Hopefully one of those hammer votes should count... Anywho other thoughts while we wait for the flip (which I'm feeling okay about atm)

 

For the moment, my reads... don't think i'll post much today

 

Jack - I found him quite jumpy at the beginning. But he may have been fishing for reactions. I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt so far.

Lily - I didn't understand her focus on Kronos. So far, I find her active and she does read the wot, it could count as a sign if scumhunting. Leaning town.

Wombat - Quite constructive in his posts, but there's nothing really relevant at the moment. it's a null for me.

Ame - I found his vote against Jack having not enough substance, but his lasts posts are better. I wouldn't vote him now

Vos - Seeing how much Nolder is on his back, i may want to give him the benefit of the doubt too (see post 308).

Despo - I didn't like his post about being the only one to do stuff on D1 and leave unpunished. I'd give him a null read though as I dont think he'd have posted

Replacement/Xtrax - too soon

Ice - too soon

Lenlo - don't have reads

Dap - Well i'm a bit confused by him using the punctuation Kronos used to say he could be scum ... it looks a bit overdone. First he said not much, then with his post 291 he uses real details to push ideas.

Dawn - too soon

Nolder - I don't like his vote against Des. It looks a lot like it's only a way to defend himself, as he had reads about others.

His posts make him look like a veteran with a lot of material and all, could be trying to build himself some credit.

Cloud - less active at the moment, so null for me. Helpful with the replacement, i note. Asked interesting questions in the beginning of the game.

This is a pretty bad reads list, I'm trying to determine if it's derptown or scum. There's essentially one "scum read" on this list, Dap, and it's not very strong, while you say you're gonng give umpteen other people "the benefit of the doubt". In a mafia game.

 

Just a quick question, did you read what Des was accusing me of and my rebuttal?

He's either very absentminded this game (not usual for him) or he's trying to lie about me.

For example he said that I said I'd do my WOT "within seconds" when I clearly said I'd do it tomorrow.

He twisted, stretched, and forgot other key facts which I've all addressed.

 

It's cool if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt, that's your prerogative, but how do I come out of that looking like the bad guy?

 

You're basically outed scum to me Nolder. I never said you'd do your wot within seconds, complete misrep. I said you were fluffing instead of coming down with a stance on anything. I then proved that you were. Your flagrant OMGUS is gross.

 

I've never twisted or stretched anything to suit a case of mine. You really thought that you could omgus and try and discredit me and win? You're done for, man.

Especially wierded out at Nolder giving me a hard time and a lecture for just providing one sentence explanation, saying that everyone else is not mind-readers... one should always explain ones vote with a logic case. And then he drops a unvote vote cloud out of the blue? Not even sure what to say here. 

Indeed. It was partly a move to illustrate why explanations are good and necessary.

I was actually really hoping you'd be the first person to comment on it. I hope that every townie takes the lesson to heart.

 

Anyways, my vote.

It's pretty simple actually.

I don't trust Des a whit but the deadline is coming up.

I didn't know exactly how close due to the link being bad when I voted but I could guess it would be today or tomorrow.

Meaning there's probably not enough time to drive a train up on Des. So what do I do? I look at the votes.

 

Four trains jump out. Amega, Cloud, and Player at 2 votes each and Jack at 3.

While it's obviously time for some consolidation per the deadline (my reason for moving my vote in the first place) there's also something to be said for competing trains.

I'm also not overly suspect of Jack anyway. So that leaves my options as Amega, Cloud, and Player. Frankly, looking at Jacks train, I think I like the company best on Cloud.

I may not have cased him personally but sometimes you gotta go with gut impressions. I have a town lean on wombat and everyone on Jack seems at least a little dirty to me.

The logical move was Cloud.

 

I hope I've explained it to your satisfaction.

So you're saying that Vos gave a good reason for voting Jack, but even if he didn't it wasn't that scummy.  Looks like you might have already decided Vos's alignment to me.  Either that or you don't want Vos's vote to be viewed as scummy because yours was very similar.

 

This could be a good catch. Could also have been scum!Wombat finding something derp on Cloud's part, but eh I like that Wombat was looking for stuff like this. Even tho I hate his null read which is really more like the strongest town reads ever apparently going by how much he has defended him on Jack, but eh this is a start at least. We'll see if he was right soon.

The transition point neared and the Clausius-Claperyon equation asserted itself.  A phase transition from one region to the next.  In the old regime, the general public had many misunderstandings about science.  They clamored about theories without knowing that in science a theory is something that has been tested over and over and proven correct, something that can make predictions.   No longer did people fall prey to charlatans who used fancy words and "sciency" terms in order to take others money.  No longer did the public believe that just because a technology had the word nuclear in it, like Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging technology used in MRI machines at hospitals, would it be dangerous to you.  No longer did the public fall for anti-vaccination scams from movie starlets or panic about cell phones causing cancer.  The public was now informed.  Education was the key to changing how the public understood science.

With 14 alive it takes 8 to lynch.

 

Due to this alone really i now have amega as a strong town read.

If he were mafia there would be no point spending an entire day setting up a player, only to have the option of who to lynch and choose someone else.

Also cloud flipping mafia strengthens the point. Cos if they were a team he could of easily chosen jack and no one would particularly bat and eye (compared to losing a teammate)

Just woke up and caught up, comments to follow.

Happy we nailed Cloud though. I gotta be honest when reading his posts I was starting to think he was town.

Glad I trusted my instincts this time. Great job everyone.
