Checking in. Sorry everyone, had some massive internet complications, but I should be at least mostly active from here on in.

This game has started pretty quickly, and there are quite a few accusations being flung around.

However, WWWombat voting Dice just for his joke vote on the superior state of Queensland, and the responding vote coming after the clear end of joke votes screams scum to me.

Well, linking Despo and I from my idiotic comment seems obvious now.

Falcon's immediate leaping onto me with literally no reasons, he says himself 'echo darthe'. He also FoS then directly afterwards votes me. This might have just been a newbie mistake I guess, but I'd like to hear falcon's reasoning beyond what he has said. Besides, you are voting me with what seems to be a consensus of 'scummiest statement of the game'. This is coming from experienced mafia players, so its probably got a lot of backing to it, but from what I have seen gut feelings are usually accepted as poor reasoning, not an immediate vote.

WWWombat hasn't been posting much since, though admittedly it has been a fairly short period of time. I'm FoSing falcon.

To me this statement means that you are now thinking that Starry and Darthe are linked, right after you decided that Starry and Desp were linked, both times becase he said he was getting a town read.

 

In which case, why? Just because someone says that someone does not seem scummy doesn't mean they're in it together. This is a little suspish, but honestly, I do agree with the majority of your anti-Starry comments.

 

Starry seemed to come in and immediately leap to Dice's defence, and weak vote Wombat is a bit obscure. I'm more interested in him keeping the vote on Wombat after the dodginess of the vote and his suspicion of Falcon, which would be a much stronger case than the Wombat one...FOS Starry.

Just noticed this, the major point of this is any vote I make against Falcon, or real casing will be written off as OMGUS. Same with Darthe or Despo.

You see, as I mentioned, setup talk is one of the best ways for mafia to manipulate town into thinking a certain way. So I feel it best to pretty much skim past such discussions, for two reasons: 1) To help keep myself from possibly being influenced or manipulated by scum, and 2) To help keep myself from joining the setup talk.

I don't understand what you're saying with the first part. You think he was rushing his alignment claim by saying that at L-7? That doesn't really make sense... and personally I don't find early claims as egregious as others do, if it's a role or character claim that is.

Once again, I'm pretty disappointed by your play here Darthe. Trying to link me to him simply because he said he had a town read on me? Weaksauce. Whether or not he flips town or scum, it says nothing about me. Could either be trying to defend a teammate, which would be dumb to do so openly and if I was mafia I would surely coach him better, and he could also easily be trying to buddy up to a townie.

Not sure what you're saying here Starrik. If you make a good enough case on someone, I think you'll find that very few people will just write it off as OMGUS. Sounds like you're getting pretty resigned to eventually getting lynched or something, like it's not worth it to case someone. You're climbing on my scumdar.

No I know it's a PB quote. He still emphasised the word a lot, which makes it seem like something else is going on here. It wouldn't have seemed odd to me if it was just bolded, or italicized, but bolded and blued seems weird

So, page 2 already. At least we have activity. Let's start off with some good old setup talk. I think this game is liable to have goblins, Smaug, Gollum, or possibly even Spiders or Wights as mafia/ third party. I also am assuming that we have an SK/Survivor/etc in this and that we shouldn't have anymore damn cult etc. Thoughts?

Anyways, don't let yourself get discouraged too easily. If you're mafia, I'd rather you go down in a massive ball of flames fighting till the end than get speedlynched cause you gave up, and if you're town and let everyone lynch you instead of trying to find scum I'd be disappointed as well.

 

P.S. Just to be clear, even tho I found that Darthe post to be the most offensive, I still think Dice's overall play has been scummier. Figured I had to make that clear before Darthe tried to bait me again
