@Sarah Smith Welcome to Dragonmount! I can't even remember on what I started my FF journey, but I was already a working person by then. Read all those books you mentioned too, except for the Sanderson ones.

I'm afraid I'm still not through the welcome-thread in Tar Valon yet...
Oh dear ... is it too long and complicated?

I'm sure Lily wouldn't mind sharing their Dark Chip Cookies with you *grins*

My condolences to the New Zealanders, who played a fantastic game.
And of course to all the others who played but did not make it to the final: our neighbours Namibia, France, Italy, Uruguy, Ireland, Scotland, Tonga, Romania, Wales, Australia, Fiji, Georgia, Portugal, England, Japan, Argentina, Samoa & Chile.

*Pours Lily a cup* why don't you have a bit of this lovely looking Kaf with me?
You first ... 😁

I didn't mean to contradict Elgee. I love Elgee. I merely have a different opinion than she. I guess the Amyrlin and the Dark One's opinions would often differ.
*nods* I think Kaf is best.

This is your thread, so we can talk here about whatever you want 🙂
So we have various sections on here.
The Discussion are is relatively strait-forward: you have the WoT Book Discussions, WoT Series Discussions, General Discussions (other Series, etc).
Then we have the Roleplay section, where you create a character (you can have more than one) in a WoT setting. There are a few types of character you can create, like Aes Sedai, Warder, Aiel, etc.
The RP people will be able to tell you more about that - it's been a while since I RPed here 🙂
The last section we get to is the Social Groups (or Clubs, as some call them). They're a bit more difficult to explain, but I'll give it a try.
We have the same groupings as the RP side, but we don't RP characters - we are ourselves there. Sometimes we do a bit of "Lite RP", especially for ceremonies like Raising someone to Aes Sedai or something, but mostly we just talk like I'm doing here now.
The various groups have various interests, so you have to look around and see who talk about things that interest you most. Who do you really feel like hanging out with. All the groups are very welcoming to new people 🙂
You can of course belong to more than 1 group, though personally I don't favour that.

I never thought of combining her with Joline too ... now that's an interesting thought! Some people really disliked the Joline / Mat interchanges, but personally I loved them. I really wouldn't mind that particular merge - I think the chemistry between Alanna and Mat ... wowee
As for merging the character with Merise ... I don't like that so much. Not saying they won't do it, it just wouldn't really work for me. Opposite type of characters like that are needed, or this world will become very flat.

@SinisterDeath You did very well! 😁

I also had read the books for years, before venturing online one day to find out when the next book would be published. In doing so, I landed up at Dragonmount. I didn't even know places like this existed! I ghosted on here for almost a year before eventually making an account in 2006. First I was just on here, where the books are discussed, but then I saw things called Orgs (now Social Groups) and Role Playing. I investigated, and then joined the White Tower as a novice. Now I'm Amyrlin, for my sins ... hehehe

The aes sedais didn't even know what a Well was until "lews therin rand" pointed it out - it is a "paralis net". Or am i remembering that wrong? So it is safe to presume they thought she was very strong but infact she isn't without her ornaments?
No they don't work that way. Other chanelers would feel her real strength she is capable of herself, whether or not she's channeling or even embracing the source. I can't think where to find it now, but there's a quote from Graendal along the lines of "people who knew her strength would be surprised by the extra bit she could pull through the ring on her little finger".

Moiraine's strength in power equals to Siuan, Elida, and I think lelaine and romanda. Even Cadsuane is not on their level without her Shrike. And we know the shrike is not very powerful but it lets Cadsuane face some male channelers on equal footing.
If you mean Cadsuane is not on the level of the Wondergirls, that is correct.
If you mean on a level with Moiraine, Siuan, Elaida etc, then not correct.
Cadsuane is among the strongest Aes Sedai living in the third era, and prior to the beginning of the series, hers is the highest strength level of any Aes Sedai for many hundreds of years.
All living Aes Sedai (excluding Wondergirls) defer to her because of her strength.

Well, now I am getting all hot and bothered, but it used to be just that warm, fuzzy feeling in your stomach 😅
*Grins* ... I think we are going to like you!
Oh and don't believe a word Lily says - those Darkfriends are busy like little ... uhm ... demons, in the Dark 🤣

LoL ... you're not the only one who didn't remember, @Shawlee!
Thanks for reminding us, @Finnssss22 😀
So the T'A will explain the overpowered Moiraine, but what will explain the "apparently not bound by the 3 Oaths and can therefore murder people at will" Moiraine?
-
When you say "warm" .... how hot exactly is it getting?
Asking for a friend.

Well will you look at that ... Mr HeavySmartyPants speaks true!
SO glad we nabbed him for the WT 😁

Welcome to Dragonmount, Eirik!
I'm afraid I can't really help you with the technical stuff ... are you posting on your phone? table? laptop?
