So from the time you get the book to the time you read the snippet of prophesy on the last page: how long?

Figuring in the time I have to allot to homework, I'll finish it in about a week. I know most people are a lot faster than that. Some of you crazy nargs are going to finish it the first day and start posting spoilers.

If i get it right away when it comes out I should be able to read it in 2 days, so just in time for the signing, and then I should be able to reread it again over the weekend.

one to two days. I anticipate getting it on the 5th (online ordering to thank) so just sit and read. LOL

Now, if I get it on the 2nd...5 days. (rest of week, then wrap up on weekend)

I read tGS in 7 hours, in one sitting pretty much. The only breaks I took were for dinner, bio and a trip to pick up my son from school. It should be noted I was unemployed at the time and had nothing else to do. It'll probably be a similar amount of time on this one...so, several hours reading while in transit to and from work and one evening at it. I'll either be done the night I get it or the morning after on the ride in to work. I'll probably re-read it twice before I put it down and move on to other things.

It'll probably take me a little under a week. I like to take it slow, stop at the end, or even middle, of big events and digest what I read.

Got TGS on Monday after work, finished on Tuesday (including a work shift). Started rereading it Wednesday evening, finished rereading on Friday evening (I had Thurs and Fri off that week).

I guess ToM will be similar, but I don't have any for-sure days off in there. It's possible I won't have any work at all that week due to a LoW layoff, but financially I'd rather be working than having all week to spend on the new WoT book :madmyrddraal: . (although it would be one heck of a silver lining :myrddraal: )

I've got a lot going on...I just got promoted so work is hectic. I'm moving as well. I'll probably be closing @ work the night before and I'll have to come in early the day it comes out to go to a meeting and then I'll have to close that night. I'm going to try to pick it up inbetween the meeting and when I have to go back in, but that means ~100 miles round trip and no sleep...

I'll probably start it the next day (which I'll most likely have off) and as long as I remember to turn off my phone, I should be done thursday or friday depending on my schedule.

Time to read will probably be about 8 - 10 hours. However with the 2nd a Tuesday, between work, wife and kids it'll probably be Thursday when I finish. Either that or turn up to work Wednesday looking like I haven't slept. Which may happen :)

Couple of weeks most likely. Still got a full workload i can't get out of in any way, and other obligations as well. I'll rather enjoy a book more if I can think of the chapters in between anyway. I never could do a marathon reading.

1 day here, I won't get to read until around Christmas time as I'm still deployed. But when I DO get back, I'll be on leave, and I'll bang it out in one day then start my first RE-read of the whole series. So yea, needless to say this site is going to be aweful for me until I get home to read the book myself.

Probably similar to TG, around 8 hours or so. I always tell myself that I will take my sweet time, and not slug through it like the book would disappear if I put it down for more than 15 minutes at a time, but I always failbiggrin.gif

That's precisely what happens with me--though I no longer delude myself that I'll manage it.

I tried to trick myself into believing I could drag Way Of kings out until the release of TOM. I actually managed to make it last for almost a weekbiggrin.gif

Yeah, I think I made it last six days. That's with four days at WorldCon in between.

It'll take me under a day thats for sure, i remember when i first got into the wheel of time series....

I was doing work for a friend of the family...manual labour, all that jazz. Anyhoo at the end of every day i got about 35 quid, enough to buy the 1st 3 books from Waterstones.

That same day i finished The Eye of the world after i bought it, kept me up to the early hours of the morning. But it was worth it.

I did the same with tGH and tDR, i was immersed.

After i had finished tDR i bought tSR, tFoH and LoC the next day and did the same thing. Which is pretty crazy now that i think about how long tFoH and LoC are....i must have gotten no sleep for 6 days straight. It was one of the greatest, most memorable weeks of my life though.

I did the same with aCoS and tPoD but slowed down to 3 days for WH and a whole 2 weeks for CoT, mostly because they just are'nt gripping at all.

Finished KoD in a day too. Finished tGS in about 7-8 hours.

So ToM should be no differant, i just can't help my self!

Luckers and Maj, i feel your pain trying to read slowly, it just doesn't happen!
