I can't help but notice it took over 10 pages for her to stop 'defending' and start posting thoughts.  I wonder if her compadres banded together to help her out of the hole that was being prepared and provide some rational attacks focused on one person, alannalynn.  And Hallia.  But mostly alannalynn.

Defending? I was posting thoughts up till my case. I just hadn't voted until then. I stated thoughts on voting which was the topic of discussion at the time. It took awhile because it's hard to post quotes with comments on mobile so I waited until I was on the computer. I don't feel I was in a hole. There are still 7 or so votes needed to lynch me. Someone finally poked me?

 

I am curious your thoughts on the rest of the game. Or is it just a soft vote on Basel and then just the above? Scum trying to push a townie lynch perhaps.

You simply did nothing. You completely misconstrued my words. Most all of them. For those that have been paying attention, theyll understand that your case was a bunch of bull without me analyzing and explaining every word, which i can post if they like. lol. I unvoted because I never really believed Tiink to be scum, just defensive when he was being pressured. That by itself is not a scum-calling worthy action for me to leave my vote there. On the other hand, while I didnt find you to be scummy at first, youre really getting there. All the more reason to remove my vote and consider voting you.

 

Thorum: I was using that post, yours, for my case on AJ. I was saying I agreed about the point you made. Why put someone at 3 votes if you're voting randomly?

You just contradicted yourself IN THE SAME POST. First you say i voted randomly, then you say i did it for reactions. Honey if i voted randomly for reactions, i certainly would put my vote on anyone and it wouldnt make a difference in hell. Common sense says i should put my vote on someone with the most votes to see what happened, whether i believed him or her to be scummy or not. I feel like im explaining day one to a newbie.. this stubbornness is either noobness or scumm...ness.

I'm not trying to trap you. I have no beef with you and no read on you. I'm trying to demonstrate why I think certain paradigms in the DM meta are undesirable.

 

I never have any beef with anyone in mafia, so I hope that my responses didn't come off that way. 

 

One thing I have noticed in mafia is that the more experienced players often use the "let me help by explaining mafia concepts" card to lure people (especially new players) into thinking they are town.  So far you have soft defended NotBob and Thorum.  You have also spent a significant amount of time "helping" town by discussing joke votes, etc, which to me only takes away from scum hunting.  In my mind you are trying very hard to gain town cred with "helpful" discussions without actually scumhunting or advancing the game.  unvote, vote Wombat

 

I find it interesting that you talk about a trap.  It's never a bad thing to share thoughts, with the caveat that you present them as your own and are clear that you aren't answering for the other person.  You presenting it as a trap is a clever way to get around sharing what you think.

 

 

I had shared my thoughts on the subject, but Wombat was asking me about something Kaylee had put forth.  I considered it a leading question and thus, a trap. 

 

 

That is pretty weak wombat and is a defense as well.

You can chalk me up as having defended Thorum if you want. I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary from him. Kaylee is a much better lynch.

As an aside, Wombat, if we ever run a training game around here where an experienced player gives in depth thoughts on plays being made in the game (similar to MafiaScum newbie games) you would be great at it.

Also, I'd be comfortable lynching Krak, Vam, or Darthe.  14 pages in and 2, 2, and 3 posts respectively.  If we are ever going to start policy lynching inactivity on DM there's never a better time to start than the present.

For any single game lynching inactives is stupid.  For the health of mafia in the long run lynching inactives each and every game will be helpful to slow down lurking as a playstyle.  Those three could be scum or town, we have no information at all and that isn't helpful for the game.  We have had multiple threads on the DM Mafia page about inactivity.

We gain information from lynches.  The town needs to identify who is willing to vote whom and sometimes more importantly who is unwilling to vote whom.
