Oh, I also wanted to say something about quicktopics.

 

Apparently I've become an old-timey mafia player, which is weird, because a lot of players here on DM have played a lot longer than me. I have always played using quicktopics, I wasn't around back when the mafia teams communicated all through PMs. Mafia is constantly changing based on bringing new players, new blood into the game, which is largely a good thing. I'm not opposed to change. Nevertheless, sometimes I feel like when I try to stick my nose in and mention "Well, this is how we used to do it," newer players jump all over me.

 

So one new thing that's apparently now become a usual occurance is that players submit night actions via their quicktopics. And yes, that is a relatively new thing, or at least, it's a new thing that players assume they can do that without asking. it used to be a given you had to submit your own night action for yourself via PM.

 

Another new thing about quicktopcs - I don't want to bring up bad history (I don't even remember who this concerned honestly), but there was some drama a few months ago concerning if mafia players were allowed to talk outside their quicktopcs (via PM or messenger or email or whatever). Apparently some mods say that's not allowed, and some mods assume it's a given that it's not allowed.

 

I wanted to address both of these things: EP's role in this game is a good example of why both of these things shouldn't necessarily be allowed or be the rule. Of course, it is up to each mod to decide their own rules, I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do. But, given that peace and notbob essentially had a traitor on their team, well, they should totally be allowed to talk outside of that QT, if they suspected him. I suppose, if you're a mod that feels you need to monitor all players' activity (I don't) then you could instruct those players to request you give them a new QT tot alk on, just the two of them. But it should be an option.

 

Secondly, for the same reason, I will always have players submit their own night actions to me via PM. If you're not really aligned with the team you're supposedly algined with, you might want to doublecross them and kill someone else, instead of the person you agreed on as a team, or whatever. That's just one example. So it's not because I'm being mean and want to make things hard for you lol.

 

Anyhow. Possibly I'm projecting my own paranoia - I'm an incredibly secertive mafia player, whether I'm mafia or town, whether I have a team or not. it's one of the reasons I don't post a lot in games I play. When I'm playing, I often type out a post, let it sit for a minute, reread it several times, and then decide I'm better off not posting it and staying silent instead :P It's not necessarily a good thing - sometiems I choose not to share info with teammates, or with the town as a whole, that could have been useful. But I believe it serves me more often than not. Anyhow, getting off track, the point is, I can be as secretive a mod as I am a player, and I hope that makes for good mafia games for you guys :D

 

EDIT: Oh, and if y'all want a night-by-night recap of actions, I can post that too, but it'll have to wait til tomorrow. Really must be getting to bed :)

Awesome setup Alanna! I love all the flavor roles, each one of them makes a lot of sense.

 

And I got to utilize my favorite mafia strategy: play scummy wide out in the open

 

It kinda makes sense flavor wise too, since Fain is so obviously scummy for a while yet keeps getting away with it

 

GG in general tho, I had a lot of fun with it.

 

And MAN, our team got some lucky rolls that went our way. Had NotBob not had the bulletproof vest, or Nightstrike not outed himself as not town, we wouldn't have had as many scapegoats to divert attention away from me lol. But we planned on using the janitor on me anyways, so even if I was lynched I wouldn't flip as Fain

wasnt much in it. I had to stop posting once I was vigged. Notbob wanted you dead.

 

One thing I did do was hide my role from EP, even considered using it on him but chose you instead. But not because I didn't trust him and a double agent..more I just don't trust him as a team mate period. EP doesn't understand the word team.

I had figured out by both the numbers and the titles of our QT that there was a competing mafia team, EP told me you had done the same. Des, you said you called LZM town in the QT, he could have been blockedor what not and shown as going nowhere which would have been a way around that. I had already considered a way around your claim. You saying you viewed him town was another thing altogether.

 

Peace I really debated with myself which side to align myself with, had I been not a double agent I would have been fine. My mafia plays are alot quieter normally, the last real big open mafia play I did was in the Ghost Town game. The other games I kind of got cornered on some bs. The FF game I was fighting against an insinuated investigative role on day 1. I had been frustrated with things in general in the wot book mafia, I needed to cut out of a game anyways due to rl stress anyways so I backed out there unintentionally screwing my replacement. We were all screwed in the Labrynth game Ithi played a good hat.

 

 

However I would like to reveal both of my fake claims one I got to use and one I did not.

 

"Elbar, 1 time Janitor. Looks like it's safe to say Suroth is in what ever type of group the Darkfriends are in." (for those that don't know Elbar was the guy that Min stabed in the hand with her dagger.)

 

That is what I gave Peace and notbob. I'll give you guys the original version of my fake claim that I made for the game thread, and then the updated one that was fool proof.

 

Ok I can't find the original but here is the final verion of my fake claim.

 

"I'm claiming Aludra, I use fireworks to have a 50% chance of blocking actions targeted on me by blinding the person who targeted me."

My night kills were Sorcha, dapianoplay3r, and bgrishinko (in that order). Nights 1, 2 and 3. I tried to help the other scummies as much as possible. I didn't want to target the same people as the other scummies did, so I tried to go for the less obvious ones.

@EP: I never said on the QT that I had viewed LZM as town. I said that I "tracked" him and saw him go nowhere. There was still room to paint him as mafia, but making him seem like he was the Janitor was really unnecessary at that point, and might not have been believable.

 

@Nightstrike: You picked some good targets bro! Taking out the Healer, a JOAT'ish type player, and the town RB'er helped immensely. Incidentally, you kind of had a semi easy win condition in ensuring Rand wasn't lynched, which doesn't seem like it would happen fairly easily. But I'm glad you got the W, third party wins are tough to come by.

 

But I gotta ask, why did you out yourself as not being town?
