"Lynch Verbal!  He's obvious scum!"

With that, the crowd strung up the Bastard Mod.  Verbal peered back at the folks gathered and starting laughing.  But he wasn't the only one laughing.  Tina stepped forward and cut the rope off Verbal's neck.

"I shall defend you, Master."

"Yes.............War.  I told the X-men to ensure the Horsemen were gone before lynching me.  I told them in the beginning.  Defend me well."

With that, the dice began spinning.  War stood proudly in front of the Bastard Mod and peered at the 2 others who had also voted him.  1 in 4 chance, and the dice smiled upon War this day.  Beams of energy shot from War's hands and vaporized both of the others who tried to lynch War's master.  There was collateral damage among the Horsemen, but War could not control the energy and watched a fellow Horsemen die.  The other was actually not a mutant at all - he was a simple human who had somehow survived this long on his own.

Aemon, Pestilence, has been killed.

Darthe, Dr. Bolivar Trask, has been killed.

Night came, and only the Truthsayer remained.  He had no power to fight off a member of the Horsemen, and was easily dispatched in the night.

Salami, Archangel, has been killed.

When day came, War stood proudly in front of Apocalypse.

"It is over, Master."

"Yes, my minion.  You did well.  Very well.  Glory is yours.  I will find you companions to replace the fallen Horsemen.  You all shall ride again.

THE MAFIA (AND THE BASTARD MOD) HAVE WON THE GAME.

And now for an explanation on the mechanics, followed by the roles.

Mechanics:

The mafia had no power except their NK.  The town was rolled up the wazoo, with no vanilla.  There were safeguards in place to prevent the mafia being massacred, such as the Town Lovers (Mish & Des).  Also, the town was super rolled up, but it was spread out among multiple people.  Town's mistake in this was not having key members reveal their role at the proper time.  If the town tried to lynch me before the Horsemen were dead, they would defend me....each Horseman had a different % and setup for how they'd protect.  The most dangerous was actually Death, who died via one of the safeguards I put into place to help the town (Siblings White & Red Queen).  War happened to be the 2nd most potent Horseman, which was unfortunate for the town.  Famine and Pestilence were pretty weak for defending me, and would likely have only served to delay my lynch and inform town that Horsemen lived.  So the town had a lot of advantages, but some of you assumed too much about roles & mechanics, and didn't bother asking me questions, or talking it out more on thread.  But that's how the cookie crumbles.  ;-)

Roles to follow.

Town Roles:

Mish (Shadowcat - Lover) - if Colossus was killed, she could choose between sacrifice or vengeance.  Sacrifice would have made Colossus unlynchable for the remainder of the game, and Vengeance killed her, Colossus, and whoever NKed or was the hammer if it was a lynch.  MOD NOTE:  you all assumed too much with "vengeance kills".  They didn't exist as a targeted function.

Des (Colossus - Lover) - if Shadowcat was killed, the exact same options would have been available as above.

Nolder (Polaris - Reverse Roleblocker) - can roleblock all actions performed against a player each night.  MOD NOTE:  Wombat accurately called this a Rolestopper, but I named this role long before anybody called the role Rolestopper, and before it was on mafiascum....so credit is MINE, mofos!  heh

Dice (Juggernaut - Unvote Stopper) - once he votes a player, no prior votes on that player can be unvoted until Juggernaut removes his vote.  MOD NOTE:  Mish, this is why you could not unvote early in the game - Dice had stopped all potential unvotes with his vote.  Yes, I invented this role as well.  ;-)

Salami (Archangel - Truthsayer) - each night can make a player's "appears as" alignment (what a Cop would see) match their actual alignment and the player's name will be marked in gold.  MOD NOTE:  This is why I said the mark of truth is golden - any player in gold would be a correct viewing for the Cop.

Ishy (Beast - Lie Detector) - 50% success rate on LDing a post each day phase.  MOD NOTE:  yeah, town had a freakin' LD.  Super powerful, but he died early.  Oops?

Krak (Mimic - Death Mimic) - could take over the role of a dead player each night, but not get alignment or communication privileges.  MOD NOTE:  ridiculously important role, as he was the ultimate backup for each town role that needed to work together.  He smartly took Nolder's role and was the new "Rolestopper/Doc", but was lynched without revealing....which was a huge mistake by all involved, lol.

