Honestly, there doesn't need to be a reveal for someone to counter him, at least enough to make the point. It would be a fairly easy assumption if someone said "I know for a fact he's not the doc" without having to claim to be the doc.

Putting aside those that have revealed so far, the people I'm mainly interested in at this point are Red, BG, and Panda.

 

Red: Has changed playstyles like 17 times this game, and altho she is suddenly (and suspiciously) active again, she's really not posting much content-wise, mostly just spammy braggy stuff. Earns extra hilarity points for her post earlier in the game where she coined a new phrase (for all intensive purposes lawls)

 

BG: Has lurked a fair amount, shows up when called out for it, and the few times he has tried casing someone he backed off immediately. Normally a very good scumhunter, but he's falling pretty flat in that department this game.

 

Panda: Was pinging me early on, then pretty much stopped posting for a bit until called out for it as well. Then he rails against all the spammers, but if he wasn't enjoying the spam, why not come in and say so? Once a couple of others said something about the spam, it pretty much was curtailed. Panda normally has no prob voicing his opinion, so the switch from active to lurking all of a sudden worries me.

 

For now tho, BG worries me the most. The last two times I've seen him try to call someone out on something, he ended up backing off his weak case pretty much immediately. Not only that, but his targets were too easy as well. Vote BG

I've been focused on Darthe for a while. He managed to make me doubt when countering with his question of why he'd be after Maw/Jack 2.0 since Day One, but I'm not going to let it go so easily this time. Peace I'm not at all sure about, but Darthe I'm almost certain is scum. Your recent posts just make me all the more confident.

 

Kind of crappy post, but other people are doing better at putting my thoughts into text than I and my pounding head are at the moment. Basically I agree with what Red says. The sane, Darthe-related bits anyway.

 

Razen also makes me wonder. Why would he protect Darthe over Ithi after Ithi revealed? Ever?

I don't understand your criticism. I said I didn't like the spammers, but you say I should have said that I didn't like the spammers? Hmm.

 

Anyway, I've gone through days one and two. I didn't have the time or the inclination to do an indepth read-through, but I did a vote-count analysis. I ignored everything to do with roles, and focused on how people interacted.

 

Basically, my scumdar's been pretty awful all game.

 

Here are the highlights, with excerpts from my spreadsheet in italics, with scumminess in red and towniness in blue:

 

Lenlo is town, I think. 1031 - notes that the Rand train built quickly. 1126 - wary of voting for Yuna/Rand, but does so anyway? This is jumped on by Jack in 1147, so probably means he's town.

 

Ithi is town. Sticks up for Darthe (102). Started the EP wagon out of the blue in 292 - not likely to be bussing. Maw attacked Ithi in 354, following peace.

 

Mynd is town. This is shown by his voting; he's been on the money.

 

I think scum are in, in descending order of scumminess: Darthe, Peace, Andrew, Razen, Turin. Possibly Des, whose posting is generally good but whose voting record isn't. I'll vote after we get another votecount.

WHat I'm saying Panda is that you could have admonished others for spamming, instead of dropping back into the background like you did. Starting out active and switching to lurking is a little strange; one explanation could be that you were active because you were trying to get heat off of a teammate, and that once that wasn't necessary anymore, either because they were lynched or they were know longer getting attention, you decided to drop back while everyone else focused on the wrong people. Another explanation could be that after losing two teammates, you didn't want to draw as much attention, so let yourself fade back as spamming started getting more common. A third explanation could be that you became busy with other matters all of a sudden, but you haven't said anything of the sort.

 

As for my voting record, I replaced Soy and I have no idea why he voted the way he did day 1. And yesterday I was very wary of Jack because Maw had been pinging, but I still felt there was reasonable doubt and I didn't want to drop the hammer without hearing more from Jack. In retrospect, I prob shouldn't have been hesitant; it's my experience that replacement players should be watched even more carefully. Generally speaking, inactive players who have vanilla roles just stay inactive, and people who have power roles tend to not go inactive, whereas mafiosos who are inactive feel guilty for letting their teammates down so they tend to opt for replacement more regularly. And yes, even I feel this strategy is somewhat unfair, but you can't help noticing certain trends...

 

In other news, I had a question for the hardcore FF fans in this game. Darthe claims to be a counter to Ultimecia, which is pretty much the only reason a train never really built up on him since so many of his posts have seemed off. My question is, is Ultimecia a major enough villain that it would def be in this game? Or are there any characteristics particular to Ultimecia that would make it easy for Darthe to claim that role? For instance, if Ultimecia was so uberleet that he wasn't able to be countered, perhaps Darthe claimed counter to Ultimecia because he knew he wouldn't get CC'd (incidentally, he never revealed his character).

I think Panda did tell us off for spamming. He quite clearly said that there was a whole forum called fiddles available. It was night time though, which is the traditional time for spam so I didn't pay too much attention to him, but he definitely did say he wasn't happy. He is a silent night person I guess. I'm a chatty spam night person. No Mod likes an empty game so a little bit of night spamming isn't such a big deal.

 

I don't get why you are making out he didn't imply we should shush though.

 

I am very wary of Darthe. He gave his role after others had already given theirs and so could be hiding amongst them. The only thing he has told us is that he knows Ultimathingumy is in the game and he never gave his own name. Part of me still things that he is being uber clever and is actually Ultima himself, hiding behind the counter claim.

I... barely made sense of the second half of this. But, Ultimecia was the MAIN villan of Final Fantasy 8. She was pretty badass. Super powerful sorceress, possession, time compression, Greiver, new universe, etc... I'd guess she probably IS in this game. There's one character from 8 I can think of that makes sense to be her counter, but I don't want to give him a false character claim if it's all a lie- which I 'spect it is.

Panda is finding it difficult to keep track of who has claimed what, which claims he believes, and who he thinks is scummy. So, Panda will re-read this thread.

 

And, yeah, less spam would be great. We have an entire forum devoted to spam. It's called Fiddlesticks.
