I'm here.  I've been catching up and trying to make a reads list but, then realizing I wouldn't get it done in time to be done properly.  So, I have been trying to figure out who I am going to vote for.  It's been a toss up between: Bop and notbob.  Basically because of bops continuing persistence that notbob is naughty.  I do not know bops that well.  However, he did ask where to get the scumchat in beginning of game.  That has been used by others who were naughty to make it seem that they were nice and vice versa.  Which I do not understand to this day.     However, because I have seen some weird shite in games, I am going to give bop the benefit of the doubt and [v] notbob [/v]

lol @ Shad.  Dude, you spinning my sarcastic remarks about typos is some of the weaker play I've seen. I get that you got yourself all worked up, son, but you gotta know the difference between watching pieces fall into place and pounding them in with a hammer. I am disappoint.

Pushing a case on someone and then downplaying it as sarcasm when told how bad it was + accusing me of spinning him because I :???: direct quoted his post is pretty bottom barrel stuff. Lynch this guy. Profit.

Tiink is town btw. I was wrong. AJ overplayed the situation. I have emerged from the tunnel and the light of the morning is bright.

I'll read through the long post after i'm done eating lunch, but fwiw I didn't like him trying to sell Sooh sounding "better" when she did absolutely nothing of the sort.

Why not bring this up at the time?

Pretty sure we had a conversation about Sooh. I obviously don't think she sounds better. You pointed out the posts of hers you liked in response, when I asked. I would say this constitutes as me "bringing it up".

Not really. You asked a question that I answered but if you disagreed or thought I was wrong then you should've addressed me more. After I answered you dropped it and moved on. So?

I think NB is pushing alot of villagers

(shad, eldrick, Nyn) and his reasoning i don't follow or i find weak(for example shad because post count and eldrick to clear the chaff)

AJ said he's a straightforward read and a straight shooter early in the day then last night he said i need to throw out conventional wisdom to read NB. That puzzled me a bit since the two posts are contradictory IMO(throwing out conventional wisdom contradicts with straightforwardness). Also while people have agreed that NB seems wolfy, there appears to be a palpable resistance to voting his wagon since it couldn't get above a couple votes.

I don't think they are contradictory.

By conventional wisdom I am talking about exactly why you are suspicious of him. Townies aren't supposed to say they're okay with killing other possible townies to clear the board so it's less muddy and the real scum will be more obvious, but that's NotBob in a nutshell.

What you see is what you get.

It's a simple military tactic - the goal is to win the war and casualties are expected. By eliminating a negative or a weakness, you increase your chances of winning the war.

It's not likely to be the theme of the next Jerry Lewis telethon, but it's effective.

This is a good point but I dont remember the original case :/

I didn't unvote, did I?

[unvote][v]DRP[/v]

Weigh in on random

Haven't read him since his early pop in to tell us he wouldn't be around much, both of my kids are up now and I won't realistically be reading/participating for the remaining 25 minutes.

Just lynch DPR imo

You know, youd count as an intangible or weakness in that case, considering the established meta and your insistence on being both unfamiliar as well as unconventional.

lol don't be dense, you know what I am saying.

After I answered you, you never brought it up to me again or told me why I was wrong. So now I'm asking you why you didn't if you're going to smear me with it later.

Catching up and ready to be present. Some thoughts on my reading from page 46-current (in order as I go through pages):

The Shad / DPR stuff seems contrived. I get that DPRdoesnt want to be weighed down by meta, and support that, but his belittling of Shad's points seemed to lack much substance beyond "I'm DPR, you're not, suck it." While I appreciate the devil may care approach, whom does it serve? Not a hugely helpful town move.

I could be the Cleveland Browns for all I care. Towns statistically win more when villagers try to identify each other than when everyone refuses to cooperate based on the paranoia that all players have unlimited wolfing capacity.

I think I understand now... when the self-proclaimed Bradys and Mannings of Mafia tell you who the villagers are and how you are supposed to play it, you have to go along with that or they're gonna lynch you.

Seems legit.

You shitbirds are really something. I can't wait to see what greatness comes next.

