Worst part about the Smash Bros game was when a few people started compulsively listing all claims and role pm's, the thread vomited through my computer screen for like 10 pages straight.... I still have chills.

Also, one of our cop teammates (Tress was the other if I'm not mistaken), was just dreadful. I sealed the victory with the vengeance kill on Nyanna lol. Mirror was a fun role.

I'm sorry, what?  People posted their role PMs?

Lol. I've been debating how to work the roles a little still this time... So maybe. That backfired last time when people did that including the link to their QTs which was an unintended consequence I spaced on when I allowed quoting of PMs.

It was an interesting/experimental game. I said in the rules it was allowed to quote anything I said in PM's (include role info) unless specifically stated otherwise. The whole setup and goal was kind of to make role claiming useless. It worked. But I goofed because when listing the Role PM they would post the QT links as well which wasn't intended. It worked out though and didn't ruin the game as any shared QTs wouldn't have helped anyone anyway except to know what NAs each team submitted.

Everyone on the game started on a Mason team of 2. Each team had 1 power role between the two of them. If one of them died, the effectiveness of the role would be diminished somehow, but the remaining team member would receive a vengance 1 shot kill. There were also a team of 2 survivors and 2 core mafia members. Then, at a certain point near the half-way point of day 1, semi-randomly (based on the characters I had evil versions of) certain people were converted to mafia effectively making them recruitable symps. If the 2 core mafia members found them, they'd be added to the mafia QT. The symps each knew who one of the other 4 symps were. Also the symps had the option of winning with their single teammate with the stipulation the teammate had to live to end game.

Nothing about the game was intended to by typical and the rules made it clear. Tough game to mod with 12 QTs going on, but it was super fun for me and I think everyone liked it pretty good to.

I've decided for Smash 2, before the game starts, I'm going to post a roster of "playable" characters. Each player will be able to choose their character on a first come first served basis once the game starts. There will be more characters to choose from than there are people in the game, so even if you get there last you still have a choice of who's left. Roles will be based on characters. You want to be Mario? Gotta be quick to the draw. Could Mario be mafia? Yes.

I'd love for it to be another large game of 24 people. That might be difficult with current DM numbers, but AH's game seems to be doing well with 24 so I'm optimistic.

Pikachu (and Pichu too) will be an option, but you'll just have to claim him once the game starts. Besides, its still months away as there's 2-3 more people in the queue in front of me.

While it sounds complicated, I'm not sure it is even mafia at that point.  But if people had fun, that's all that matters.

That's a fair point, but I'd argue that the core structure was still there. Informed Minority (though to a lesser extent than normal I suppose) vs. Uninformed Majority. Town vs. Mafia. It's more mafia than the game we had where there was no mafia at all in Thak, just a SK that would transfer to a new person whenever they were killed until there was only 1 person left standing. I think Kat did that game, can't remember.
