It should be obvious that many of those Power Roles, particularly the ones that get "passed on" to other players... Like say the Coroner, The Cop, The Doc, the Bus Driver, the Bunyip, the Mathematician, and the Traffic Analysist, aren't always going to go to Town...and some of them may well start on Mafia for all we know. (We have 20 power roles, not including the Stump and Spirit, and 14 players!)

 

What I don't know is how this.  

Works with Mafia' lying about player alignments and coroner type roles.

 

E.g. If Zander is Mafia gets a cop role, and then claims "Bob is Mafia", and leads a successful lynch on Bob.

Then DPR's slightly drunker twin Brother, DERP, who is also Mafia gets the Coroner Role, claims that Bob was in fact Mafia.

Does Bob get removed from the game for having their "Alignment revealed"? Or does only "true alignment revelations" remove Bob from the game?

 

If Mafia can lie and remove tree/spirts from the game, We're in for a world of... pain.

Dude, do you only speak in WIFOM? It is certainly possible to have roles end up in mafia hands temporarily. I doubt that any historically "town" roles like cop or doc would. That would be a big nerf to town, especially with the game starting at night.

That's not how coroner works. The player asks the MOD to reveal a dead players alignment.  Then at day start, the MOD reveals that in a statement. Otherwise,  you could never trust anyone's alignment.

@DPR,  you do announce the alignment yourself right? It doesn't make sense only the player gets it.

 

Also, since actions are simultaneously resolved do dead players get their results? Like if cop killed do they still get to see their peek?

Wut? You expect the mafia to have started with those roles. I don't think so. They could then hand the role to someone and kill them next night eliminating the role  permanently. That would be too powerful imo. 

 

If randomly done like that then the game is very swingy, again imo.

I don't think he'd put Coroner on a Mafia though, if only because allowing them to remove that from the game by the 2nd night would be too powerful... And there's plenty of other roles that the Mafia could already start with. But it still's possible that they could get these roles passed onto them by other players...

Yes, I always said they could get the roles passed to them. Which would be bad for us as explained earlier. 

 

I do think that in general the pro town thing is to have people keep their vote as lunching is a town thing and the more townies voting the better. There may be exceptions,  for one if people do get their results even if they die, that could be valuable. 

If the Coroner gets run up, then there is a big problem.

how big can mistakes be when discussing mechanics?

 

I see it as just false content and a distraction 
 

the one positive I guess is seeing who’s ring leading it and applying pressure to that person.