Again, I appreciate the sentiment, but it almost seems overly antagonistic, which always makes me suspicious. Shad himself is playing rather similar of his last scum game, but I'm not ready to vote or strongly suss on that alone.

Nyn is my favorite person to read in mafia, content wise. I have zero meta on her, but she's ridiculously balanced. Null lean right now though.

Third game in a row with Darthe - he's playing his D1 game identically. While this in itself isn't enough to firmly label him either way for me, this type of play cost town the game the first time, and masked his wolf game in Hackers. I know he'll say he's not getting lynched D1, but I'm ready to hear how he intends to contribute to a town victory?

Sooh, I feel is getting the benefit of the doubt she screamed for in hackers, and I'm getting a town vibe there.

As such, I advocate we lynch Tiink today, Lenlo tomorrow, and me and Darthe will Eiffel tower Random to death to end the game.

I uh.... either I don't understand this, or I do and am both disturbed and somewhat flattered.

Calder is on his town game so far IMO.

Also, DPR, I understand where you're coming from irt Eldrick, in vacuum. Especially knowing this is your first game with him (and this is precisely why I asked early on). The problem with him though is that you can basically always find these  gaping logic holes in his posts, regardless of alignment. He says the most atrocious things. Because that's how he plays, for better or worse. I could easily sit here and critique it every single game with him...and policy lynch him for it.... but at some point I decided it's a waste of time and that I'm more interested in winning instead of telling him off, because I don't think he's going to change the way he plays. So I'm more.... lets say forgiving... at his proclivity of saying stuff that make me want to rip my hair off. And in a way... it feels like the more awful he sounds the more likely it is that he's town prolly. Because he has like no filter. With that said, I did find him taking off cause of cloudflare when AJ called him sketchy a bit awkward like... so I'll keep it in mind. I also wanna see what Hallia thinks once she catches up today.

On a semi related note, what are your thoughts on Wifi?

I like this response to DPR, as well as the point about Eldrick.

You're kinda sketching me out Eldrick.

Shouldnt be. He is saying dumb things but not pointedly wolfy

Exactly what I mean about Darthe.

I don't know Bop, but I get very suspicious when I see someone talking mechanics D1 like this:

I am not hunting for just a 3rd party. I am saying Calder is very reminiscent of Gods and Demons, where he was a cult leader/wolf. That means he is not town. I want to lynch not town. After ALL THAT I said I think he may be 3rd party. Even if I didnt think he was third party, I would still be down to lynch him.

So there are reasons that do involve prior games with Calder. And yes, 3rd parties are dangerous. I dont see why this is an issue for anyone that knows my experience with 3rd parties. #AlwaysLynchSurvivors

i don't know about this forum, but on several other sites i've played on, it is not uncommon for wolves to hunt for third parties because in hunting for them they can try to replicate their villager game and get by more. Though how one actually hunts for third parties, beats me. They usually say something about so and so could be a third party and it is a bit of a trigger especially early on in games.

so i can see why it may be concerning

It comes across like you're already trying to use some type of gambit proposal to set up a future play you'll make, or as away to try and take focus from sniffing out wolves and creating setup WIFOM. "Well, in this setup on most forums, scum would do this." That may not be your conclusion, but it's how that reads to me.

2. wrong. My question to DPR is why he thinks dricky is nervous not why he is voting for him. Big difference.

DPR says in the post you quoted "Beat me to it. I've never played with Eldrick and don't know a thing about his meta, but whenever anybody posts fluff and then goes back to explain why they posted fluff, it trips me. I also am not a big fan of meta-based cases in general. Anyone can change up a play style and equally, anyone can be having a day where they are distracted and post differently than they would."

When reading DPR's quote this would be the anwser to why he's reading DPR as nervous. DPR can chime in and if im mistaken then i concede that i was wrong about this point.

You're mistaken - no one is reading me as nervous. We await your concession.

Hey bop how do you feel about the thread atm? I know that's vague, I'm mostly interested in your thoughts on players developing fast relationships with you despite you being new.

I had to pick this post up with a plastic bag and then hold it with my forefinger and thumb before I dropped it n the trash.

