I don't think I trust the Despo train here. There's too many votes with not enough explanation. If one person has a gut feeling and votes based on that, fine. But three? I wouldn't be susprised if one of these three votes is scum, and Blofeld seems like too important a character to leave out of the game. He also seems too prominent to have a scum member use it as a fakeclaim cause there's got to be a real Blofeld somewhere. So I am leaning toward Des as town. With that in mind, I will vote Darthe. His vote seems the scummiest out of the three for the way he referenced Peace's vote without really delving into it, and Des is right in that it seemed offhanded.

 

Never mind that Sean Connery's archenemy is really Alex Trebek.

And since when do you need a reason to remove a joke vote? It's pretty much standard protocol that if someone you've joke voted for starts getting a bandwagon on them, it's only right to remove the joke vote.

I wasn't asking for one reason for both of us, I wanted a seperate reason for both of us. I always ask for a reason for an FoS/vote unless it is plain in sight, which is what I did here.

Actually my vote was a direct reference to Peaces vote, not offhand at all. More importantly, it was a reaction poke. 24 minutes for you, who has been essentially inactive for the last 4-5 days, to reply with gusto and manage to implicate several players. While the vote was initially baseless I feel pretty good about this. And a pretty weak claim with no pressure Despo? Looks like the D1 scum catching streak will continue.

 

But you didn't mention Peace's name outright. You simply referenced the gut feeling thing, that way it would seem more like you were following the lead, not connecting yourself to the person. It's a sly tactic that I have used myself many times.

 

As for my activity level, I stated, around 5 days ago, that my activity would be lower than usual

And Darthe, the fact that you are in multiple games with me right now and have seen me say the same thing in all of them, plus you should know what my schedule is normally like, being that I make it very clear that I work nights, all looks like you trying your darnedest to make me look scummy. Fact is, I got back to work tonight, so I had a lot more time to invest into my mafia games.

 

And how exactly is my claim weak? If you imply that the character wouldn't be in a James Bond game, then I have two syllables for you: Ha. Ha. As for my role, I'm sorry that I won't be giving your team more info so that you can try and weasel out of something later on when I pin you down on it. Tough cookies if you don't like that I won't give out all the details of my role. Fish somewhere else.

Hmm, well an early claiming Despo combined with otherwise odd behavior (meta) seemed a good place to stick a bit of weak pressure to me but I got good town replies from Despo, a weak couple of votes from Basel and NS, and nothing from peace. All of which is good, it is at least moving the game somewhat now. I have to say I am glad to see you back Des so unvote and I am interested in hearing more of your thoughts on others since I feel you're reliable now.

My vote was based on his silly stance on Nolder. Nolder has made it obvious lately he's gonna bandwagon vote day 1 no matter his alignment. It's a null tell. His character claim makes it pretty apparent he's not scum unless a CC shows up.

Seems like a claim that could be the real deal. Pretty major character. Although maybe it could just as well be a trick to draw the real Blofeld out? Blofeld is the arch enymy, so he/she is probably someone with an important role.

 

This is closer to fence sitting than what I said. When I said you hadn't said enough for me to get a good read on you, it wasn't an attempt at WIFOM or a refusal to take a position, it was the honest truth. Mischaracterizing my statements gets added to the early claim and the OMGUS'ing in my read on you.

 

Regarding removing a joke vote... when the game is going this slow, I have no better suspects, I actually wonder whether the person I joke voted might be mafia, and a train starts building that might help the game to move along, why would I have removed my joke vote? It wound up contributing to the gameplay, which was the best reason to keep it where it was.

 

Oh, and notice that I said I was taking your gameplay into account in deciding how to read you. Sometimes these things require a bit of thought, especially since I've already flat out stated how I form my impression of you based on your meta. I wouldn't put it past you to use that to manipulate me into trusting you, although it would be a fine line to walk.

 

I don't actually know the source material on this one (never watched a Bond movie in my life), so the character claim I had to look up. The role claim interests me more than anything. I want to see how this plays out, so I'll choose to trust you're not manipulating me. Yet.

You have your logic backwards, IMO. In the event of a speed lynch, I'd be more suspicious of the later votes as scum looking to pile on a good opportunity. Since I think Des is town, I think a look at NS might be called for. But the way you backed off and unvoted when your Des case started to backfire on you is pingy.

I have stated that I think Des is town as well and I didn't have a real case on Despo. The vote was weak, because it was a D1 draw more than a direct play and that I have to repeat this is redundant.

eh, you could also argue that the scum team could slightly try to make a lynch seem faster near the beginning to make more people join. i am just generally untrustful of people on speed lynch trains in general.

I went back through this thread and realized that there are some people I had completely forgotten were in this game.

 

It's been very quiet, and very slow... but there's been absolutely zero input from several people for nearly a week.

Only one that really stands out to me from the bottom is Peace, he's usually a bit more active than this. Snow used to play a lot more actively, but lately has been lurker mode to the extreme. More to the point tho, a lot of people came in for some day 1 spam, but have been absent since.

Your sudden reversal mixed with you claiming that the vote on me was more of a draw play than an actual vote is smelly.
