Zander - #570 what do you mean by emo rage stuff? You talk about Mish who I don't recall seeing any rage from, and Kivam has explained the emo 'test' at this point.

 

#685 - I also don't know what to make of this. The last game we were in I was not clear town and was only not mislynched because I was a 'named' town role. This feels a bit like Belichick when you jumped on AJ's 'prod' on meta.

but I'm not sure what to think of the rest. Suffice to say that I'm not sure comparing how I act in a game that has ~25 pages Day 1 to one that has ~25 pages each RL Day is going to do any of us any favours. I have always had an inverse relationship between posting and game volume and I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned recently as well as been an issue in several games I've played while you've been around, so sort of meh here.

 

But I'm not sure a meta debate is the best way to go here /shrug

 

 

 

Shad #734 - a bad sign? Not necessarily, it seems a little strange that he picks up on Sanders dislike of gambits and misses the 'joke'.

 

 

I found myself deleting a lot of points above, mostly to do with Kivam as they were dealt with a page or so after I noticed them.

 

Suffice to say I'm cautiously liking Nyn here, but will likely be reading that slot from Dice (currently liking the tone, but need more content). Razen seems pretty on the ball and has found a few details that I liked :) I'm not noticing as much from Hallia or Sili after pretty strong starts. I'm cautiously reading AJ town as well, mostly for the Mish/Kivam joint read, but also for the response to Mish on Shad. Reminded me of a couple of similar incidents in Belichick, a sort of off-the-cuff response without thinking too much behind it.

 

Kivam/Mish are mostly null at this point despite the thread focus and will likely remain so until I can ISO them and pay real attention. Zander's sort of standing out here in the posts that he chooses to respond to (not sure that's the word to use) for example, he seems to carry on about Kivam's 'emu' but fails to acknowledge the 'test' argument even to say he doesn't believe it. His read hasn't really evolved, although it's still early days here.

 

Shad seems pretty solid, hunting for both town and mafia, a few points to query (again will probably need an ISO), but off the top of my head he votes Mish for not checking Shads position on his vote. Yet the timing is off (I think). Shad calls out Hallia for place holding her vote, Sept calls Shad out for doing the same and then Shad says that he was happy with the vote because of Zander... I need to check Shade progression on Zander here, but it seems odd at the moment.

 

And I'm at my entry point for tonight and finally feel I know something about what people are talking about :)

Last night Yates might have had a few that weren't much toward the gamesolve, but he also had several after that were prodding and imo were contributing to gamesolve, so why the misrep, here? I'm feeling hella good about Yatesy right now. Especially after his posts today.

 

Wombat's though were ALL fluff. Like I mentioned a page or so back, it makes me wary because this is exactly how he started the last game I was in with him - where we were on a scum team together.

You're right about AJ.  Gut feeling that Wombat got worked over by RNGesus.  I think AJ's sounded pretty good this far and I like that he's going against the grain a bit with the Wombat vote, but I'm not sure I would follow him there at this point.  I need to more content to judge Wombat on than his quotes.

 

Not sure how you feel I misrepped Yates at all?  He absolutely quoted and replied to a handful of posts last night, and I don't see an argument for any of them being alignment indicative until he finally got back to me about Nyn.  If you felt any of his posts before he directly asked me about her were prodding, I don't know what you're seeing.  The closest thing to actual solving was his post towards Shad about quote clipping, which I don't think means anything for Yates' alignment or Shad's.

I think too many people lept on the "If my memory is right, he likes to lurk as scum, and hasn't checked in yet" statement as an obvious scum tell and the whole thing feels overplayed. His Pral comment is misleading but I expect intentional Kiv spin to have more of an agenda and the statement might have just come off wrong.  He's spent a lot of time defending himself and he's taking heat for it, but that's what you do when people bombard you with questions and I'm pretty null on his answers.  They don't seem like a stretch.  My issue is with Kiv's other head and it's something I have to weigh against a bad feeling irt the pressure on him.

Considering how big this game is, there's a suprisingly small amount of talk... I really would've expected something else to happen by now. Why is so many laying low and being careful?

I suspect because of how big this game is. Like, you're in a hydra with Kiv because of the size of the game, right? We also have quite a few new faces that can't really participate in a lot of the meta discussion going on or weigh in on inside jokes.

 

While you are here, can you tell me in your own words what your hydra buddy was doing with the Pral stuff? The less filter the better. Also, can you give me your personal opinion on Lainey's lynch a hydra plan? Again, just want to know YOUR perspective without taking your hydra head into account. I think it will make you easier to read as an individual instead of as a two-headed monster.

Honestly, I have no idea what he wants with Pral, he hasn't posted much in our QT after the hydra talk, even tho I've been trying to ask him questions. I told him I thought it was a stupid post to begin with and to drop it. He has not, and hasn't replied to me. So I dunno if he's still emo and sulking or whatever. I'm annoyed at least.

 

I still think "lynch all hydras" is a stupid strategy and I've though so ever since Mynd introduced it last year. The "cutting down on posts to sift through" argument is BS; then you should lynch the top posters, not hydras. And it makes as little sense to choose hydras as a group as everyone who has an od number as their slot number, or everyone with an "a" in their name. Plus, it's not how I like to play mafia. I generally DGAF about the mathematical play, it's not my style. I'm an emotional gut player, not an analytical mathematical one. To keep bringing it up to me just disrupts D1 play. Instead of letting a conversation naturally develop, you force an issue that is very easy for mafia to stay out of or make themselves look good in. Arguing game mechaanics over actualy gameplay = BLEH. It doesn't help me the least in my style of playing. It just gives mafia an excuse to sit back and take it chill D1.
