If I wasn't the evangelist, I would have been counterclaimed since that would be a sure sign of me being a nasty lying liar who lies. Kivam's idea is good. Here's why:

 

- In a game where everybody is a power role, individual roles like cop and doc are less important. (Thus I even disagree with Kivam that cop and doc should lie.)

 

- In the normal course of things, sacrificing a cop or a doc in order to find mafia is accepted (eg. Cop claims to have a guilty investigation, or the real cop/doc counterclaims a mafia fakeclaim).

 

- Kivam's plan will eliminate from the field of suspicion a few players, those with uncontested role claims. The players that do have contested claims will either be the real role, or mafia. The rest of us can target those players at night to figure things out. Yay!

Something you missed, Alys, because you don't know us newer players, but Pandy picked people who were likely to jump down his throat (I don't know about you, but Lavinya and I have done so over less. Well, she may not have done it to Pandy, but I sure have.) This leads me to believe that he was hoping to use a distraction technique while someone else did .... something. Maybe hopefully get us all drug into it. It didn't work with any of us. Is our panda made of fail today?  :o I could be way off, but I tend to win these things by thinking in odd ways.

Ok small suggestion folks... we're getting to 36 pages on day 1 here. Honestly, a lot of this is becoming pure guesswork - we have had no night actions. Part of me just wants consensus here so we actually have some results, and can then tie in what folks have said today with what we've got left.

 

Whilst i do not excessively want to lynch Kivam, i feel it may be an idea, as seeing most people are suspicious of Kivam + another. In the interest of getting some kind of consensus, i'm switching to him. He's made enough mistakes to legitimise the suspicions levelled against him, and although i'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, i honestly think we have had enough debate and need action.

 

Something tells me we'll be getting a deadline shortly. We can't stay on day 1 here forever. So whilst this is not either ideal or personal,[glow=red,2,300] unvote[/glow] and [glow=red,2,300][glow=red,2,300]vote Kivam[/glow][/glow]

See, now this is a lie.  I actually said I had no idea why he revealed that he had a role so early, and he shouldn't have done that - but that once he did, naming it wasn't a bad thing.  Honestly, I'd rather he have named it, since it opened him up to potential counterclaims.  Hell Verbal can confirm this - what did I do to Mynd when he half-claimed "Mat" in the WoT game (of course, I was a cult leader then . . . but that's beside the point, 'cause I play most squeaky clean when I'm scum).  Half-claims don't fly; once someone claims a little bit, you may as well get em all the way out so that there's a chance of catching them in a lie.

 

And to anyone saying "maybe the real evangelist is keeping quiet" . . . well, unless the evangelist has some critical power for the town, if the "real evangelist" is keeping quiet, I'll kill them myself.  At this point in the game, our advantage is numbers.  If there's a counterclaim, at worst we're looking at a one for one scum for townie trade, which I hope you all understand we'd jump on laughing and cheering if it was offered.  Seriously, at that point we'd lynch Pandy, and if he flipped innocent we'd lynch the counterclaimant, and be happy to have killed 1 scum in 2 days.

 

In other words - Pandy is the "real evangelist".  There's no other reasonable explanation.  The only other options are: 1) the "real evangelist" doesn't understand numbers and is keeping silent; 2) Pandy is mafia who got very, very lucky in picking a role nobody else had; or 3) the "real evangelist" knows the town is dead if they die, and a one for one trade isn't actually in our favor.

 

Anyone think 1, 2 or 3 is likely?  'Cause I don't.  Only question in my mind is whether "evangelist" is a town role.

 

So . . . combine Alys subtly lying about my post and narrowing down the day 1 death list to 4 people - and she climbs close to the top of my leader board.  Not to say we lynch her now - but if all four of us are ever dead and flipped innocent, she should be next on the block.

Total lack of patience is something i am not often criticised for. However i am fast becoming disillusioned with this. Hence the vote. Were this day 5 or 6 and close to the end, i'd never push for speedy action, but for day 1 i honestly think we've done enough.

I'd like to get you on record:

 

1) Do you believe that Lavinya's "Mafia would be afraid of mass reveals, therefore I vote Kivam" post made sense?

 

2) Would you agree that overplaying the "I'm confused" card is a typical scum tell?

Just to play the Devils Advocate...

 

1. No it didn't make sense, but it could be that she didn't mean it the way it was written, I know when i have written things it doesn't always come out how I mean it, but then I'm not good at using the English Language as some people are.

 

2. It doesn't make it scum tell. I have never used it when scum, and I've seen some who are innocent use it as well as Mafia.

 

3. I didn't find it overly defensive at all, in fact I hardly noticed it, until some started going on about it!
