Still in the rules but with activity levels being down I doubt you can get 2 games going at once.

Maybe Verbal should look into changing the rules.

 

Personally I think if mafia games weren't also ran in the social groups it wouldn't be a problem.

I realize I'm rather new and not sure my opinion is worth that much, but I don't hope this changes. Just need a larger group of active Mafia players, and if anything I'd like to think Mafia in the social groups supports that. It's how I got into it.

I get where you're coming from regarding the drawing more people in thing but the actual quality of games tends to go down (in my own opinion) when you have 5 or 6 running at once where half the players are playing in almost all the games. People think they can handle it (I've been in I think 7 games at once before) but it does tend to stretch us thin and really dumb down our gameplay. People will get irritated easier or wont put as much effort into casing someone or will only skim the thread. Stuff like that.

Nol makes good points. Having too many games running at once definitely does thin out the pool of available players.

 

Maybe it should be limited to even less than 2/2 games at once, that way spots will be harder to come by and more back-up players would be available to replace those who aren't properly playing/contributing to the game. I've only played once, but in games that I've followed or read through it seems inactivity is a pretty common problem for DM Mafia games.

 

There would be less spots available at one time, so it would essentially force players to be more active at the risk of being replaced, as there'd be more back ups as well.

Just to butt in with my (completely inexperienced!) opinion.....

 

You could hold most of the games here, to collect all the active players together, but do regular tours round the relevant social groups to attract new players. And I mean really regular, like there is alway one going on somewhere else.

Personally, I would consider 1 game at a time here to be enough and 1 game in Thak and 1 in the BT.  3 is plenty.

So meanwhile the Aiel and the Ogier and all the others get left out? My first mafia game played on DM was on the Aiel board.

If you're going to allow games in orgs you can't discriminate between them.

I don't think we need to do anything. It will take care of itself. The sign ups will just take longer time.
