I get why you don't fake peek in a 9er. You get three mislynchs which is three days and that simply isn't enough time to build a credible fake claim day 2 and still withdraw in time to save collective skins. I get why some people don't appreciate seer cover. You don't whether or not to believe someone, to push their peeks, or whatnot. Personally I ignore other fake claims, but certainly I understand the different perspectives.

 

This game I faked being seer because it was an easy way to help town when i had neither deep thought or effort in reserve. I didn't think about the ramifications of a small game, truthfully, because i was barely paying attention.

 

I didn't unclaim, because sometimes you don't need to. Better not to require the seer to out themselves to get a wolf lynched.

 

 

As to that modkill, I did not see the text below. In some games modkills happen at the end of hte phase, in others they happen as the game progresses, and in rare cases they stop the game. perhaps it has something to do with the size of the game, but i haven't considered this angle. wasn't expecting the night phase. the structure of the post didn't emphasize it, and my eyes weren't drawn to 'it is now night', and so i tapped in a short message as i walked.

 

i redacted it as soon as i saw expecting to be chastised for something innocuous and not modkilled.

Sooh played that okay IMO. Her vote on sili was pretty clearly a cc from my viewpoint.

 

There were a few hints in there also. One I remember (I think) was saying she needs to.keaen to.play vt Or sommat. The post csarmi brought up is exactly what you would look for for peek clues if she were killed w/o revealing.

Of all the people doing seer cover I think Sili was the most obvious one because he mispoke and said he chose to view Cass on N0. So imo it was clear from the get go that Sili was fibbing (obviously I was also privy to the fact that Cass was scum lol). The one that looked a lot more convincing was Yates. What really worked against Sooh is that she confronted Sili as if he hard claimed, when he never really did. Granted both scum and town can do seer cover for obvious reasons.... but I think Sili did it so badly, as Yates pointed out, that she shouldn't have voted him for merely that.

 

But what I feel  made her look worse... and why no one believed her was that she didn't really react the same way when Yates claimed. And Yates DID hardclaim. Another thing I would have her do differently is claim properly. She didn't name her N0 peek. She said it was obvious... well... when you claim seer you back it up with your results. It's no time to be obscure. 

 

Keep in mind that I was mentoring a scum slot so it was obvious to me that she was the seer. But had I been playing and wasn't scum? I totally would have took her as a spazzing scum that is claiming seer to draw out a CC before she gets strung up. Espesically with Yates CCing her the way he did. Had he not done that, though, I wouldn't have lynched an uncced seer. So that's not on Sooh, imo.

To be fair, as you alluded to earlier Nyn, you really need to know how to claim as well. Sooh's claim came out sloppy and inaccurate. Call it typos or whatever but you HAVE to be careful that what you type when you claim is accurate because you don't get a 2nd chance if you fumble your claim. Fumbled claims lead to lynches A LOT - just ask Sili!Merlin. That flubbed claim absolutely would have lead to the real Seer getting lynched and indirectly lead to both of the modkills. All in all, pretty much the worst case scenario happened because of 1 poorly executed claim. And that IS Sooh's responsibility.

 

@Sooh - you know I love you and don't intend a lick of malice. Just use this as a learning opportunity. Like, I learned that you can't quote mod posts and fill in blanks because that will get you modkilled in Csarmi, Kaylee, or Cory games... <_<

My problem with it is that I think you presented yourself as the seer in such a strong way that as far as everyone could tell you were the seer and sooh was scum false claiming. So other people piling on her is legit... because at the end of the day you gotta decide who you believe.

 

But you, specifically, knew your own role an alignment... and without a CC on Sooh I don't feel like you should have pushed her because you couldn't possibly know for sure that she wasn't the Seer. I think the game was at a point where it was okay for the Seer to come forward anyhow. It's true that scum happen to shoot one of her peeks... but generally speaking coming into day 2 with 7 people and being able to clear 3 is no small feat. So I still feel like you should have waited for her to be CCed instead of just imposing your impression because everyone mistook you for the Seer.

 

It's fine. You did your usual shenanigans and it backfired. Happens. And I do agree that Sooh could have done a better job at claiming. Live and learn.

I think town could have won this game easily. Cass and Dice were being too lurky. BFG specifically had dice in her scum and Cass in her nulls on D1 (needs a mentor my a$$ :P). Starting D2 both Yates and Clov said the lynch pool was four people, two of which were dice and Cass. Plus scum didn't manage to shoot the seer N1 and most likely would have missed her again on N2 from the way things were going (ie from chatting to Cass the NK would have prolly been between Yates and Tress). 

 

But then Sili did his thing, thereby eliminating the scummies from the lynching pool (lol). And then Sooh got pushed as the lynch...and had to claim, with Yates countering it cause he didn't believe her. Even if the MKs didn't happen I think that was already a train wreck waiting to happen... xD    Anyone on Sooh's train would have looked pretty terrible... and the scum team wasn't even on it (though Sooh was getting ready to vote there).
