Darthe, several people have pointed out that Time said she won't be about untill today and tina has posted about it as well. based on your logic (which I don't actually disagree with) there were several better candidates got your vote. you've used game playing theory to cast it, so its not a joke vote, so I'm just surprised that you picked the person it doesn't really apply to, to vote for.

everyone else has checked in, and posted at least something else, so I'm not quite sure who you mean, Darthe.

 

is it usual to wait untill everyone is here, or would you expect accusations to start flying straight away?

 

(that last bit isn't specifically to Darthe, by the way)

As for your question: it really doesn't matter if everyone had checked in. If you find something suspicious then say so. Their response is typically where you get a read on them. Sometimes someone will so something to get the game going. The responses to that may give away alignment.

As far as new people there used to be an understanding of letting that person have a pass for day one. This allows them to get a feel for what to do. After that your on your own. Best way to learn is to be active. If you have questions, ask. (I asked the mod questions in pm for my first game, though sometimes the players will answer on thread).

I apologize about being quiet these last couple of days, but I have been very busy with starting a new class in school. However, now I am good to go there, and I will have more time to devote to this game as I go scum hunting with y'all to find the players on the mafia team.

Not even remotely.  That's just silly, Peace.  By that logic all of the highest posters in the game would be the scum team.  Does that make any sense to you?

 

Answer these questions and think critically.  

 

Are the highest posters in a game the mafia by neccessity?

 

Are the lowest?

 

Is there a correlative trend between post amount and alignment in general?

 

What about for individuals?

 

 

 

See, all that I have done is taken a standard bias that most agree with, which is "Inactives should be lynched because they make mafia easier to hide." and added a stipulation to it.  I stated that mafia are likely to post early in the game and then to fall into this pattern.  

 

The goal of this was, of course, to get early reads.  Beyond that it was to change the standard of how mafia react to early game plays.  Thus, the product is that at least a mafia member has been forced into posting an obscene amount for this period of the game.

 

And... after reviewing the number of posters so far we can, with relative safety, assume that either myself, Dap, or Peace is mafia.

Exactly.  A post number doesn't make me mafia, high or low.  Tendencies between games do.  

Likewise, townies can be wrong just as easily as mafia.  If Peace disagrees with either statement then he can't be town because these are generally known mafia truths.

Darthe has done this before.  It's a recent trend of his.  Strange play but not strange for him recently.

 

Okay, logically speaking people have higher anticipation of being scum than town.  Likewise people who are mafia gain more from a quiet game than a loud game as it allows them to slip between the cracks.  Thus my hypothesis is that if we are to find scum and scum are interested in playing without sticking out then scum must have posted but would not be to forward as of yet.

 

Thus... Vote Time

At this point of the game Time isn't the only who just checked in with a single post.  Stab in the dark play to possibly gage reactions.  Very thin logic..but at this point I was willing to go with the flow.  Note though that Time had stated she would be absent at first.  Could be an opportunistic play by Darthe or early bussing...if scum.

 

 

I follow your logic but want to point this out.

Time said in the sign up thread that she can´t be active until the 27th. That is the only exception to rule 1 that I will allow.

 

 

I recognize that.  However, for now I think the concept still stands.

He acknowledges Time won't be here which basically invalidates his argument yet stands by it.  Contradiction.

Hallia can´t start until Sunday. I have asked her if she still wants to play and I´m waiting for an answer. Csarmi hasn´t read my PM. I will see if I can find him.

So what reason could they have to not post at this point?  I don't think it is unlikely to speculate on this.

 

Additionally, I could have chosen a different name than WoT, it didn't really matter.  That one just stuck out to me.  

 

Oh, and if you want to see some of my crazier theories I will gladly post a full list of small psych techniques that I use... as soon as this game concludes.

 Mod confirmed that everyone has NOT read their PM.  Trying to make people who haven't even read their pm's look scummy.  Tina just stated in the post he quoted that Csarmi has not read it.

 

Also, wants us thinking that crazy theories is part of his town meta.  Doesn't want us questioning him on his theories.  "It's part of his game play so he shouldn't be considered scum for it."

Darthe stated that by posting Tina is scum.  I was being sarcastic by stating since he's posted more that he is more likely scrum.  I was showing him the how horrible his logic was.

Blue - Where has Darthe shown anything about Time's tendencies? Especially since he has acknowledge she stated she wouldn't be around early?

 

Green - What does this statement have to do with anything discussed? Also, mafia aren't wrong, they lie. Big difference.

 

Orange - Set up statement?  He throws out 2 non related statements, one of which is complete fallacy and then states if I don't agree with both I am scum?  Nice try.

okay so the only thing that people are really getting on is that Darthe thinks it suspicious that I posted to check in even though I said I wasn't really going to be active until the 27th... I said that I wasn't going to be really active, and checking in helps get the game started and is usually a short post that doesn't involve me taking notes on...

 

second, people are getting on Darthe because he got on me... while I can see their reasoning that it could be mafia trying to get an easy town lynch, this early on and with Darthe's experience, I think it highly unlikely that's the case...
