im a little concerned about voting Rand and Red tho less so Red. We were looking to lynch them yesterday and IF this is a power why are we rewarding them?

 

Should we instead be looking at someone else   no not nolder for at least president just to cover our bets?

If we are electing them and giving them a power then if they use it as scum would then we know 100% afterwords that they are scum. Great, found some. If it is a lynch than we have lynched them. Also great. Either way we find out about these two and we find out what this whole election business means.

 

Personally, I think that if this was to give someone a power then we would have been told. Otherwise its kind of mean because we would automatically assume it to be the basic lynch mechanic in every mafia game.

Sorry for my lack of contribution to the game thus far guys. At first it was calculated gameplay but now DM isn't working in my area (it seems to go in and out lately) and I'm using a proxy service to access the site. Problem with that is it's very slow and I have to use firefox both of which annoy me and make loading lots of pages and quotes more frustrating than it already is. So yeah as soon as DM is working normally for me I'm going to reread and analyze the entire thread and vote for my VP. Sorry again.

It's Day 1. Let's say, hypothetically, that being elected president is in fact just a cute way of saying "lynched" and I die. I have almost nothing invested in this game right now. Sure it might suck for town since they're now a man down but statistically that happens anyway so I'm not bothered by it. On the other hand if it's some special power...I want it. For the good of all presidential kind!

Oh this is interesting. I can't find where it says we will vote for presidents, but I will assume its true. I agree with Nolder here. If we try to lynch mafia, it might be a normal lynch and we might be one mafia down. However, if it is a power, then we might have just given mafia another power which they did not need. For a town, losing a vanilla town (which Nolder better be to do this), is not as bad, as it is the least loss we can get, and if he gets the power, we will have gained a power role, which would be great. Also, if this was just a normal mechanic, I don't think Eddie would have said PAFO, he would just explained it and went on. I feel like this is going to be a gift of some sort, so I will say vote Nolder.

That was mostly what pinged me with Rand...tinker seemed to be responded to a joke vote by adding a joke vote...Rand adding the third vote to nolder just pinged me a little more because he seemed a little more serious.

Well, I'm just guessing here. Yesterday, in theory, we would have voted a president.

Today, we are voting a vice in addition to a president.

 

What if president is a bit more permanent and vice is who takes over if pres dies?

I agree that Nolder is probably town though who is being rather silly. Until I see the promised whiskey in front of me I don't think I'll vote him.

6 pages in and there has been quite a bit of discussion about me and electing president and if that means a lynch or not and such. Calling me town without any further explanation is fishy. Especially paired with that joke right after about the whiskey. It's like a disarming justification. I don't like it.
