Jenn.... we've known each other for nearly a decade now. I've watched you go from an unconfident high school girl to an accomplished woman who is one step away from running the world. You are as close to a sister to me as one can get across this virtual maze that is the Internet. Hell, I even named my wife after you.

 

I want you to be innocent. I want you and I to purge this ... um.... "town".... of darkfriends. Together. But to do that, I need your complete and utter assurance that you are not a darkfriend yourself.

 

I will believe you this round if you do 2 things:

 

1) Change your vote to Empy

and

2) Look me in the eye and swear on all our long years of friendship that you are not deceiving me.

Alright, I did a quick count since Jimmy's at a Thrashers game tonight.

 

We've got ten villagers left. Two of them are evil. I have seven votes for me. Ben has three. I'm clearly on my way out unless a significant portion of you change your minds.

 

Alright, so I die next round. I'm not a Darkfriend. So someone else dies that night. That leaves you with only EIGHT villagers left. Thats half our original population. Also, once we get down to four villagers, the game is over. This is the time to choose very carefully, and not be blinded by hysteria.

 

Yes, I admit I'd be an obvious Darkfriend. Which is preceisely why I'm not. I'm too obvious. Jimmy wouldn't choose a newbie, so Zardi and Kitishane are out. And we know from Dwyn's Dreams that at least one Darkfriend attended Dragon*Con this year. The only survivors from that group are myself, Ben and Empy. Dwyn cleared me before she died. Of Ben and Empy, Ben is the most likely to turn evil and betray us all. (Actually, of all my friends, I consider him second most likely to do so. Ender is the most likely to sell us out to the Dark One, but he's dead now.)

 

Ben is CLEARLY a Darkfriend. Kill him now so we can begin our search for his dark apprentice.

How do we know Dwyn is the dreamer? I am really thinking Jason is the other darkfriend now but I am staying with my vote this time.

Who else could the Dreamer be? No one else had dreams with real evidence in them; silly ones with pudding and pitch forks don't count. And everyone else's accusations have either used Dwyns Dreams as evidence, or they've been made randomly using perceived "suspicious" activity as evidence. If Dwyn wasn't the Dreamer, then the real one is being awfully quiet.

 

So, there are two possibilities, since Dwyn announced that Mother is not a darkfriend. Either Dwyn was the Dreamer and Mother is innocent, or they are both darkfriends. And the second possibility isn't even a possibility at all, because Dwyn was murdered.

 

Don't be foolish. Either Ben or Empy is a darkfriend, and my money is on Ben this time. Go for Empy instead, if you want, but change your votes. Don't execute someone who could not possibly be guilty.

Why would Jimmy make me a darkfriend. Think about it. He's host this game and I've been AWOL for about 40 years at DM. Why would he pick me if he was probably thinking "Jason won't really play!" And it's true: i hardly expected to play myself. But my affection for Zardi goes deep and I realized I had to play. Jimmy could not have seen that coming.

 

I'm being as serious as an Amyloid. And you know I wouldn't joke about that: I'm not a darkfriend!

 

After we clar Kat out, let's look into Ben.

Dwyn was the only one who wasn't completely ridiculous with hers. It was pretty obvious that she was going somewhere with them.

But Jason, what better way to keep you in the game than to make you a Darkfriend? Give you some "added responsibilities"? And Kat, you're being totally tricksy, setting up a straw-person to point at. People who aren't DFs could easily keep their votes, some people have been convinced it's you for a long time, and people who are DFs could still change their votes and either kill eachother or not kill eachother.

 

We don't know for sure that we haven't killed _any_ darkfriends. It is entirely possible that Esteban or Ender was a DF, and in my mind it is still a strong possibility that you are as well... you're a tricksy one when you're a goodie, I have no idea what you'd accomplish as a baddie!

And Jimmy will give us a signal when we kill a Darkfriend. I don't know what it is, maybe they've got a secret decoder ring on them. But we definately haven't killed one yet.

Well that's an interesting idea. But at this point, I think both you and Ben are the DFs, so even if he is bad, it stills mean you could be too.

We'd be working together. If I had time, I'd go back and see who Ben has never voted for and who has never voted for him. Unless we have especially crafty Darkfriends, I'm sure they aren't voting for each other.

That could work Kat, but since very few people have voted for Ben I'm not sure it narrows it down much. And I thought that waaaaaay back when someone said that we wouldn't know if we killed one of the darkfriends. Though, maybe that was Ender with his suspicious knowledge of the game.

 

I'm torn, logic is fun and all, but the random finger pointing at the beginning of the game was much funnerer. I've gotta say, I was pretty convinced it was Ender and you, but if it isn't then I don't want to say who it was because I will wind up dead next. Like poor Dwynniken.... which is actually one reason why I thought she might not be the dreamer, would the dreamer be *that* obvious about their accusations and expect to live?

Ok lets look at the facts..

 

Kath seems to know quite a lot about who is and who isn't a darkfriend. Three people know that.. two DF's and the dreamer. If she was a dreamer, she wouldn't have been wrong so manyh times. That leaves DF.
