportion of people (unless of course Darthe has decided to let the scumteams overlap quite a bit...)

Well firstly I disagree that the theory was sound, as the likelihood of getting someone to out themselves would have to be taken into account when considering whether it was a good idea or not, and I also don't like the concept of letting him off the hook in 2 threads if he claimed scum in one.

Second I'm still noticing contradictions. First you say you weren't confident in the concept working, then you say you thought there was a chance it would work.

Finally, and here's one of my biggest problems with it: Why would scum Csarlami in one thread care two pebbles about town in the other two threads? All things being equal, it's normally more difficult to win as mafia than town, especially if you're being offered up for sacrifice so your smaller team could already lose one of it's members. It was an appeal to his conscience when his motivations very well may have been completely different from what you thought they should be. If I was scum in one thread and town in the other two, I'm naturally going to fight harder to stay alive and help my scum team than try and keep my town selves alive, knowing that there are more townies that can potentially pick up my slack should they mislynch me in the other 2.

How about Rorschach?

Vote Krak

That was the first vote by Tinker. Very random and not sure if it is a joke vote. Looks like he is starting a bandwagon right here.

And, more than that, no similar behaviour in the other two threads. Something is fishy.

Cool story. Bandwagon - "When someone adopts a popular point of view for the primary purpose of recognition and/or acceptance by others."

As far as I can see, I'm the only vote on Krak. I'll give you the newbie slip this one time. Use it well.

Wrong choice of words, I agree. Should have said "TRYING to start a bandwagon"

Any reason for the vote or was it just a joke?

How about Rorschach?

Let's see Darthe type that every time

I'ma call you Purr.

You can call me anything  :loial:

I wasn't confident, but thought there might be a chance. Where's the contradiction?

I was working under the assumption that each player would want to maximise their overall points. The way I see it, the choice isn't between 'survive as scum' and 'survive as scum', but between 'get lynched as town and scum' and 'get lynched as scum, but survive as town'.

Also: vote Despo

I have only one aim left in this game. To lynch him, no matter his alignment & role.

You guys can all die in a fire.

Rorschach was my first choice because it is a psych reference and a nickname, But I thought it was too long.

Still, if that's consensus I will do it.

For now I need to stop spamming my threads. Goodnight all.

Yeah cause that's such a protown mindset to have

I'm not protown anymore. As I told you, you guys can all die in a fire.

Just a friendly note though. If you're town, don't hammer me.

Bah, that wasn't meant to be a submit yet...

Ree, what do you disagree with about the Csarmi tri-lynch? Particularly Desp has been aptly making the point that being able to compare the 3 flips/wagons will be particularly useful.

I want to continue with this thread:

VOTE: Csarmi

I prefer going after people I actually read as scummy.

Yes, it's an interesting concept and yes I can see a way to help get better reads across the board but I haven't read him as particularly scummy. He may flip town across the board, he may not. I have to wonder about his new claim in T1 though.

@Darthe: Is there a wiki somewhere on possible roles or do they match up with MS for the most part?

Posted

I believe we tend to steal roles off MS. There may be variations on your roles though

if you go back a page or two on the mafia board there is a thread called "pete and lilys DM created roles " (or something similar. Not going to find it on my phonr)

Those are pretty much it and they arent teally used much nowdays

Hey, why you take my name off that quote in your siggy btw?

Yay! Finally caught up. I bet the other games has a lot of new posts now. :(

Peace misreps Ishy pretty badly by impying Ishy wants Nolder to stop posting. Also, peace wanting to start lynching Csarmi in this thread strikes me as a bit off. I think we might have Peace-scum wanting to get Csarmi-town lynched here before we hit Csarmi scum in 1 and/or 2.

So you think Peace votes Cs here because they are mafia together in another thread. But they are probably not on a team here. Why would they play their other game in this thread? In the end everyone want 3 points. You can´t just prioritize one game then.

Huh, that's not quite what I meant. I meant to imply that IF Csarmi is town here (which is looking less likely now), Peace would want to quickly secure the mislynch here first. If we started with another thread and hit Csarmi-scum, we might be inclined to lynch someone else in this thread (which might be Peace or one of his buddies).

Again, your course of action is stupid. Possibly against the spirit of the game too

And I'm town everywhere.

So is at least 5 other people. Probably more.

Alright, all caught up here.

First off, I believe Csarmi's claim here and don't see the reasoning behind lynching him in all three threads day 1.

I did notice that Leelou seems to be sheeping Verbal in this thread. Is there a reason for this that I am perhaps unaware of? Is verbal known as a good player on this site? I'm going to read through the other threads and see if I can put this together.

@Leelou: did you not believe Csarmi's claim?

vote: Leelou

Metawise, both Serra and Yates seem like their town selves here. I'm glad.

Really? You believe my claim here but not everywhere. A weird notion. Especially when we consider that I have exactly two non-global posts (the placing of any of my other posts were arbitrary), both in T1.

Maybe you do believe my claim here cause you know my alignment. Now how could that be?

Posted

For clarification:

Yup, after everyone went global against me, I was defending globally, never really watching who posted what and where.

Then I read up T1. Made a few posts that were related to T1 events.

Then I read up T2. Right in the middle of that I was hammered. So no local posts there.

No, I'm not playnning to read up here. I don't care anymore. Well, actually I do, to some extent. But I'll be busy today at work (even busier than yesterday) and no I'm not gonna waste 1.5 hours of my time (when I'm busy) just to end up unable to post my thoughts anyway.