There's a difference between "developing fast relationships" and systematically putting yourself into the orbit of every discussion so that you can sway opinions. Could be a scum tell, could be townie swagger - we'll know soon enough - but you asking nicely about how bop "feels" and then setting up a forum from which he can spread his gospel is diiiiiirrrrrty.

FOS Darther & bop.

Guys not gonna lie this post has me panicking, idk how to handle DPRs super strong FoS

Darthe and DPR on wolf team together, perhaps? Even jokingly, I don't see Darthe as any type of panicker.

For everyone else: I'm seeing a few things that don't mean much on D1 but could be telling depending on D1 lynch, flips etc. I don't see anything other than what I've listed worth voting over yet, so based on that:

[v] Darthe[/v]

shad, this is the post i had issue with.

any thoughts?

Im not sold on DPR yet, I treat him as a wait and see sort of read

lol at half the game trying to explain to me how I have to present reads on d1, and then none of them have reads.

lol again at Shat for threatening to lynch me and nobody calling that out as scummish. LOL

A special shout-out goes to Sooh for her reasonable post. It was a breath a fresh air.

Now, on to why Eldrick's play is complete and utter shite:

but I'm feeling like Eldrick has been less active as well.

My lack of activity Wednesday was prior explained. I hung out with my best friend.

I tried to dig into the thread when I got home, but was too tired to focus.

Friday is a busy day for me and I'm typically not on until later (hi).

Go ahead and use that against me though. People using short term lack of activity is seriously scummy, and I will gladly vote you for it if you try to push that angle.

From my perspective, your early posts seemed shaky. I commented on it, bop came to your rescue, then you laid low. My experience is that it's common to see a player talk too much, then pull a vanishing act to mitigate the damage. This is usually followed by questions being put to that player to explain their behavior. A flustered answer usually results in more heat being put on that player, and so on.

Your response is new to me - not because I haven't seen people bullshit before, but because you seem to think I'm going to believe you? I'm not sure if this is a joke or not - seriously - so if it is, please let me know and I'll treat it as such.

Regardless, your logic stream for the rest of the post is jacked - you go from "I've already given the reason why" to "and then this happened" with the "I was tired" thing, all the way to "and now for something completely random" by mentioning how busy you were.

And then, the capper: you polish it off with whining about how I'll probably use it against you. Then you follow in Shat's footsteps with the "I will lynch you" threat.

This entire post is laughable.

I don't believe you. I don't care what your excuses are. Here's a tissue, and vote me all you want. Done and done. Saves time and reading.

FTFM

And here you have to go back and correct your facts. Not that you're nervous or anything...

Ok. Now to Bop.

It's been bugging me that he townread me because of my post count. Thinking about it, most of the posts I made when he gave that read were fluff posts. The number of posts meant diddly.

It really feels like an easy town read on someone. I'm curious why the people that agreed with his read (aj and Sooh I think) did so.

Distancing. Terrible and obvious distancing.

***

And then we fast forward to where you do the same duck & run routine on posts #1108 thru #1111 - I don't know how to link them and my multiquote didn't work for whatever reason. Regardless, you get called out for being "sketchy", you try to explain it off, get called sketchy again and you blame Cloudflare for ditching the thread...

So, even though it's only d1, it seems like you have already created a pattern of disappearing anytime someone calls you out on a post.

To me, this isn't town play. This is awkward scum play.

LOL @ Darther for jumping on that shit like it's a the golden trampoline of opportunity.

Ima Vote: AJ with Calder.

I don't know yet if Shad is scum or just a spaz, and Darther might well be scum, but that'll only become more obvious. NB is much more dangerous to leave on the field, but I do at least understand his logic and that has value in my eyes. bop is a concern, but he'll show tells tomorrow that should be easy enough to spot. Eldrick, aside from cluttering the thread, is not as much of a threat as the thought leaders so he can roll.

The rest will fall out soon enough. We get the bus drivers sorted and we'll have whole lot less static to work through.

I would wreck you old man <3

Sure you would. Now skedaddle and change out of those wet pants.
