Not Bob is hiding his reasons to vote with the "my standard play" reasoning.  Not committing to a scum read on lenlo.

 

BTW...I do have pre-game info....but it's no different than any other town pre game info.  Csarmi was correct.

My main point (which didn't go through, assuming from the reactions) was that the "no rush to run people up" argument is a weak one.

Pressuring people is town play - keeping vote counts and information down is maffia play.

 

When I had previously mentioned not liking rush lynches you said why not?

Bold: I said nothing about keeping vote counts down. I said that I didn't like rush lynches and votes, especially with no real reason such as a guilty cop viewing. To rush a lynch does keep information down and helps only mafia. So I'm confused on what you mean by the bold. Is it because I wasn't voting anyone yet? I felt no need to rush in. Atm there was no deadline and I am still getting a feel for everyone.

Keeping information and vote counts low, playing cautiously: not adding votes, not putting people up, slowing down days in general is maffia play - there is information to be had in pressuring people, yes, in rushing people up as well (how do people react to the train building, how do people defend their train, etc).

See, this is what I was originally responding to. You were against "rushing someone up". Worse, you were justifying your cautious play with that.

Now maybe you and I mean different things by "rushing someone up"? Cause for me that means putting quite a few votes on someone fast.

So it was Quibby who brought up this "rush to lynch" nonsense. I didn't remember where it came from. It sounds like a deliberate misinterpretation.

 

People can be run up, but rushing gives little information. This early with little to no reason rushing a lynch would not be in the interest of town.

Now somehow you're talking about "rushing a lynch" too. Please note that I never said anything about that - it's Quibby's words and yours. Rushing to run somebody up <> rushing to lynch someone.

Also, running people up DOES yield information.

 

I'm talking about all this because it is something that I see going wrong time and time again. People justify (to themselves or to others) that they shouldn't be voting yet. They shouldn't be playing yet. They shouldn't prssure people. So many dogmas out there to help maffia play. People need to be pressured, trains need to be built (more than one per day).

 

This is really a problem around here. With your argument Kaylee (don't wanna rush yet) I saw the beginning of that. Keeping information low.

But Quibby's deliberate misinterpretation and Kaylee catching it up promptly is something that I find worth noting.

As far as I know, there's no connection between those. At least not a direct connection. (the indirect connection is that I was online so I chatted some - and apparently so was Darthe)

 

I spent an hour or so yesterday evening to create my game excel sheet, to catch up with my notes/reads, and such.

I realized that there were a few players I had hardly anything on (Luci, NotBob, Dice) and I found Cloud's play "interesting". So I asked them some questions.

Its general chat set into the game because I like the individual that it was intended for. It has no true bearing on the game.

 

If you don't enjoy being with the people the gane itself will not be enjotable to you man. Thats why I talk to them at times.

 

Lastly, Notbob, your inability to understand my decisions in a game is nobodies fault but your own. The little personal vendetta you have against me is beginning to hurt my ability to enjoy playing mafia here. I'm not happy about that. Nobody is going to lynch because you dont want to put effort in though and it makes you look like an asshole. Try asking questions and putting some effort in next time. It'll get you further.

I'm not hiding anything.  I'm committed to lynching players who act anti-town. A self vote is anti-town.

I'm not fully caught up on the posts from last night but I wanted to clarify something.

 

Csarmi: running someone up- I meant a lynch, so Quibby didnt add that, he just picked up on it.

 

I never said there was anything wrong with pressure votes. You're putting words in my mouth now. I was telling about rushing voting because if it's on a townie mafia rush in to make the lynch happen. It's harder to get information on. The conversations we're having now and giving the player a chance to speak yields more information.

 

I do agree with you, as I said above, about pressure votes giving information. I personally hadn't voted yet because I was unsure of who to vote. It wasn't because I didn't want to contribute or start playing.
