After all that sh*t about me early game not contributing?

Get that niller town!

This vanilla claim is almost on par with the miller claim.

Why everyone is ignoring the fact that if DPR is a Beloved Princess we are just helping the scumz is beyond me.

Why everyone is ignoring the fact the DPR's alignment is resolvable is equally baffling.

Why everyone is ignoring the fact DPR would have been last night's investigation target and no investigator [*hint* *hint*] has come forward with a guilty on him means he's either a GF [highly unlikely], was redirected [equally unlikely], or actually Town is really troubling.

Do I have to fake an innocent cop result on DPR to get it to sink in that a DPR lynch is going to end badly for us?

Sorry was working on my car for a bit.

Looks like the Verb train fell apart. For the record, hesitating to lynch a claimed miller is pretty much a lynchable offense in any game. In a game with 24hr deadlines its more than enough imo. The "oh half the day hadn't passed yet" excuse doesn't even come close to passing muster.

But whatevs.

Yes.  His play doesn't match his role and defending him isn't helping it.  He dies or he remains a WIFOM to us until it is resolved, besides the fact that he is the best info lynch that we have available thus far.  The only reason not to lynch him is his role and play trumps role every time.

Get back in your cage Bobo.

You're right, beloved is testable.

unvote. Vote DPR

I see what you did there...

Just to have this on the record, the mafia will be enjoying two for one kills after I swing. I'm past trying to argue against my demise, but I do hope that the Town is keeping careful track of who is pushing for my lynch.

Hesitating to lynch a townie you might believe is no such thing.  Granted, she was actually not a Miller, but Millers usually come out and claim that - I was surprised to see it and thought perhaps she could tie herself up in knots if pressured more....that way we'd have a better feeling for the lynch instead of thinking we'd be killing a townie to remove the WIFOM.

Think outside the box.  She committed suicide by mod, so it didn't matter.  But the premise behind my actions was logical - obtain as much info as possible before committing to an action that would likely have killed a townie.  It was minutes since her claim - saying my reasoning doesn't "pass muster" is ludicrous.

FOS Des for not seeing a reasonable explanation for what it was - reasonable.

This is ridiculous - my play has not been contrary to my role at all and i've made a point to explain everything I've done so that it is in the open and on record.

You however, have been relentless in pursuing my lynch to the extant that you have barely commented on anyone else's play. I've previously pointed out that even if i was Mafia, I couldn't be the only one.  You are actually adding to the wifom and making it worse. You care to explain that?

Well, if you get to the lynch max and don't die we know don't we?

Who are you talking to?

He is actually playing a legitimate angle.  Don't think for a second you are conf Town.  Because: News Flash - you aren't.  If you aren't lynched today it will only be due to MY good graces and powers of persuasion.  Step up your game if you are Town.  If you aren't you WILL be outed.  Of this, I am 100% certain.

How does the beloved princess role work?  I can't get to the mafiascum site.

If you lynch a Princess - Town loses a day phase as a penalty to the Town.  If the Princess if mafia killed - it's just a mafia kill and there is no penalty to the Town.

First, Google is having issues this morning so if you go into you cache and remove all of the Google-related stuff, you might be able to surf faster. UNless you are running Chrome, in which case don't do that. heh

Somebody posted it a while back, but I'll go grab it.

Here's the official:

Beloved Princess

Beloved Princess Alias:
  • Princess
Alignment: Role type:
  • Passive
  • Negative Utility
Choice:
  • None

Beloved Princess is a player who, upon death, causes the next Day phase to be skipped.

"Beloved" has also been seen as a role modifier that duplicates this effect.

Beloved roles are most often pro-Town. They are either seen in setups designed especially for them (so it is acceptable for their death to be a "punishment" for the Town) or in role madness games where skipping a Day phase is not a complete disaster.

Despite the name, Beloved is not a well-liked modifier in most contexts. It is seldom seen and possibly still overused.

Variations

A common variation for Beloved Princess is that the Day-skipping event only occurs if the Beloved player is lynched. If the Beloved player is killed in any other way, nothing special happens. This significantly increases the chance of the Beloved role not crippling the Town.

Use and Power

As mentioned before, Beloved players only show up in games designed around them or in role madness scenarios due to their ability to take away a Day away from the Town.

In games designed around them, there is generally some kind of safety net in the game linked to the Beloved role such that if the Beloved player dies, the Town deserves what they get. For instance, in the game in which Beloved Princess initially appeared there was a Guard role that knew who the Princess was and had a limited-shot ability to protect the Princess from kills. In addition, it was known in advance that the Princess and Guard were in the game. This sort of setup can make for an interesting Mafia variant; however, it is susceptible to being wrecked by bad play from the Guard or Princess.

In role madness games, a Beloved role simply serves to add emphasis to the impact of the game's Night actions. To that end, it increases the swing of the game even more. As it still punishes Town overall, it serves as a heavy-handed means of weakening the Town.
