I think you wanted to believe I was an idiot because it made things easier for you. Frankly you had no compelling reason to think I would pull that sort of gambit, nor would I ever.

 

1. I never said you were an idiot. Some of the better players of the site have tried silly gambits in the past.

3. I had no compelling reason to think there would be a bastard role in an advanced game. Since I don't know you, it seemed more probable that you were trying some sort of shtick and being a derp town. Or alternatively that you were gutsy scum trying to take out a power townie.

4. I wasn't on your train, so I don't really understand why I'm getting 'tude and eye rolling, but whatever. You weren't really doing much but sheeping people so I had no problem with you getting lynched anyhow since I was mostly glad to have the wifom out of the way and Des basically cleared.

Probably helped that Verb, Leelou, and Tommy were all scum.  They like to kill their enemies outright and then worry about spinning it later.

It is a bastard role. it's intervening in a player's content. Legit roles are given to players to do with what they choose to do and represent themselves as they wish. If you force a player's hand to post whatever scum wants them to post, it's a bastard role. We scumhunt and solve by content. Screwing with it is screwing with our ability to solve that slot and basically guarantees a mislynch.

 

I've never seen it in a game before. If i had, I would have called it way before now. The fact that mods got away with having this role in their game without categorizing the game as a bastard game doesn't give it merit. Nor that the setup was approved (which btw, it shouldn't have with this role under the category of advanced).

Vote controlling is tiptoeing around it but it's not really that damning because the player can still post properly and his/her content can be looked over and examined properly. Post controlling doesn't allow this. Ergo, bastard role.

Other roles like Roleblockers, Bus drivers, Vig, Cop..... you give a role to a person and he/she chooses what to do with it. If they make smart choices it benefits them. If they make silly choices then they come up empty. Post controlling is 100% favorable to scum and 0% favorable to town. There is no way around it, there is no choice that leads to an outcome. You give them a townie mislynch on a silver platter and it directly interferes with the game.

I was pretty surprised that Sili was the lynch.  It should have been obvious that he wasn't trolling and even if it wasn't obvious he should have been given a phase.
