Thank you very much for the confidence you put in my, Kathy - I will try my utmost not to let you, or Dragonmount, down.

Elza Penfell was a Green who was "persuaded" by Verin to support Rand. Her warder, Fearil, was Black.
Not sure which one you're referring to, @Mailman?
Eldrith Jhondar was an Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah - she relaxed masking her bond with her Warder, Kennit, so he could follow her, but he was not a Darkfriend. In fact, he was trying to kill her for being Black.
-
The Reds are the largest Ajah, so statistically speaking there should be more Black in them than in others, but I now can't recall what the percentages are. Ie who has the highest percent of Black, etc.
Would be good if someone could refresh my ailing memory - don't have the time right now to research.
-
You could be right, though it's accepted lore that the Creator does not involve itself in anything other than creating. I also wouldn't say that the Dark One would "physically" erase people's memories, as per a previous discussion, but he could definitely have ordered his minions to destroy or hide books etc.
My thinking (at the moment) is that knowledge was lost because the world split and melded and people fled and then scrabbled to survive. Things were simply lost and each generation knew less. I can't recall now how long it was after the Breaking before the White Tower was built, but several hundred years at least, I think? If you think back to our time, how much has been lost in the past 1000 years only? Now think that "present time" in the WOT is 3000 years after the breaking.
If I just compare my generation to the current one, I'm horrified at the lack of knowledge now! LoL

That whole reveal of Verin to Egwene was presumably written by Brandon, not Robert. It's consistent with his judging of the level of intelligence of the average reader. Or maybe age.
-
I agree that the Browns seem to best "carry out the mission of their Ajah", so to speak. They are what they are and do what they should.
Though as you rightly mention, an awful lot of knowledge has been lost.

You'll do a dang poor job of "readying" yourself for battle if you never practice and participate. Which clearly showed when the White Tower was attacked by the Seanchan.
I would dearly love to take over as Amyrlin there and get those women into shape! All of the Ajahs. *growls*

You do realise that these aren't blog posts?

The first time I read the part where that guy (can't remember his name) was busy inventing the steam engine, I thought to myself "oh well there goes this world - it'll end up over-populated and polluted like we are now". It was the saddest moment of the whole series, for me.

Though that implicates she would miss the man's chanelling if she was totaly clueless that he did it.
It doesn't just implicate this - it states that, several times, in the Books.

I think they might have potentially developed this from the idea given from Moggy, although I am not sure if that was confirmed.
The Sister who invented the Weave that could detect a man channeling was a Green totally unrelated to Egwene, so I think it was probably something she came up with all on her own.

I believe somewhere RJ mentions in the Books that men with power wrought weapons often go through the motions of sharpening, even though they don't need it. This could be out of sheer habit, or disbelief.

Thank you 🙂
I just use Edge's Co-Pilot, free online.
-
It's a heck of a lot better than I could do with my hands, Heavy!
I made these using CoPilot. The poor dear can do amazing things but some concepts escape it.
The first attempt was very Amish, but with this 2nd one it managed to work towards voluptuous. Unfortunately the "banded" dress concept was all black and white:I got this one with colours, albeit randomly, but at least it was in the practice yard (its own suggestion, might I add!):

I think you should enroll as a novice at the White Tower and Warriors and eventually work your way up to being an Aes Sedai of the White Ajah.
-
I remember her!
I could give it a go, but it would be using AI. -

I must admit that usually I also prefer a faster paced story, but the Wheel of Time is just so unique. Everything Jordan wrote just drew me in further, and made it all more "real".
I'm sure ants have personalities *grins*

What does the "73 from" mean?
I've never been a religious person. When I was younger I equated that with being an Atheist, but as I grew older I wasn't so sure anymore. Then I got to know more about hyenas, and now I know there's some form of Creator out there and they really have a weird but wonderful sense of humour.

Hi Caelan 🙂
I agree with your concept - my thought was more that the Dark One can't actually create anything physical, like the Creator can. Instead, he has to manipulate others into doing what he wants - hence my supposition that he creates emotions.
-
I take it then that you are not English speaking by birth?
-
It's the end results that matter, right? Maybe the Dark One creates emotions, whereas the Creator creates matter.
-
Well put, in my opinion.
-
I think unto each their own. Ie we all have different interests, so not everyone will find every sentence of the books fascinating. I quite like the description of the ordinary things, like the clothes, for the same reasons Heavy mentioned, whereas the battle scenes mostly bore me.

I've been reading the WoT since the late 1990's, if I recall correctly. At some stage I started re-reading the whole series every time a new book came out, and then at least once more each year. I'd say I've read the earlier books at least 30 times. Even my terrible memory will retain some general bits and bobs ... lol
But just so you know, I had to double check the names (like Elza Penfell etc) because though the story sticks in my memory, I'm terrible with names. And dates.
