"Sorry! Doing a reread will post thoughts soon"

Does a "reread"...

"I'm unsure but I'm going to go with the majority vote because of reason already stated a million times and to avoid random"

^

This is the guy you don't want in your games..

I vote those types for faking rereads, not for being inactive.

I've often thought of being a bit more inactive - just to see what would happen, but I'm just too much of a chatterbox.

I would double policy lynch you. That's what would happen. And I'd probably be scum.

Not to drift too far off the subject, but they aren't always faking it. Sometimes I reread and get nothing more than what I already knew.

Anyone would think you didn't trust me

I don't. But if we're mafia together sometime, I'll let you get back at me by calling you "scum" on D1 so that you can lynch me for a Kivam Gambit.

Yes I know. You are uniquely suspicious :)

Well that would be a dead giveaway. I don't ever call anyone scum.

I love rereads

It's like watching a film or reading a book again, so so many little gems that you missed

Plus is easy for mafia to hide in the now, but a lot lot harder to hide in the past with all their actions suddenly not quite lining up with the now

This is probably the main reason you almost always seem suspicious to me. I've learned to put it aside most of the time but I always feel like that will come back to bite me one day lol.

A double policy lynch? Is that like being on double secret probation?

That's what makes me so hard to read. I play the same way, regardless of alignment - confused.

Something others try so hard to do...and it doesn't even help lol.

I really wish I could decipher the clues like some of you do. I can see them sometimes when they're pointed out to me, but I rarely find things on my own. *sigh* I keep telling myself I'll get better if I keep playing, but it's not working out that way.

I think the elitist attitude should stop honestly. I think Cindy makes some very good points new people don't want to play and long term people start leaving.

As for inactive people, well I still think it should be handled in a Modly level. Like Darthe's suggestion. Players taking it into their own hands will always be seen as a strategy to me. Sabotaging the game to prove a point gets penalized in many sports.

No, I'd be the mudslinger. You'd then get annoyed at me and then I'd continue and things would escalate and I'd end up lynched. It would probably be too obvious but whatever.

Also, iirc one of the many reasons we caught Red pretending to be you was her using the word "scum." She also omitted those superfluous u's you Brits like to use and called your bonded your warder or something like that.

Ah yes. I was reeeeeeaaaaaaaalllly unhappy about that. Took it far too seriously lol.

I am very capable of getting annoyed though. I'd probably end up getting myself Lynched for 'over reacting' and 'being all emotional'.

Hmmmmmm ... this is all just part of your plan to get me Lynched on Day 1 isn't it?

well ithi your sort of proving the point, as most of the inactives are town, they are more of a liability than any help, hence you lynch a few people as an example to stop the rest from following

It's a numbers game. You lose numbers ... you just lose.

Making this game rule and threat heavy isn't going to encourage anyone to join in and play. People have their own level of activity they can commit to.

I wonder how you will feel about this if you actually do it and see Town after Town lynched, without any analytical reasons, and then wonder what the hell happened. It's a Mafia Team dream this is.

They don't even have to justify their votes anymore. Well done.

This is true

I haven't read the whole thread but I did read Cindy's post and I also agree with her. People make mistakes and do silly things, but that's no reason to give them such a hard time over it, it's just a game after all.

My opinion on inactivity is that the mod should set the post standard, and if a player isn't able to meet those standards then the mod is the one who should find a solution for it (these things should be made clear in the rules during the sign-ups). Right now I see more people bitching about inactivity and wasting whole Days talking about it instead of doing some actual scumhunting, and that is annoying me more than the inactivity itself.

This is the best way to approach it.  But I'm not above some added social pressure as well.

Again though, mods are not actually taking any action regarding inactivity but replacing players. Sometimes they don't even do that.

Well they should. They are modding a game after all and with that also comes a responsiblity to deal with the less pleasant stuff to ensure that everything happens within the rules and that everyone has a fun time.

There is no way this many people are all of a sudden having RL issues pop up right after the game starts.

The problem is people just don't play.  They sign up, and think a post every few days following along the largest train at the time is playing.
