[BASIC] Pick your Poison Mafia MAFIA WINS

Hello again.

 

It is now day so I will give my limited observations from Day 1.

 

The biggest topic was of course LZM and his immediate Jailkeeper claim. He has picked a role that may or may not be in the game. Jailer is a powerful role as it can both defend and block. It is a fairly easy fake claim to work. Not sure about it. Benefit of the doubt for now since there has been no cc. Can keep track of his history and check as game goes along.

 

Davrick seemed a bit defensive when he was questioned by Testy about having possible extra knowledge. It turned out to be confusion about the pick your poison setup. but it was noticeable.

 

Lenlo seemed to post before he had read the info about possible roles. Someone, Mish I think, had mentioned it was a more likely town tell as there would have been discussion on the mafia QT regarding which roles were picked. I think it could go either way.

 

Panchi came in to hammer after being inactive most of the day. I found that odd.

 

Testy, well he got lynched and flipped town like he exclaimed from the beginning. He and TG seemed to push the hardest at LZM. He flipped town and it was his first game. Also apparently he did not have a mentor.

 

Cyan, Starry and Mish to an extent were the most consistent in working toward his lynch. He didn't really help himself very much. If I had been here I most likely would have voted him too.

 

Finally there were the more inactive peoples. Zanibar, Loading and Panchi all had very little to say. Falcon started out involved but seemed to fade later in the day. Townsend never even checked in so I am now here.

 

Today so far It is the first comments that are striking me as odd. LZM and Mish with the "Surprised I'm alive" and Davrick with his surprised comment. Mish has since also played the "would I do that as mafia?" card. The thing is there is no set way to play the game. You can try whatever you want if you think it will work.

 

TG, my asking the question about which roles everyone would choose for town if they were mafia was a way to try to get everyone thinking about the game in general and give them another topic of discussion with their mentors. I know it was going to be something that I talked about with mine, had he shown up. So I figured I could put it out there for everyone. I hope that those that didn't answer here did or will talk about it with their mentors.

Given that LZM is still alive I think my case on him from yesterday remains valid. I still have yet to see any answer as to how any of his play is town. Also, Mish's play is pinging me, both with the "surprised" post and the consistent defense of LZM.

 

I disagree with Turin about giving LZM the benefit of the doubt. An incredibly important, unverifiable, town power role that mafia just decided to let slide. And then came this:

Ok. So here are my thoughts.

 

I jailed player a last night. Now here are the possibilities as i see them.

 

A. I cotrrectly jailed the mafia team member who controls their nk. And the town vig took out Zan. A highly unlikely scenario but not out of the realm of possibility.

 

B. The mafia nk'd Zan in an attempt to discredit my claim in hopes of a speed lynch on me. Highly more likely scenario.

 

Im obviously thinking its the 2nd option.

 

With that said im gonna keep a close eye on anybody who tries to build a case on me

 

Yesterday LZM OMGUS voted me for casing his play as anti-town even when he offered no defense. Today he says he might be alive because he might have gotten lucky and jailed the one mafia player on the team who sent in the NK? Very unlikely. His second scenario is more likely that mafia decided to kill a lurking player, but then he follows it with the comment that he will "keep a close eye" on anybody who cases him. An open threat? Really? FoS

Hey. If your going to only use partial parts of the post then your wasting your time. It also states in option B that my survival from night one would be used to discredit my claim and paint me as scum.

 

So now that your trying to discredit my claim i believe you sir are mafia and following out your teams plan that i laid out.

When you broke my post into pieces and pieced them together to suit your agenda. Mafia use that tactic to misdirect and lead town.

There are still some other possibilities. There could be a jailkeeper, who isn't LZM and blocked his mafia kill, with an SK or Vig making the kill. There could be a jailkeeper who blocked a vig, and LZM is mafia. LZM could be the vig, but that doesn't make much sense. Of course he is going to keep an eye on anyone who cases him! That's blantantly obvious, if he is the jailkeeper he needs to watch for mafia and pick who to block, plus everyone needs to keep watch on everyone. Though, it does strike me as odd that he decided to make that statement. It's mafia, that's a huge part of the game, why especially those who case you? And why say it?

Almost phrasing it in a manner that suggests that TGlems stated it was the more likely scenario, not LZM. LZM did state in the above post that he thought the second scenario was more likely. I still don't think the possibility of a Vigilante should be discounted.

Two things.

1) Again you offer no defense other than saying that just because I find your play anti-town doesn't mean it is. Instead of saying how your play is town you (which you never have) you instead change the subject.

2) You parse my words, act like I didn't mention your "option B" in my post, and then accuse me of it and state it is a scum trait. Interesting that you accuse me of doing exactly what you just did.

Lolz I love that one. The sad truth is that some statistics are made up, but the true number (based on the limited sample done in the studies I have read) is something around 63% sheerly due to the random everyday bs that people throw out. However, empirical data is by and large more accurate to the point that we can assume truth.

I gave up on statistics when they started using computers to justify why in a situation where two teams had the same record, say 10-1, one team had beaten the other in a head-to-head matchup, the losing team was given access to a million dollar bowl game.

I have a hard time watching college football because every game is a playoff game so, in my opinion, after you lose your first game you should just quit the rest of the season. You aren't champion, you won't be champion, so playing the rest of your games is just a money grab and I don't want to watch.
