[Advanced] Fight Club Mafia! - Game Thread!

I'm gonna take some time to rethink after Nolder's flip.  My instinct is to say I think DPR is still likely scum, because I really disliked some of the approaches he's taken lately, but I do want to consider the possibility that i'm just really really wrong, because hey, that's happened before.  If I decide he's still my most likely suspect I'll bring a proper case instead of going off the cuff.  

 

Aside from the pirate, Hallia's assumption that DPR would have to be town because he was in the ring with Darthe really didn't sit well with me, but we'll need her to be around to talk through stuff further.

 

And my brain is tired tonight so thinking will have to wait until tomorrow anyway.

I have no way of explaining why Nol wanted to be a huge flake. His approach to the game mirrored Darthe's, which was to exploit my meta to distract from everything else. It's been working all game (hence the petition to change the wording of the fourth rule of Fight Club to "If it's your first night, you have to fight... DPR.").

 

I'm still VT.

 

For the town:

 

1. We have a lot of VT flips. I'm more confident in my earlier observation that this is not a heavily rolled game. 

 

So far we have:

 

Sooh - ? (implies Janitor role)

Cuth - VT

BFG - VT

Nol - VT

 

Darthe - goon

 

I know I'm VT.

If you know you're VT, it's something to keep in mind.

 

 

2. For those convinced I'm scum, great. I look forward to my 4th night in the ring. 

 

But, probability dictates that I wouldn't be the last scum, so focus on other players today would be important.

3. At this point, my death is likely necessary to eliminate the distraction and resolve the slot. I'm okay with that. If my 2 scum hunch is correct, you'll burn another day, but you'll be left at 2/4 with a good bit of info, and the town can win it from there.

 

FWIW, I've never gambited before. I don't like the move. I sure as hell have never (nor will I) tried to pull off some harebrained plan that involves burning a janitorX for the sake of a horrible fake reveal. I'm obviously not overly sensitive about what people think of my play, but please.   

 

Blank-sheet the whole thing and pick out another player for me to fight that will give the most info.

Iron voted him in a private vote instead of Town Nolder who was also the other person besides DPR that Iron voted to fight.  If DPR is Scum and Iron was his partner he could have easily voted Nolder without drawing any suss to himself imo.

Im well aware of this fact, after my very first Minority Village game I set my account to private and Ive kept it there ever since.

 

Sure reading is reading and im not saying it by itself is some sort of certain Scum tell, its just noticeable and after the flip you both wernt posting but on checking many numerous times.

 

Its seems more like you both waiting to see the flow/state of the thread before responding which I find to be Scummy more often then not imo.

But this theory is debunked because i seen them multiple times, in which I mean there were times when they WERENT showing up as online at all.

 

That means they themselves closed it and then reopened it.

 

Again this isnt the be all end all for reading them one way or another, 

 

Its just something that should be factored into the read on them imo.

I am going to assume mafia plans to roleblock me if they can and leave me alive as long as possible because I really suck at F3. Therefore I should be alive for D5 with no useful information to share.

 

When I get home from work tonight, I am going through DPR'S ISO. I will before I go to bed post the things that concern me about his play so far, regardless of Darthe or anyone else. I want to give him time to respond during the nomination phase instead of yesterday's BS where he was throwing shade at me while Nolder was the only other one who could talk.

 

I am going to reconsider everyone else. That includes Dice and Zander and Ed, because I am a bit concerned whether I got distracted before I could solidify my read on Dice, and I don't know that it's plausible for both Zander and Ed to be town PRs.

 

I am not voting until late in the phase because I don't want to let mafia exploit my stupidity, but I am going to be watching and thinking and not taking anything for granted.

I chose to do the opposite. Back in the day, I made a decision to not set my account to private and I never have. 

 

Simply put, the game requires reading. Sometimes you're able to read, but it's impossible to respond (for any number of reasons) or you just want to watch and see who is going to exploit a situation.

I'm betting that there are more of you who are also VT.  The reason I've speculated that the game is not role heavy is that we've only seen VT's and a goon. 

 

So I'm wondering how a RB'er fits into this and why you would assume that one exists to be used against you?

I agree with DPR; I read a lot while at work or when I wake up in the middle of the night (pain pills can be a real bitch on sleep), but I don't always get to reply or even have coherent thoughts. Sometimes I start replying and can't finish until later because something comes up.

 

I get what Zander is saying about trend, though. DPR usually has an opinion, even if we don't wanna hear it.
