Great idea from another post. The top 100 most used words or phrases from WoT. And BTW, I'm not bashing Robert Jordan - every writer is guilty of over using certain words or phrases but few have been prolific enough to be noticed. After 11 books, a couple of million words, yeah, we start to notice.

Here's my contributions:

"Fists on hips"

sensed "through the bond"

"smoothed her skirts"

mirrored stand lamps

sea folk porcelain

'Serenity'. An uncountable number of times.

Good one, even if you add in "Aes Sedai" before "Serenity." You are talking about a bender that would make survivors of the USS Indianapolis wish for the ocean.

"Her chin rose as she gave (insert name of any man) an icy stare" or something to that effect.

I can't count how many times that phrase has been used in relation to Elayne.

I was thinking I got to this thread too late, but then I realized no one yet has said:

box his ears

ageless Aes Sedai face/ageless face

divided skirts

Does "burn me" count?

'Veiled' and 'Veil'. As in;

"There was a large number of Taraboners in the army, noticable by their distinctive chainmail veils".

"Sensing danger, the Aiel veiled themselves".

And wasn't Tuon 'under the veil' when she arrived in Randland?
