I want to see more from Hellian. I understand his rationale against Zander early game and don't mind it, but sticking to the narrow focus and only pushing that or defending himself isn't a good look.

AFAICT his game related posts have been:

- FoS Zander for high content

- Caveat/talk about watching player interactions (Ok, but no follow up besides questionning me for pressing Shad)

- Misc stuff about D1 being random and differences between sites and catching up etc

- Would look for wolves in high post/low cotent or low posters (Ok but generic)

- Non-current game talk about policy lynches/play as SK with Nolder

- Sees no case for Zander's vote of him

- Responds with reasonable comment/attitude to Dice's push of him

- Agrees with Nol's push at Shad for self vote

- Puts Shad Town - more content in his high post count (fair assessment), reading him as a hyperactive townie

- FoS at Zander for spamming up the thread, but chalks it up to too much time on Z's hands

- Votes Zander, for 'OMGUS'.

- Asks doesn't Shad find Zander wierd

- Questions me, suggests Shad's behaviour would be to OTT for Wolf

- Is sensitive/?shading that Zander may be mistaking him for Hallia

The bold's the posts that stick out to me. Overall it's very narrow/ignorant of the rest of the thread and based heavily on generic tells, which I find scummy and out of context with the way he started out ITT.

Specifically there's a decent amount of early fluff which I took for being eager to be involved but then it kind of peters down to only pushing Zander. He could just be a player that works through one slot that pings him at a time. He does differentiate between Zander and Shad for content in their high volume which could be Towny consideration but it's pretty thin when the post immediately before he agrees with Nol against Shad.

Happy with him in the WTL for now.

His freak outs of Believer not changing his vote around stand out though. Not sure why anyone would be particularly freaked out about someone not changing their vote. Maybe it's something, maybe it's nothing.

I commented on this when I looked at Demons Cove yesterday.

We're allowed to unvote in this game, right? The way I read the rules makes it seem like it's allowed, but not necessary. And joke votes shouldn't stay on someone for more than one vote count cause that's just dumb.

In Zander's defence I actually thought Hellian was a hydra of Hallia plus other but since I'm not a hyperactive hamster I went and double checked what I was reading.

It's not that I have a better suggestion it's that I have a problem with approaching trying to solve a game from the perspective of " how do we not lose". Bad reason to push a lynch. I'd prefer dice tbh

If you want me to piece together an explanation on how I reached my read on Zander based on his posts in this game, you might have to wait a while. I'm asked to do this pretty often and there isn't some A-->B-->C-->Town linearity to it. I've read him correctly early in pretty much every game since Matrix. I know what town!Zander looks like and I know what scum!Zander looks like and they're usually glaringly different. When I've seen enough of the former I call it town and stick to that until I have reason to doubt it.

Believe me, if I thought he was a wolf I would be pulling out every nitty gritty detail to try and convince the rest of the village of it. I think he's town and consensus agrees so trying to build a case to prove it--or to prove that my read was an honest opinion, at any rate--is really tedious. It doesn't accomplish anything except to make you feel better on my slot, if it even accomplishes that, at the expense of an hour of my time that I would prefer to focus on game solving.

Thought it would be as much. Was worth a try :rolleyes:

It's just a bunch of stuff like "scum could have this many players", discussing general strategies in mafia or talking about possible character claims. Generally just super innocuous and his posts are just stating things disguised as a contribution which don't actually add to this game's discussion.

This forum takes D1 a lot more seriously than any other I've ever been to, in my opinion needlessly.For me, the game really starts on D2.
We didn't lynch a wolf D1 in your only other game here on accident.
Sure, but I expect any scum lynch on D1 to be because of bad play from the scum rather than good from the town. I'm sure you would agree in the example you gave, at least.

IMO D1 is random and usually based on shit cases. Sifting through the pages of meta, I can't say that I have a read on any of you yet, but it is still early. While my previous vote on Zander wouldn't count, because I didn't follow site etiquette, I would still lean towards finding scum in either the high poster/low content range or someone trying to coast in the low posts. Unfortunately, on this site I would fall in the low range, but I'll try to do better to keep up.

Also, do I need to unvote?

See, Hellion, for the record this is something I policy lynch.

In my view (and I can explain why if you want) self voting is never a pro town move.

That isn't to say that townies don't do it because I'm sure we've all seen it before but as a tactic it is never advantageous for a town player to do this and, imo, it needs to be answered with a policy lynch to discourage others from doing it in the future for whatever reason.

If anyone needs further justification to vote Shad let me throw this out there for you, this is either a gross attempt at AtE or game throwing if Shad is Town.

Take your pick but either way he needs to be lynched at the end of this day as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed. I have seen it as a mod-killable offense. On day-1 without any heat it's a bit lame. If you are going to self-vote, you should at least tell everyone to go eat a bag of dicks first.

But at least in my mind, a player with some experience comes to a new site...and pops only 1 Scum read and rides that read all game?

I have trouble thinking that a new player has that kind of confidence with it.

And not only that mentions having no Meta and being a Meta player yet when multiple players in the game explain to him this is normal, it dont change anything.

I dont see how this comes from a Town!PoV but Im all ears for an explanation.

1. Tiinker-Town-Decent progression, clear thought process. How experienced is Tiink btw? Think I've only got 2 games with him.
2. Nolder-Null-low content, besides getting into a bit of a stupid argument with Shad. He's aware that this is his town meta and is capable of faking it as mafia. Indeterminate either way.
3. Kat-Slight Town-Decent reads list. Not enough content to be a firm read.
4. Dice-Slight scum-content consists of jumping on Shad's AtE. Easy to do as scum, though not an unreasonable town move.
5. WiFi-Scum-Her AtE is awful. Explained more below.
6. Hallia-Town-As per character claim.
7. John Snow-Town
8. Darthe-Slight town-Gut
9. Zander/Cass-Town-Gut from Cass. But I'm always happy with a Zander lynch.
10. Pral-Null?-Actually 0 content. As in absolutely 0.
11. Hellian-Slight Scum-Gut
12. Believer-Scum-See Below
13. Ironeyes-Scum-Reads list looks good, but a lot of fluff. A lot of "well this happened in DC" and (fake?) confusion. It feels like he's got a lot more content than he does until you ISO him.

14. Shad-Slight Town-Good questions, good WiM. AtE is off putting.

Okay, so the difference between Shad's AtE and WiFi's is that Shad's reads as frustrated, where as WiFi reads as "woe is me, feel bad for me".

The former isn't hard to form as scum, but you don't see the latter on a townie that has no pressure. It's most commonly seen (imo) on a townie who's getting lynched and has no idea how to prove their town, or on a mafioso with a guilty conscience.
