Can you expand on this? I fully admit I can't read her for sh*t... and usually I sorta lean on someone like Sooh that seems to get her (if she's a town read).... but just involvement wise, she feels a little without compared to some other games I've seen her in. So I'd like to hear what things exactly are making you lean town?

Low post count isn't terribly important. I'm not sure she's capable of being a high volume wolf, but she can be a low volume villager if she's busy or whatever.

 

Wifi's the easiest read on Dragonmount because she's not really aware of her own method of expressing her thoughts as a villager and to date has never made an attempt to replicate them.  #737 in particular probably never happens if she's a wolf.  If her game tanks I'll be all over it but I highly doubt that happens.

 

I can post a more extensive comparison when I have time and she has more content on the table, but for now suffice to say she's my top read.

We don't agree on how to play the game. That's fine. But the fact that most of your game thus far has focused on that rather than figuring out people's alignments is something I am starting believe means you are probably scum.

 

Let's take your last post, you break down my post saying im framing my arguement to make you look bad but end it with a comment implying you still think im town. Great, you have an open mind, that is good, but right now, if you had to guess, take a stance and tell me if im a wolf or a villager. I promise you can re-evaluate later.

So, Shad is definitely town here. There is a daylight difference between this game and his previous game where he was wolf. More assertive and more curious.

 

Also, agree with him w.r.t wifi. It is not that difficult to read her and so far she has been sounding town.

#914 - Not sure how characteristically Darthe this is. Seems like he’s making some overly obvious reads and going out of his way to state how some very ordinary posts are good and others are bad. 

 

Shad - Leaning town. It's the tone more than anything else. I haven't really seen him as aggressive as this early on D1 but imo he's got the tendency to overthink things and I can't be sure if he's got a scum read on DPR or if his frustration is more with finding out exactly how DPR thinks. I can chalk up his aggression to more that more than him entering the game as scum and overcompensating. Don't think the interaction with Eldrick is meaningful.

I get what you're saying but not sure how indicative of alignment this is. I mean he's literally saying in his post that the way he plays the game does not revolve around tunneling down and figuring out people's alignments on D1 and you're criticizing him for not doing so. The progression of why he's talking about "how to play the game" seems pretty natural on my reread starting with Shad trying to get in his head to figure him out. Your frustration gives you some town cred imo. 

 

I could go the other way and say that you pegging DPR as scum for that seems too easy, but you seem like a competent player and I don't think that'd be your way of calling him out if you were scum.

I'm sort of surprised that people are legitimately taking issue with mine and Tiink's exchange on like pg 2. I'm basically where Shad's at on Tiink minus the Overwatch paranoia cause I didn't play that game. I'm not really seeing an issue yet but not seeing any real reason to town read either. I also don't think I've ever seen town!Tiink so I wouldn't even know what to expect.

I just think that tiink seemed to come after you rather hotly?  violently? No that's not right either...  .   Just seemed like tiink wanted to take your head off or something ? 

 

 

just because you make a read, doesn't mean you have to be married to it. you can change it. this game isn't just about being right, it's about making reads and backing them up with how you got there so people can get an idea of how you play/read the game and also lets people get a read on you, because making yourself an obvious town when you are town is just as important, if not more so, than being correct.

I think it's definitely more important to make yourself accurately read than it is to be right. Town is consistently wrong, so while being right is important, showing that you're town is more so.

 

 

So, I totally agree with the bold blue , as I am wrong like 99.99% of the time and I get read as naughty "wolf" because of it.  Or I should say because I feel for sure that I am RIGHT, but I am so, wrong, dreadfully wrong. I look like a liar 99.99% of the time.  I am easily distracted and since I don't take notes of the game its hard for me to keep up to date on people. Especially a game this big.  That leaves us to bold purple. It is more important to show by your actions that you are town than by your reads.

Which again could be a clash of play styles but still raises the question whether or not if he really thinks your approach is so vastly different/wrong or he's just discrediting you.

And that's the most straight forward way of reading it and it's fine.  A lot of what makes him ping me every time he opens his mouth is when he's not being blunt he comes off eloquent at a glance and incoherent if I think it through by the steps he's presenting.

 

I get the impression Shad is focussing on rep more than this game. I say that because we are in d1, barely past (or maybe not even) the shitposting and it would be silly to spec on player's alignments so early because of the high-percentage chance that you'll be wrong.

 

As in he's literally arguing the point that I don't feel focused on the game by noting that I'm making a bunch of reads instead of :???:

 

And I can nitpick verbage with him in lieu of accepting the general "Shad's a try hard" vibe that the post gives off, but that's not going to lead me towards discerning whether his wording has an agenda/thought-process behind it or if he's just a guy who likes to write with a bit of flare but isn't putting any more consideration into it than a blunt poster.

 

Hence my question to him that I don't have high hopes of an answer on.

Shad comments on his past scum games and DPR makes several comments implying that shad should get a life rather than read people's past games(the comments from DPR telling shad he should get out more rather than read older games). If DPR thinks you might be a wolf trying to post things that look like content that would be one thing but since he isn't really considering your alignment yet, whats the point of his comments other than to antagonize or ruffle feathers, and unless there is some bad blood between the two of you what's the point?

I agree with the bold. That's how I read it too.

I'm ok with him not having a read yet, though. It's still very early and several reads aren't developed yet.

What's his take away from all that? I can probably assume but what I want to see is the connecting of the dots and follow through otherwise it reads more like he's just deflecting and arguing to counter punch rather than actually try to resolve Shad. It's the progression that matters imo.

I think there might be something going on with the site, like some virus attack or some such. My antivirus wouldn't let me get on DM for the last hour lol

 

My antivirus has rejected the site since last year and a half.  Has something to do with the advertising sites I think, at least on mobile device.  It makes it so that I can't go between tabs, which sucks. Anyway, I don't think it can be fixed.  You just have to click: allow site or whatever your antivirus says....well at least that's what I had to do.