Lily (Psylocke - Cop) - typical Cop role but would only get the "appears as" result.  MOD NOTE:  This was why the Truthsayer was important - in tandem, they could identify Horsemen and town with 100% accuracy.  Mimic being able to back up these roles was powerful as well.  I hope you're all seeing how powerful the town truly was in this game.  You just happened to hit the safeguards for the mafia.....a lot.  hehe

RTE (Bishop - Timekeeper) - could extend the deadline for any phase by telling town first, and then PMing me.  MOD NOTE:  RTE got lucky in 2 ways:  (1) I helped him understand that he could ask for negative hours and therefore shorten phases.  That took a lot of back & forth and taunting by me, lol.  (2) He somehow managed to post and submit within the same minute, and I gave him the benefit of the doubt and accepted it each time.  I was in a giving mood, lol.  Totally negated a mafia NK that would have killed Tina  - she was going to kill Des that night, lol.  Good luck for mafia, lol.

Dap (Red Queen - Hellfire Mason Leader) - 50% chance to recruit a player to a Mason group that would have had a QT.  Could not recruit mafia, and was a Sibling with the White Queen (mafia) and died in the same phase.  MOD NOTE:  this is what killed Pralaya, who was the most powerful mafia.  I linked them on purpose, as I wanted the town to have a chance to not face Death in defending me....which would have been really bad, lol.

Wombat (Caliban - Psychic) - was informed at the end of each phase how many Horsemen were still alive.  Role stipulated that once revealing anything remotely close to this knowledge, he would be immediately modkilled.  MOD NOTE:  most important role in the game for town.  Only Caliban could sacrifice himself to tell the town that it was safe to lynch me.  Had town lynched me once mafia were dead, I would have died as well and town would have won.  Town even had Mimic to be a backup for Caliban if he died before being able to give the all-clear.

Nyn (Havok - Recharged Vigilante) - 2 vig NKs for the whole game, but after each one I'd inform town they were weakened - at that point, a single vote would have killed Havok.  Bad luck on shots, lol.

Mafia Roles:

Pralaya (White Queen - Death - Horseman) - Sibling with the Red Queen (Dap) and die in the same phase.  If defending me, Death had a 50% chance to kill every voter on my train, including other mafia.  I would have revealed who Death was to the game in this event.  MOD NOTE:  bummer he died because of Dap dying....I was hoping for a Death defense, lol.  Because of the high %, he would have been revealed to town and therefore lynched the next day...or even killed by himself if he had voted me as well, heh.

Berf/Aemon (Warpath - Pestilence - Horseman) - If defending me, Pestilence had a 10% chance to kill every voter on my train, including other mafia.  I would not have revealed Pestilence if he defended me.

Lenlo (Jubilee - Famine - Horseman) - If defending me, Famine had a 10% chance to kill every voter on my train, but not including other mafia.  I would have revealed Famine to the town if he defended me.  MOD NOTE:  this was the weakest Horseman.

Tina (Cable - War - Horseman) - If defending me, War had a 25% chance to kill every voter on my train, including other mafia.  I would have revealed (and did, lol) War to the town if she defended me.  MOD NOTE:  War was the 2nd most powerful mafia.  Tina was a random.org number away from imploding the entire train on me and allowing Salami to walk away with a town win due to not voting me.  Damn close.

Solo Role:

Darthe (Dr. Bolivar Trask - Sentinel Bomb Maker) - places a cloaked Sentinel assigned to a player each night.  If all players, or a majority of town if Horsemen were all dead, had a Sentinel assigned to them, they would have started killing players and Dr. Trask would have had a solo "SK" victory.  MOD NOTE:  Darthe did well to survive on his own, but had the bad luck of War's defense of me added to the fact that he kept choosing people that died shortly thereafter, lol.

So there you have it.

17 players

-4 mafia

-1 solo

-12 town

If mafia want their QT posted, they may do so.  Sadly, Dap never got to have a QT.

Thank you for participating in the first ever Bastard game I created.

I've since made others, and I'll be running my greatest invention once I'm up on the Advanced queue again.

THE BASTARD MOD WINS AGAIN, LEWS THERIN.

Heh thought I sealed the win with that verb lynch. You guys ruined me with that modkill and those four deaths.

Tina was marked and I intended to target Aemon for the win tonight.
