I agree he sounds different. Currently I think/hope that's a likely a good sign. Technically I realise that's NAI cos there are worlds beyond "THANK THE FRICKING LIGHT A TOWN RAND!!!!" where Scum AJ might sound easy/happier here too.

IIRC, I found AJ's conclusions and explanations reassuring in the last game we were both Town, later on. But it was with more specific game/player-not-early-general-setup stuff.

I think scum!Darc tends to be a little more active D1, but has trouble maintaining it through the game. That said, the things she's commenting on seem more like town!darc than scum!darc to me. Also, even when she's town, she tends to be more of a middle of the pack level of poster. I don't know if I've ever seen her be even close to top poster in any game, and there is pretty much zero percent chance that happens with Chris in the game lol.

That's fair on AJ I guess. I just felt pretty strongly in our previous games fairly early that he was town. It's entirely possible I'm wrong and I'll get burned at some point. That's just where I'm at right now. I would not say it's a strong read at this point.

I've played with Dice a couple of times, and he's been nowhere near this active, but I think both games were on PerC, so again, could easily be a comfort thing. Pride has killed me more than once.

I mean, I get not wanting to fluffpost for an entire phase, but it's not like the game develops itself either, so...I guess people have to work with what they've got.

I was mostly concerned he was voting you without knowing how the voting worked since that had also been recently discussed and was clearly confusing other people. So I wasn't sure if he was voting you because he thought you were town or because he thought you were scum and/or was using to to pressure you (which it wouldn't do at all, because that's not how voting works this game), and he didn't clarify the vote at all. Context of the vote was important to me because he hadn't established he understood that voting was backwards yet. Hence my comment immediately after asking why he voted for you about voting being backwards potentially leading to confusion.

The two quotes above read like genuine confusion. Not saying scum!darc wouldn't call out seph on the mix up of names, but she was catching up real time and hadn't gotten to the part where seph explained the confusion.

Below, Darc agreeing with your strategy. I have found that town!darc is very open with saying if she agrees with someone else's reasoning. Obviously that's an easy thing for anyone to say as far as, yeah, it's pro-town to be open about how we're reading other people, but I see a lot of these types of comments from town!darc.

This was to Lenlo about AJ. I thought this was a really good question and a fair observation. It says to me that she's thinking about how to get a read AJ and if she can use Lenlo's meta read on AJ. Because if the voting mechanic is different, it could very well affect how town!AJ acts and trying to get lenlo's perspective on it, and making them think about it as well, seemed pretty pro-town to me.

All of that said, a lot of how I early read Darc is mostly on tone. Does she seem comfortable? If she does, she's probably either 3P or town (obviously no 3P this game, so that doesn't apply here). None of her response have felt forced, she's freely interacted with most people who have been around, and she seems like she's trying to sort people out.

For town, I'd be fine voting you. I'd also be fine voting Darc, though I think she'd probably hate me for it lol. I could also vote Chris for dumb reasons that have more to do with helping me get a read on him going forward.

For scum, i'm not sure yet. I feel pretty okay about most of the people who have been more active. I'm still trying to decide how I feel about seph. I'd like to see more from the lower posters.

AJ I think is probably town just because I believe he believes what he's saying, and it's coming from a perspective of trying to help town. I'd feel a hell of a lot stronger if it was actual game content than mechanics - there is zero doubt he spent as much time as I did strategizing pretend, and obviously he wouldnt have known whether he'd he town or mafia - so it's not super AI. But it's what I've got right now

Tripped is the same way plus general comfort in the thread. This is only her...third? Offsite game. Shes done a good job of bring active and seemed natural in the thread. Again, content vs mechanics...but it is what it is.

Cass is mostly I feel like I own her soul and am fine treating her as town ATP because tiny shriveled grapes
