I'm getting really emotional about all this, so I'll just say this. Whether or not Van is in my ajah has nothing to do with any of this for me. (Frankly, he hasn't contributed to his Ajah enough to be much of an asset, even if it is mine, so that's hardly the issue here.) The fact that my children (two of which are still quite young, and both special needs in one way or the other) are having to deal with their stepmom having a bypass this week has a lot more to do with it. Emotions are high in our family right now. I've had to change my vacation plans to work around her surgery, which of course, I don't mind doing, but it did cause us to have to finish packing and leave really suddenly this morning. My daughter and I are currently out of town on a three-day destress vacay. I will only be online in the evenings when we are at the motel.

 

I frankly don't care if you all believe me or not. My sense of compassion overrides my love of games, and if that's not believable, then you simply don't know me very well. Van may not feel the way I would feel, but I would feel it as one more blow when I was already down. But then this is the kind of stuff that keeps me sane when RL gets crazy. So, accuse me of whatever, lynch me if you want, whatever you need to do. I don't want to keep explaining this. I'm going to enjoy my time out of town.

As for lynching Van, it looks like it's going to happen anyway with or without Lily's vote. While I think she's taking the game (not her RL circumstances of course) too seriously as I'm guessing Van would rather be with his dad than worry about one mafia game, she's got her reasons and she's sticking to it, so we should all just leave it at that.

 

In the meantime, we should hunt these Gray quarters for more food! ;D

I was lying in bed, and this came to me. I think a lot of you are upset about how emotional I am. I am an emotional person. I won't apologize for it, because I like that about myself. I think we can agree to disagree without flinging accusations around, and calling people dramatic. There's a difference between honest emotion and drama.

 

I said I disagree with you all, but I respect your point of view. All I'm asking for is the same. Disagree with me, okay. But please respect my feelings without accusing me of having another motive. I accepted that you are going to do this, and then all those accusations were there when I logged on next. It's pretty hard to get a handle on my emotions (that you all don't like) and be my usual "mafia game" self when I'm hit with something like that when I log on.

Lynch me if you must, but don't take out your aggression over my inactivity on someone else, simply because they defended me. I've been busy helping out my father, since after 6 bypasses, he can't really do much on his own. Try having someone saw through YOUR breast bone and we'll see if you need help for even the simplest tasks.

 

The man can't even open a door without being in pain. He was a smoker all his life, so someone has to be around to talk him out of his cravings and make sure he doesn't try to sneak a cigarette or anything. We've also got to monitor his diet, and since he has extremely bad arthritis too, the various pills they have him on at the moment are messing with him.

 

So, I do encourage you to lynch me if you must. My level of activity in this game will not increase any time soon. My father is quite a bit more important to me than a Mafia game. The man pretty well raised me on his own as a single parent, and I owe everything I am to him. I have no intentions of letting him deal with this by himself.

 

So, allow me to make things simpler for you all.

Seriously, I just got a PM from Dragon. His grandma passed away, and he is pretty shaken up. He is not going to be able to continue this game. I offered to take over as mod, although I've never done it before. I was leaving the game, anyway. I had a post restriction (due to my angreal) which I messed up on  and would have been modkilled at the end of the day. If Pete wants me to, do you all want that, or shall we just end this unfinished and walk away?

Oh, this is tough.  On the one hand, I'd like to see how this game could go; on the other, it's gone on so long and it's likely to continue on for a while, too.

 

I don't like seeing games disintegrate, and I have no doubt you'd do an excellent job as the mod, but my vote in this case is for the game to end [glow=green,2,300]unfinished[/glow].

 

Naturally, the majority shall rule. :)  Whatever everyone else thinks, I'm okay with that too.

I'm in agreement with Meesh. The idea of this game was good, but it's been too long and chaotic. Maybe we can play again in the future now that we've gone thru a 'trial' run? I vote [glow=green,2,300]UNFINISHED[/glow].

 

Either way, I think most of us have other Mafia games we're involved with right now -- including Pete!! -- that will keep us entertained enough not to miss out on too much.

 

One thing I ask tho, is that if we all decide to leave it unfinished, at least can we post a list of what our affiliations were?? I really think the reveals in Mafia are the best part!  :D
