Although I am rather clever at some things ... Not always at Mafia though. I managed to get half the Town lynched last time cos I'm so rubbish at spotting Mafia tells. I never got round to that lesson lol.

How do you get those options in your head? Does it need tons of mafia experience or is it natural? How could I learn it? I didn't guess I was so newbie-like. I thought basic mafia would be more simple. I guess the advanced one is not for me! Voting to apply pressure... you sure have some secret tactiques!

Nah, he's not sucking up. He likes to make those trap moves (like the early 2nd vote on me) and see who bites. I'll have to make my usual side-speech to him at some point in this game, so I'm glad he's already getting warmed up and a little bit of questioning. It makes my speech so much better.

Experience. Some people are amazing in game 1 (like Luthine -- anybody remember her?), but most take a bunch of games to get the strategy part down easily. Leelou is right - you should simply explain your votes as best as you can...even if it is a simple "I agree with what X player said".

You just have to learn. And it's better not to be too fast with such things. I hope people will see you're new, and agree that you should at least survive one or two days, so that you can learn it. In general, newbies aren't voted the first two days. But no one knew, of course, that you were a newbie.
