I think killing Basel was a REALLY stupid move for the mafia. There has been so much back and forth with the whole "joke vote" thing that it was keeping everyone pretty occupied.

Question about this role...what is the point of having a towny that shows up as scum if viewed

 

I think of it as "anti utility" or a handicap.

I use it to power DOWN the town instead of power them up.

So if you think of it in terms of numbers, where townies are 1's, power roles like doc and cop are 2's, a miller would be a -1.

You want to use them when you want to give mafia a small advantage but giving them a symp or power would be too much. Instead of giving them a hand you give the town a kick.

Get it?

So following that, if you clear a miller they become vanilla so go from a -1 to a 1. That's an increase of 2 points in the towns favour (not as much as a PR IMO, they should be worth 3, but an increase)

 

Now if you let a miller sit, you gain info if they are lying, if they are telling the truth you gain 2 points.

As for outing a PR. there is no need. Let them sit. The PR can check them and keep it to themselves, then when they have more important reSults they reveal as normal. That way you gain a cleared miller, several cleared normal town or one or two mafia.

 

So for that reason I think keep them arnd once claimed so early.

True, but it kind of looks like they are saying that's who they are going for because why would mafia kill someone they were going to push for a lynch. It just stood out. In fact I'm a little surprised they went for Basel. Unless they thought he was a PR. 

 

Why would they state at night they are going to push for them, and then turn around and kill them thus painting a target on their back? Odds are it was a setup to paint them scummy.

I don't rank. I make a list of people I feel are mafia, and I vote for one of them, obviously I'm not voting either of them so the fact that you even assumed I put one in front of the other really makes me question you, you are now on my list of suspects as well.

Like I said above I don't have a ranking list, your post could be considered role fishing because say I were cop (I'm not it's just an example) if I viewed Cloud saw he were mafia and didn't want to out my role I would nudge him more than Kronos, however that is not what I did at all.

Ok so I'm caught up again till the start of Night 1, I will read the last couple of pages tomorrow. My apologies for my absense; RL got a little crazy for me with uni and some personal things but I have things a bit better sorted out right now and should be able to be a bit more active. I won't post my thoughts tonight because I'm really tired after after working on a report the whole day and I have to get some sleep. I will just post a couple of comments on my hammer on Darthe:

Euhm no my vote on Darthe was purely for consolidation purposes. There were 3 hours left untill the deadline and I posted that right before I went to bed. I mentioned earlier in the game that I wanted to lynch Darthe on Day 2, and leave Day 1 for scumhunting and gathering info. Basel was still the one I had the best scum read on, and I'm surprised that he flipped town.

 

Cloud hammer. Fascinating.

 

Can I have mithril armor now?

Darthe's reads are the only ones I trust atm and I think they would be a good start to look for scum on Day 2.

There were those not voting him yet posting, you could have left it to one of them to throw the hammer. Yet you hammer him say nothing about it being for consolidation and leave. Cloud, I am not finding the hammer overtly bad. In fact since darthe was content to just give his list of reads without any further explanations, I am okay with the hammer. It is any easy thing for mafia to latch onto especially since cloud was in the spotlight yesterday.

The point is you took someone that was not on your list of potential mafioso and made them your number one candidate for mafia. You have again sidestepped the main question tho. What is your case on Cloud and why are you now pushing his lynch? It looks to me like you just flat out do not now want to see Kronos lynched. Why?
