Why are you guys failing to heed my warning???

ABANDON SHIP - DPR IS A TOWN BELOVED PRINCESS!!!
Posted

Was Mish scum defending here or scum buddying Town about to be lynched?  Bear in mind that DPR was at L-1 at that point.  Mish strikes me as the kind of player to take advantage of an opportunity like this.  This is why I think I'm reluctant to go there.

Damnit.  I also wanted to add this: why wouldn't Mish just hammer for the Town credit?  UNLESS she was looking for Town cred by NOT hammering.  See what I'm saying?  Yeah, this is a terrible mislynch waiting to happen.  I'm not having it.

Sixes one way, Sixes the other.

Could have been either. And that's what I'm saying. His play before the claim wasn't any good either. He was pushing in all sorts of random directions looking to see what would stick. I mentioned before in reference to Darthe, telling everyone to vote him while suggesting people not pay attention to him. The exact opposite of what you are encouraging at the moment which is good.

You say "Look at DPR and tell me why we should vote him based on his play." Good.

DPR says "Don't look at Darthe's play its scummy, trust me, just vote him now." Bad.

So I didn't want to simply take down a townie (Millers are townies, remember) because I was hoping to get a better case than the normal "auto lynch Millers"?  Fo realz?  I literally waited minutes, and then she imploded and got modkilled.  And lucky for us, was a good lynch as the symp.  But casing me implies I'm scum - why would I not just pile a vote on Mish?  The "auto lynch Millers" is a perfect way to bury a vote - it would never get suspected and you know it.  I don't know where this opportunistic casing is coming from, but I'm going to fight it tooth and nail.

Considering 24 hour days and a mislynch the first day you fence sitting really stuck out.

Too add to my point:  mafia want townies dead.  They would know Mish wasn't scum (the chance of that being the symp is so small that I'm not even willing to consider it, especially because mafia don't know who the symp is by role design)......so they would simply pile on.  They either get a townie Miller lynched in a super safe lynch for them to be on, or they get a power role fake claiming killed....which is even better as it is under the guise of a super safe lynch.

Mafia also want town cred and you could easily gain that if she was indeed the miller.

Point out where and why his play was scummy instead of making general statements.

Mish would not hammer her own teammate if she even knew who the mafia was. On MS I could see a play like that but it's counterintuitive to how they work here. Just my opinion though, you could be right.

Personally I wanted DPR dead well before his claim, that has simply served to reaffirm it to me.

I guess what I'm really trying to impart to everyone, though, is this...

Ok I just came back home and I'm currently busy with catching up. I see that the thread has exploded while I have been out for half a day..

I would love the ability to multi quote on a phone. I can single quote, and if I do it will be about 10-20 posts long, but full case on DPR possibly incoming

Damn I wish I had an ISO button. @Verb, why don't we have an ISO button?

Also: the logic for not lunging DPR is atrocious. If you aren't certain (which town aren't because evidence is circumstantial) then he is a liability. Unfortunately, even if DPR is town his power will become more hazardous for us the further we go into the game.

The reason is threefold:

1) no mafia worth their salt would kill someone so controversial.

2) the longer the mafia has to plan for his death the more influential and meaningful they can make their kills.

3) the only benefit to his role is extra PR uses of their abilities and the longer we wait the more likely it is that those PRs will be compromised or killed, nullifying their use.

Further, Yates, you made a point that a cop would have viewed him and revealed In this instance. This simply isn't true for a multitude of reasons.

1) the cop could have chosen to not use a view on someone already so likely to die.

2) DPR could have an ability like Nexus or godfather (example) if he is mafia

3) Roleblokers etc

4) dumb cop

5) no standard cop

Leaving him alive is the worst decision available. Further, that kind of logic and fearmongeri g doesn't sound like town Yates.

Now onto casing.

I'd really want DPR dead at this point. His death must let us know about why it was important not to lynch him first day: I didn't see anyone advocating no lynch, but that was the result. If he is what he said bad for us, we'd better get our shit together, but letting him just hang out there hurts every day cause we'll never know.

I'll tell you that from a Town perspective, it was a mistake to not lynch me - the Town needs info, and without it, we're going to lose. Missing any future lynches is a sure path to a Town loss.

I've tried to say all of this as flat as possible. It's just information. We need it to win.

DPR stated this in the first night. His train has been the only legitimate one of the day. Town can it readily move past this issue without creating serious issues down the road and that is proven by the past two days worth if voting on DPR. Is role is irrelevant to that simple fact, and really is only relevant to the consequences of his life and death if we assume that he is telling the truth.

We have nine hours until deadline right now. The Hally train is a clear bluff (look at my quoted entirety of the case on her) to distract and confuse.

Now onto casing.

1. No mafia would kill the role - being controversial has nothing to do with it.

2. I don't even understand this point - you are obviously reaching here and not even making sense. How does anyone make a more meaningful kill?

3. You contradict an otherwise perfectly non-sensical point. What? It's a role - nothing nullifies it's use.

You are making shit up from left-field.

What you go on to provide as reasons a cop wouldn't check me is just fear-mongering in and of itself.
