I know what song Blig is quoting. It is quite easy if you know classic rock.

Your smugness is annoying.  Not much.  Ok, just a little pinprick  ;) :D

First of all: I'm the random vote for FOUR people within 62 minutes?

I count only 3 - Me, Naeann and Jelly.  And only Jelly's was random

So could everyone I haven't played before (which would be ... Luthine, Daetirion, Blig Blog, Vemynal, Leelou, Verbal, Naeann, Jelly, bcxanth and Mayleigh) tell me a bit about themselves and their take on mafia? And like, if any of you have any totally obvious tells when you're evil, that would also help. I'm kind of clinging to islands of familiarity in a sea of new faces here.

My thoughts on the game, based on the rules post at the beginning of this thread, plus the rules post and this additional post in the previous thread ...

* Using a standard 25-50-25 breakdown, we're looking at 4-5 mafia, 4-5 good roles and everyone else roleless innocents. There is also "the possibility of at least one solo-win", so maybe a serial killer or a traitor, with the wording suggesting more than one. On the upside, the game description doesn't suggest additional evil teams. Or maybe that's a downside because of the possibility of crossfire between competing evil teams. Not entirely sure.

* Beware "new and devious roles" and "changed up old roles". I also note the line "Vigilante justice was out in force" and the innocent team is called the Committee of Vigilance, which leads me to anticipate, you got it, vigilantes.

* Since we may have extra killing roles, I also predict extra kill-stopping roles. In my occasional forays into modding I found that the guards, healers etc should outnumber the possible kills to maintain an even flow of kills as the nights went by, but that was a bit of a rule of thumb. And we do have 18 players here. Maybe the mods are hoping for a bloodbath. ;)

* I see that "some twists will be revealed at the time of death of certain players", which makes me fear (and I do mean fear) conditional roles, possibly activated on death. I hate conditional roles because you can't plan for them. You're toddling along happily, fightin' the good fight, and bang! Rocks fall. Everyone dies.

* "Reveals will be role and alignment" = coroner finder game = lynch every day for information. (Also we have too many players and I can't keep track of them all. Not that I advocate lynching for my personal amusement.)

* On a side note, I noticed an epidemic of voting for yourself in the ongoing games I looked over. Voting for yourself is right up there with bandwagoning, under-the-radar players, other people's master plans, unexplained votes, bombs, millers and people who disagree with me on my list of personal mafia hates. These things drive me to sarcasm. :D

Back with more thoughts later. Great to be playing again. :D

'cause, you know, that takes a lot  ::) ;)

We shoud also be on the lookout for conditional roles that require posts be at least a paragraph long. Because they could be out there -

And in a ironic twist, I'm currently begging players to post just a thought or two in the other games. heh

First of all, I need to start by saying I started a new job today. Consequently I'm only going to be able to be online every other day. Trying to save gas by staying in town with relatives every other night because it's closer to the job.  So I can't post every single day, but I can post every day I'm around.

Now, thankfully I'll have another night at home before the deadline. Because of that, I'm going to hold back on voting for now. That I actually have any hope of a mafia member somehow giving themselves away on Day 1, but I never like voting early on Day 1.  So, no vote for now, but just checking in to make sure y'all know I'm around.

Hi Sirayn...lovely to finally meet the legend. :P I'm sorry I do not comprehend what you are asking. ;)  If you would like to know how I play when I am evil go ahead and read the Pub game.  *which, from what barmy says, you have been* As for my take on mafia.  I am addicted and working on getting better at playing.

Dangit! But I wanted to do a mass murder!

And Nae, plainly I can never tell you what she said now, just to drive you mad.

um yeh i remeber rhummy saying something about his thesis a bit ago on the other games ... and four votes in an hour does seem quite a few, but i wouldnt like to draw anything from that yet

I've posted the links.

As to four votes: I thought Vemy voted for me too, but it reads verbal now. Either I misread (which I doubt), or he editted. Since I'll probably be the random lynch today, I hope you remember this when you see I'm innocent.

Tried to check it by the "62 minutes", but that's between Naeann and Jelly. Vemy's vote is between those. Also, he has been online since my "four votes" remark:

Last Active: Today at 07:21:38 AM

So, for now, I'm gonna go with [glow=red,2,300]vemy[/glow].

Sirayn, I think you did play a game with vemy. The game where he was evil with me and Talya (and one more), and he falsely proclaimed finder. I remember you posting something like "Never thought anyone beside me could get away with faking finder".

Sirayn, I played 4 games, always as an innocent and only survived one of them, though not by any fault of mine :P (the 4th is still underway but I can feel my pending lynching). As for the rest

I am addicted and working on getting better at playing

Yeah, that sums it up. ^^

What about you? ;)

Current Vote Count:

Dae (2) Leelou - Loki

Thorum (2) Nae - Kivam

Verbal (2) Vemy - Luthine

Vemy (1) Thorum

(you can tell I skipped work today...)

I thought you voted for me, and I still remember seeing my name in the red square where you voted verbal.

Of course, I could have misread in going over it fast (though I checked twice - especially strange since in my memory it's still my name overthere). The only other option I see is you edited. The second option seems most plausible to me.

It cannot be proved one way or the other: edits not always appear on the bottom of posts, you logged in after I posted the "four" (so you could have changed it), and you were within the "62 min" (which proves you voting was not a halucination). If you know some other way??

And..... *drummer roll* [glow=red,2,300]Kivam[/glow] is the lucky winner of the vote today.... why you ask? because if you spell his name backwards it spells maviK... which is obviously an abbreviation for maverick, meaning loner... <.< >.>.... okay yeah it was totally random..

Thorum that is some of the worst logic ever.  Editing always shows at the bottom of the post and I  read it as Vemy voting for Verbal... thats because THAT IS WHO HE VOTED FOR.  You just convinced me to not change my vote.

With less than 24 hours to go before the deadline, I found myself at a crossroads.

For quite possibly the first time ever, I started to feel bad for Thorum. I mean, how could anyone make posts like that on day 1. So I watched and waited, looking for some shred of something that may reveal another player as a mafioso. And then it hit me:

Thorum, that dirty dog, is trying to reverse psychologe-me!  It won't work! [glow=red,2,300]Thorum[/glow]!

Now I have to go to the therapist to deal with my Siranxiety.  ;D

maybe...

*looks at everyone*

*backs away into a corner*

*goes into the fetal position*

I am going to hold back on who to vote for. At the moment I don't really have anything to go on for anyone.  :-\

I'm leaning towards Thorum because of his crappy logic and i think that he is letting slip a couple of things that he didn't mean to let go. He might of let some info go because, as he previously said, he is working on a thesis.

He might be tired and careless...yet atm i am not going to vote for him. Mainly because if he is tired and careless that might mean that he is innocent and is just being stupid.

Im not convinced that he is mafia but, as i said, i am leaning towards voting for him. I am going to hold back on my vote and vote at a later time, i need to absorb some more info.  ;)

Was going to hold off from voting but then if someone needs time on a dissertation this possibly aint the game to be in. This is going to get complicated  :P
