I need to roll the Clov kill around in my head for a minute, but this pre-reveal post from Killa jumped out at me.

I didnt mean town look for him personally. I meant him giving up in attitude like I had was apparently not a town thing. I wanted to know if there was a usual method for the scum players here on dm in the order they try to eliminate the townies.

In experienced players opinions in the current game, who are the wolves likely to go for first? I suppose out of those you think are town.

I really do think kill is just town

I thought the scum would go for a different kill first. I am surprised they did clov in. I think it sucks because he is clever. Now I dont want to say which kill I was assuming they would go for because I dont want to give scum any ideas. Does that make sense or should I say?

 

Also agreeing with the logic would mean I agree with the points already made?

See, to me, this isn't gamesolving at all and It goes directly against what you said about saving fellow scum and glory.

 

Irony is, I'm looking at the Clov kill and I'm I'm sitting here thinking that people tinfloiing you over it is pointless and damning- everything you said yesterday points to a player that curates his rep, and that demands a set of behaviors be followed. LOLkilling Clov seems way out of character for that. Sure, there's a simplicity in it - who would be so obvious as that? But that doesn't jive with your definition of glory...

 

Then you flip your script and say it's okay to zilch an entire group because town has the numbers to absorb it. You're a weird cat.

I'm more interested in other folks opinions of what I replied to you. Your answer back matters, of course, but everything above strikes me as appealing to emotion in defense of what i said, and not contributing toward gamesolving. 

 

My points were just me putting my 2cents out there. I'm not casing you and no offense, but you are someone I can leave to resolve in later days if need be.

Finished the taxes in time and now I am caught up since my last post too.

 

I agree with the logic of Tigraine being scum team so far. I want to see her respond. Ya'll have been on it for ages and not a peep from her. Looks bad man.

I still am seriously null on darthe and Tress. I just dont see anything from either that reads wolf or village. I know I am unfamiliar with their play style so O am really relying on those I town read to figure it.

 

Again, no points. Doesn't see anything from Darthe or Tress that reads wolf or village, but has a scum read on Tigs who has posted less. Relies on people's opinions, of which many have posted reads on Darthe and Tress. 

 

Kronos hun. Aren't you more experienced at the game? Why are you posting so defeated? I did that but got over it a post later.

You should have a thicker skin from playing more mafia right...? That's my thinking and its not a good town look for you.

 

Has anyone discussed Kronos' level of experience? I don't remember reading that. "Defeated" seems too strong a use of words. "I did that but got over it a post later..." really feels like someone trying to cover for something that they considered a mistake and trying to wash it away. Sprinkle on the "not a good town look for you" even though she said above she has no experience with his play - so how does she know what his "town look" looks like?

 

Talk to us! People change their minds already before on this game. If not then you give up or you are probably a wolf in town clothing.

 

That's bordering on being a hypocritical request for someone who has posted very little. It's also got a little too emotion tied to it for someone who hasn't posted in a while and didn't post after.

I also noticed the Tigraine thing, but that's probably the only thing about that post that stood out to me when I read it. 

I don't really mind her take on Darthe and Tress, since I'm somewhat in agreement with her there.

IRT Kronos having experience I think it's fair to assume that since we've discussed her level of experience and asked about Tigraine's, and at the same time not mentioned Kronos' she would think that he has more experience. Idk if that's all wrong though.

Though "game-solving" for me is the idea that we can create a list of players that is essentially (number of wolves + number of mislynches) that contains the entire wolf team, aka PoE (process of elimination). For this that number would currently be 5 assuming we do not have an SK (or a vig, if he chose to shoot into the "established town"). Which while not a perfectly safe assumption is something I'm not going to think about until/if it happens. Any other night actions in the C9++ set-up besides a secondary kill don't remove any mislynches from the game (and potentially add more).

 

Keep in mind this is coming from a perspective of a player that typically is dead before the later lynches of a game and therefore is more focused on what he leaves to the remaining villagers post-death than just figuring out a list and being lazy the rest of the way. I don't think anyone would attribute laziness to my town or wolf games in general 

 

The goal for me is always to win, and to win as quick as possible. For me as a villager that means lynching as few villagers as possible

Makes sense but I personally dont like when someone fails reply to these type of observations. So I am replying so others have a chance of clarity on what I was actually trying to say instead of what you think I was trying to say.

 

Plus not every post everyone else makes here is gamesolving. Whats the difference in a small defense and other people spaming? It is still relevant imo.

That was my first thought.  Second thought was that there may be other potential explanations in a C9++ setup.

 

Still grateful though, because I seriously don't know if I could ever be comfortable town reading Clov, especially if we got to D3. :unsure:

I'm here have had an emergency type situation going on, quick question does anybody know anything more than Google has to tell about dry or delayed drowning? As it stands I am up until at least 5 a.m. watching for breathing irregularities in my 11 month-old daughter. I have never been able to fight my sleep but I'm hoping that rereading this game thread and trying to answer all of your questions/suspicions will help.

Manbat, you didn't specifically say the words, "you/she is going after me hard" but if you will read back through what I can only describe as your tantrum you will see it was heavily implied or at least that was my take on it.

I understand the wait-and-see logic regarding the SK. My MO is to speculate on game setup, but that did not go over well last game, or the game before as it's only been heard as wifom, so I'm intentionally avoiding it. Even though I really, really want to talk about it... but I digress.

To the rest, your gamesolving style is just taking me a bit to get used to. I'm having a difficult time trusting it - but that's the same argument I've had with Shad, Seph and others in past games and I get that it's an actual thing. It's semi-open, but villagers are mostly blind until we start getting flips. Wolves can speculate on the set-up since they know their team comp and can have some idea of the amount of village roles, but it's still randomized what roles exist.

tress, what are your thoughts on tigraine/ed/Kronos right now?

 

Working on my morning coffee and trying to make the brain waves sputter to life.

 

I'll start with Kronos because I've thought most about him.  His complete drop off in posting D1 had me super concerned because I know he has the same affliction I do, which is to despise rolling scum so badly it's demoralizing and makes me all kinds of thread avoid-y because I'm really not sure what I should say.  Not sure how I feel about the rationale that he forgot he was in a game, since he had actually posted in it several times after it started.  I like that he came back and that he's posting in the thread, but the fact that he's so reluctant to give any thoughts because he was wrong on Niniel worries me.  If he's still not willing to be transparent with his thoughts later in the day phase, it's going to read to me like mafia trying to avoid spew.  He's probably at the bottom of my POE unless I start seeing him be willing to open up.

 

As an aside, I totally get self-doubt, but being open with your thoughts as town is kind of important.  You could be wrong, and yeah you could be mislynched, but if you don't even try to give thoughts you will be mislynched and that won't help us figure out which people already knew you were town.
